I am in the designing and bidding process of modifying my heavy equipment service truck with a pressure washing capability.
I need you to find me the right model (please!)
It has to be electric powered(I have an onboard generator), medium to low pressure, but most important..... weather proof.
It will be mounted to my truck and exposed to the elements 24 hours a day. And a model that is easy to drain (freeze proof) would be a big plus.
What do you think sir? can you find me the perfect one? by Anonymous on October 16, 2011
A: Unfortunately we do not carry any pressure washers that are fully weather proof, especially in an electric version. Your best option, from what we offer, would be to purchase either a Kranzle or DirtKiller brand electric pressure washer. Both of those brands use freeze proof pumps on their machine.
Q: Having trouble finding an electric that will work on a low pressure gravity feed. Seems some will not work at all, only on hose pressure. What models would be good for this? by Ron from New Jersey on September 22, 2011
A: The only brands of pressure washers that could do what you are looking for is either Karcher, Kranzle, or Dirkiller. All other brands of electric pressure washers will NOT be capable of this. This AR machine will NOT do what you are looking to do.
I am posting a few links below to these 3 brands of products we offer:
Q: Is the unit (AR Blue Clean 1500) "new" or "refurbished"? Also, what is the warranty period and who supplies the warranty coverage? by Tom from Pennsylvania on July 25, 2011
A: All pressure washers we offer are completely brand new, direct from the manufacturer. We do not even offer "refurbished" or "reconditioned" machines on our site. This model comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Any issues with the machine within that period would be handled by AR directly. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: I like the AR Blue Clean 1500 psi and I wanted to know if it can be mounted on a wall with the bracket that is attached? can I add a 50 foot hose and if you have them what is the cost? by Monti Joines from Maine on June 15, 2011
A: In most cases you could mount this, but would not be a pressure washer I would deem suitable for mounting, it just does not have the power to add on long extension hoses. If you wanted to do something like this, I would suggest going with the AR610 or 620. None of these though are really meant to be put on a wall, but with the correct bracket could be done.
Thanks,

Q: Moving to a house on the water with a boat house, need something small to wash the bird droppings from the deck . Will the little 1500 unit do the job. Thanks a bunch
by Bill Ducz from Florida on May 07, 2011
A: Yes, this would be fine for something like that. Worse case, you would have to add a little detergent from time to time.

Q: Is this unit powerful enough to remove grafitti with paint off a wooden fence? I have kids who keep using my fence as an art canvas, and need to find something that will pull the paint out of the wooden fence. by Cindee Zentz from Colorado on May 05, 2011
A: To do a job like this, you really should use a gas pressure washer. More than likely you would want to use a rotary/turbo nozzle as well. Removing paint from wood can be a little tricky as well. In most instances you may end up damaging the wood, so you have to be real careful and you may not be able to get all of it.

Q: Hi i am looking for Ar118 model my country voltage 220 volt can you advise me . by David Tan on April 11, 2011
A: Unfortunately this model only comes in 120 Volt. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Can an extension cord be used or is it limited to the 25 foot power cord it comes with? How will this unit work for cleaning of a ski boat? by Jeff from Idaho on April 04, 2011
A: Using an extension cord is not recommended with electric pressure washers. However, if the situation requires you to do so, you can use a 25' cord as long as it is an outdoor rated 14 gauge cord. You may increase the extension cord length up to 50' but then you have to increase the size of the cord to a 12 gauge cord. by Bill, Product Expert

AR is famous for their high performance pumps, and even in this economical hand held unit they put in a pump that's a step above most units in this price range.
The pump has 3 stainless steel plungers that are more durable than the typical wobble plate pumps on other units in this class.
Plus, the handy size easily fits in tight places a larger unit may not- just grab and go!

Ran well
This is the third machine that I have had to buy in the past 2 years. I generally clean four decks twice a year. Total square footage is approximately 300 sq.feet.
This machine ran well and did a good job of restoring the treated lumber. I would probably buy the next power size up the next time to speed up the process.
PWD RESPONDS: Consumer-class hand-held units are best at light duty tasks: washing cars, cleaning lawn furniture, etc. If you have larger projects in mind (like deck cleaning) a unit with an Induction motor will cost a little more up front, but last much longer.
Be sure to store your pressure washer where it won't freeze- that really extends the unit's life.

Hope it holds up
I have just tested the unit. It assembled easily, and packs up into a neat package. Initially the pump did not turn itself off when the wand trigger was released no flow position. This seemed to build pressure in the system. Eventually it started working correctly.
All of this might be due to air in the lines, upon start up I ran water through the system prior to starting the motor.
The pressure is much less than the typical gasoline powered system, but is sufficient for around the house light washing. I wanted it for vinyl siding, screened porch cleanup, washing inside a greenhouse, and boat and car washing. I think it will work well for this.
The quick connect coupling for the water hose is plastic and will likely require replacement. I hope the pump and pressure sensor holds up.

Easy for a senior
The washer is very easy to work and very light to handle for a senior.
So far it has performed as well as expected and handles very well for small jobs such as patios and screen porches.

AR Blue Clean 1500 PSI Hand Carry (Electric-Cold Water) Pressure Washer Review
Worked well on removing mold from the shingles of my house though had to be careful of the removing the stain on the shingles.
Did not work as well as I'd like removing brake dust from my hubs...may try steam cleaning.

BUY THIS ONE.
We have a home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where we enjoy some of the bluest skies and beautiful beaches anywhere.
We also enjoy deck mold, vinyl siding mildew, fish blooded boat decks and encrusted salt spray everywhere.
I got tired of borrowing and renting pressure washers and decided to buy my own. After a good bit of internet research I ordered the AR 118 Blue Clean.
WOW !! I had no idea this little thing would be this good. It does every thing I need it to do and more. Another big plus is my wife can handle it and loves to use it.
It stores compactly and is easy to transport to our home in Virginia when I need it there.
If you need a medium duty PW, Ive already done the research and field testing for you. BUY THIS ONE.

Greatly impressed!
Greatly impressed! Knocked out the whole wooden fence and half of the driveway in one weekend.
Works very well for the few small jobs that I have to do. Great power for the price.
I would recommend this pressure washer to anyone on a budget.

Good choice for older adults
I bought the unit because of the 11 amp draw. I used it to clean my boat some 150 feet from the house.
The unit worked well- not as powerful as some, but did what I expected from it.
Would be a good choice for older adults.

Outstanding
Ordered on Tuesday and received on Friday. Opened Saturday morning and did my 18X24 deck. No problem!
Washed the brick foundation around my home. My neighbors on both sides of me wanted to try it out.
Two more large decks washed. Five hours and three decks washed. Don’t let size fool you.
Perfect for around the house jobs.

Quick & Easy
Great for washing cars and light stuff.
I have larger pressure washers, but often use this one because its quick and easy, and powerful enough for many common tasks.
Only complaints: the hose should be longer, and the inlet hose fitting is poorly made- it leaks if bumped or pulled.
Otherwise, a fine little machine at an excellent price.
PWD RESPONDS: We've found that using an inexpensive garden hose quick-connect and some teflon tape is a good way to save your knuckles and prevent drips.

UPDATE ON MY REVIEW
After changing a washer on my faucet and buying a new commercial hose...the AR118 works great and gives the exact pressure I need.
It's a great machine and with the proper water flow, does more than I expected.
Sorry for the previous review guys...this is a very good product!!!

Didn't do my research
Good service, prompt shipping...but the 1500 PSI doesn't have the power to do most of the jobs we need done in pressure washing saltwater driftwood. It's way less powerful than I thought it would be.
Not PWD's fault...should have heeded the other reviews and paid xtra money for 1900 or 2000 PSI.

The AR Pressure washer works fine thus far.
There is nothing at all that has worked any better than this PW right out of the box. I think, in retrospect, I would have been better off if I had gotten a 2000psi machine for what I wanted it to do, but this one does a nice job so I'm not complaining!
I wanted a light weigh strong and dependable PW to help clean around windows of the house with out blowing paint off the trim and this does that but with many passes.

A great value: Paid for itself in the first day. Five stars!
It was several days after the AR118 arrived before I used it, but then I took it out of its box, reviewed the instructions carefully, and began using it, cleaning an aggregate concrete patio and then the stairs up to a second floor deck and the deck itself.
It performed exactly as it should: Easy to use, complete in every detail, quiet, and effective. In past years with other homes Ive always hired this out at a cost of $200 or more...this time it was done and the total cost was far less.
Thank you so much for the excellent product and the first class order handling, shipping, and advertising that so accurately described this great little unit.
I have already told several friends about it, and you may be hearing from them.

Short hose
This product is not strong enough and pressure hose is a little bit short.
PWD RESPONDS: The AR118 is a lightweight, hand-held unit and is excellent for small, around the house cleaning tasks.
A hose much longer than 20 feet would be difficult to manage on a hand-held pressure washer, especially since it's important to keep it from kinking. Getting a kink in a high pressure hose can result in a blow-out, or create a weak spot in the hose.
We hope you will find this unit very well suited to apartment or condo use, cleaning small patios, washing a car, or garden tool cleanup.
Larger tasks like cleaning your siding or driveway will require a larger unit.

Love the power washer
I love the power washer. I used it for the first time to clean my large Wolmanized wood picnic table. It did a great job.
The motor/pump is very quiet. I could even carry on a conversation with my neighbor while working on the table.
I love that everything stops when you let go of the trigger. Great adjustment on the spray wand.
I'm glad I didn't buy the cheaper unit at my local big box store.

Should have waited
Had I waited 2 weeks I could have purchased locally a washer with a higher PSI rating at a lower cost within a $20 range.
Several stores conducted sales of other brand washers. Oh well, my loss.
PWD RESPONDS:
The other brands in your local store probably did not have a pump made by AR (Annovi Reverberi). They are usually found in high end units...
You may find that your pressure washer outlasts the cheaper models, making any extra money you spent worthwhile!

It has been wonderful
This is a lightweight and easy to assemble unit. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
I'm a 68 year old female and I needed something to carry up a ladder to clean my foam roof and my pool deck.
It has been wonderful. Enough pressure to do both jobs and easy to handle.
I do wish it had a lock position on! My hands get tired of holding down the handle. Guess it is a safety regulation. I'll see if it continues to work after a year. I am trying to drain all the water from it and I keep it in the garage.
PWD RESPONDS: You are right; it is a safety precaution. Plus, small electric pressure washers will last longer if you give them breaks to cool off; so taking a break to rest your hands is good for the machine, too.

I cleaned off the stone and concrete patio quickly- it looks like new now.

Many thanks for this little pressure washer
Many thanks for this little pressure washer. I used the machine on two small jobs, one a tile covered deck and the other a small wooden deck with stairs.
In both cases I appreciated the small size and the quick pressure response at the nozzle. I took me a little while to figure out where all the accessories were to be stored. The delivery was a little delayed but we made it in time.
After use, I drained as much water as possible and then stored it for a day laying on its side with a small amount of oil in the intake that ultimately drained into the piston area. I hope this helps as I have experience with other machines that were damaged when they were stored for longer periods.
Thanks again and I have already recommended the machine to others.

Found it great
I have only used it once and found it great.
I am 75 years old and found the directions easy and the use of the stream flexible enough for screens and forceful enough for green mold on siding.
The only thing I don't like is that you cant use an extension cord, so I can't do my roof.
PWD RESPONDS: Other customers have plugged their unit into an outlet in an upper-story room and run the cord out of a window to get the unit up on a roof. Please be careful; roof work can be very dangerous!

So far, a solid performer
Having been burned by failures and defective-as-received units from Karcher, McCullough and FAIP, I decided it was time to try a different supplier.
This model looked like it would do the job, and for once it looks like I got the good stuff.
It's much quieter than the others, it doesn't sound like the motor is overloaded, the spray pattern is consistent, and it's obvious that this manufacturer spent their money on the guts instead of the casing.
It may not look like much, but I'll GLADLY trade style for function anytime.
