Q: The engine shut down while I was running it. It has only about 8 hours use. I can't pull the starter rope - locked up tight. It was very low on oil. How can I get it to start, if I can get it to start. by Mike Fischer from Ohio on April 30, 2011
A: If the starter rope is locked up and the engine was extremely low on oil, more than likely the engine is seized up and will have to be replaced. Did you verify that the oil level was full before you started the machine? If you did not and this is the issue you are having, I would be almost 100% positive in saying that the engine shaft has seized up and I do not think that these engines are rebuildable. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: i was using this pressure washer it worked fine for a while then stalled out. i restarted it but every time i went to spray the machine stalls out by Shawn on April 12, 2011
A: You will have to contact a Briggs & Stratton service repair center in order to find out what the problem is. To find the closest one to you, call Briggs & Stratton at (800) 743-4115
I would make sure you check the oil, the engine could be shutting down due to a low oil level. by Bill, Product Expert

High Presssure Soap Sprayer
All I hoped for and more. This device really delivers, I can spray detergent on my second story siding and gutters something I could not do with the factory pressure washer detergent attachment.
I no longer worry about what detergent I am using as it does not go through the pump.
Great product at a great price.

Worthless Wand!
This wand is a jack of all trades and master of none. The spray is adjustable, but unfortunately does not provide a very precise fan.
The wand diffuses the spray to such an extent that the power of the washer is lost because water is going everywhere. I am replacing this wand with one that has different, fixed tips for different uses.
The spray works by adjusting two blades that channel the water from the tip. These two blades are supposed to be parallel, but in practice are NOT- which means one side of the spray has more water than the other.
Imprecise at this level means that water is not concentrated, which steals energy from the spray. Why pay for all that PSI when it is lost by the spray head?
I recommend steering clear of this one.

Brick is a popular choice of home builders for its rich, classic look. But dirt, grime, and even moss can cause discoloration over time. Luckily, pressure washing can restore brick to its former glory.

Nice performance but...
I purchased this machine after reading lots of reviews. It also comes with a 2-year warranty while all of the competitive brands with the same engine I checked only had 1 year warranties.
Ordering and delivery went flawlessly, and I am very impressed with the performance of Pressure Washers Direct. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again when the need arises.
Assembly was straightforward since all that needed to be done was to attach the handle and the utility tray. It took all of 10 minutes and didn't require any tools since the fasteners were all made up with wing nuts.
The engine started on the first pull and everything works very well. I was expecting a wider fan spray but realize that a wider spray would necessarily reduce the pressure. I adjusted to the narrow spray and proceeded to wash my concrete decks. The machine works as advertised and I really didn't have any problems until it ran out of gas. Restarting the engine after refueling posed a major problem. It simply wouldn't fire. After letting it sit for about 30 minutes, it restarted on the first pull. I've now run about 5 tanks of fuel through the engine and the problem still persists. Even if you shut off the engine before it runs out of fuel, restarting still requires a 20 minute wait. I've slightly downgraded the machine due entirely to this problem. I will contact Briggs and Stratton to see what they have to say about the problem. Since there is no visible choke or other adjustments on the engine, all you can do is pull the starter rope and hope for the best.
I would still recommend this machine and, other than the starting problem, I'm very pleased with it.

How to Quickly Power Wash Fences
Wood fences take a beating. They’re out in the weather 24/7, which can leave them faded, green, even mossy. But you can turn back the clock with a pressure washer.

Briggs & Stratton 2550 PSI Gas Pressure Washer Review
If you are looking for a gas pressure washer to prepare your deck for re-staining, or if you want a pressure washer to do your other chores around the house, then this is the washer for you. I have had mine for a month now, using it to prepare my deck, clean my brother's deck and to clean my screens. I purchased this washer from Pressure Washers Direct, after returning to PWD an electric washer from another company (a total waste of money.) Ann Weilbacher of PWD was so helpful in obtaining for me a full refund for the other washer and in selling me this washer. The quality of the Briggs and Stratton is so obvious, from the tires to the brass wand extension and the nozzles. The new washer was damaged in shipment and Briggs and Stratton was very cheerful in helping me to resolve that problem. Without reservation, I recommend the model (27048) and the manufacturer. I also recommend that you purchase your washer from Pressure Washers Direct.
