Q: Bill,
I've used warm water in my Husky washer for years without a problem. Although this unit (Briggs) says cold, I know some of these units can go to 140 degrees F. Which of these "cold" water units can go to 140?
by Dave from Nebraska on August 28, 2011
A: All "cold water" units can accept water up to 104 F degrees without causing any damage to the pump. This Briggs & Stratton model 20358 is one of those units. Unfortunately we do not carry any residential/consumer grade electric pressure washers that can accept water up to 140 F degrees. Only pressure washers with CAT PUMPs or hot water kits can accept water up to 140 F degrees.

Q: hi bill i was wondering cause i been looking at the Hyde 28" Pivot Nozzle Pressure Washer Wand and wondering if there is any other kits or anthing i dont care about price i just want a idea or if this hyde can work on this presure washer by Anonymous on August 14, 2011
A: Unfortunately this Hyde wand would not work with that pressure washer. The Hyde wand that you would want to purchase is model 28420. We currently do not carry this model but we are in the process of adding it to our site. If you check back next week, we should have it listed on our site. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Will the Karcher 4 piece wand extension set work with the B&S #203358 pressure washer by Daniel from Minnesota on June 08, 2011
A: No, that kit will not work, those are only going to work on Karcher branded pressure washers. As of right now, there is not an extension kit that will work with the Briggs and Stratton pressure washer.
Thanks,

Q: Can the output water pressure be adjusted so that I can include both concrete and household siding cleaning? How is this pressure adjusted? What is the lowest PSI? by Claire & Oscar Rummel from Kentucky on June 08, 2011
A: The pressure on these is fixed. Now they are adjustable at the nozzle end, this is still going to put out the full pressure, but the fan spray is wider, giving you a less pressure approach.
Thanks,

Q: I have orederd one would like to know the sizes of the brass quick connects to buy at my hardware store. Thank you can't wait to receive the unit by Yvonne Sigman from Pennsylvania on May 09, 2011
A: The size of the quick connects, if you are talking about for the hose connection would be 3/4", this would be standard for the most part for a garden hose connection.
Thanks,

Q: Will the 20358 briggs handle 140 degree water service? by Tom West from Minnesota on May 07, 2011
A: I would not suggest using this pressure washer in more than 100 degree water. A cold water pressure washer is exactly that. If you are looking to use a pressure washer with hotter water, you would need to go with a warm water pressure washer.

Q: I cannot get the tank on both sides of my Briggs & Stratton 1800 PSI Pressure Washer to work. I fill it up with c cleaner, but the level never goes down. In otherwords, it doesn't work.
How do i make it work??? by JoanJones from Oregon on April 18, 2011
A: You have to make sure that you are rotating the wand to the low pressure setting in order to pull detergent from the tanks. If you are already doing this, you might have a defective injector. If this is the case, this defect would be covered under the warranty as long as the unit is less than 1 year old. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Can an extension cord be used or is it limited to the 25 foot power cord it comes with? How will this unit work for cleaning of a ski boat? by Jeff from Idaho on April 04, 2011
A: Using an extension cord is not recommended with electric pressure washers. However, if the situation requires you to do so, you can use a 25' cord as long as it is an outdoor rated 14 gauge cord. You may increase the extension cord length up to 50' but then you have to increase the size of the cord to a 12 gauge cord. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Do you ship this item to Australia? If so, how much would shipping be? by Jacque on March 31, 2011
A: Unfortunately we do not ship products outside of the U.S. Sorry, I would be unable to quote you on shipping this product to Australia. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Hi Bill, it appears the 20358 electric PW is the best one I can find. Reviews show some are coming not working and 2 problems; one about the soap container and worse the bottom hose plastic threads stripping out. Remedy is a brase double fitting that a shop would have to put on. I want one of these but scared with all the problems, I just don't need stress at 60 now with problems. Can U sell me one but first check it out that it is ok and install this brass fitting it needs so the hose doesn't leak? I need this for my decks and vinyal siding. If so I'd like to order one if we know it is all ok and this brass fitting they say should already be on it isn't and this fixes the leaks and ability to connect the hose not to stripped out threads. Sorry to bother U but I don't know what else to do, I don't want a gas one.
Thank U very much, Jim. by Jim Scholten from North Carolina on March 29, 2011
A: This residential electric pressure washer is a good quality machine. Briggs & Stratton have resolved the detergent tank issues that these machines had. As for the hose threading, yes the water inlet connection is plastic and can strip if you are not careful when connecting your garden hose. However, this plastic inlet fitting is not cheaply made. Unfortunately we cannot install the brass fitting on this unit prior to delivery but you can purchase a garden hose brass quick connect kit and easily attach it yourself. I'm posting a link below to the garden hose qc kit I am referring to:

Bill's Recommendation
This proven performer from Briggs & Stratton has everything you need wrapped up in a sleek package.
A sturdy axial cam pump paired with a reliable induction motor comes wrapped in an easy to store, stable frame. Storage slots on the side keep the wand and nozzles from getting lost, and a pressurized hose reel keeps the extra-long hose tidy and kink-free.
Top it all off with a unique, adjustable strength soap system and you'll see how the 20358 earned our "Best recommendation.

Best Washer ever
Just bought a new house in Florida and needed a power washer to clean the patio. Bought a Snapon washer it was terrible, constantly shorting out.
Returned it and on line bought the Briggs and Stratton. This washer is incredible. It does everything it says it can and with exceptional ease.
Very glad I bought it and will recommend it.

Soap leak
This is a replacement model for one that the motor stopped working after only 67 uses. Pressure Washers Direct was very good and prompt with replacement as it was still under warranty. The washer arrived and it is fairly simple to put together..I put some soap in one of the side containers and left to answer the phone.. I came back to a large wet area on the floor ie the pressure washer soap ,and on inspection can see it leaking out of the bottom of the plastic container near where the tubing hooks up..am a little disappointed and have not had time to call the Company as yet..
Love the design of the unit and will let you know how long it lasts.
PWD RESPONDS: Just give the folks at Briggs & Stratton a call, toll free, at (800) 743-4115. Please don't wait too long- make sure your unit is still covered under warranty!

This is the best power washer I have owned. It did a great job on my stucco home, windows, screens, and eaves.
The 1800 psi was enough power to complete the jobs. The hoses and electrical cords were long enough to make the job flow smoothly without constantly pulling and moving the washer around everything.
When it was necessary to move the machine, it was easily done.

Washing yacht decks a breeze
Machine was packed well, shipped on time and pump provides plenty of pressure.
Makes washing nonskid deck on yacht a breeze. Only one complaint, the pressure hose is cheap and already after two uses shows signs of failing.
Other than the hose, I feel the unit is a tremendous value.

Soap Dispensing
The soap setting only works when the tip of the wand is extended. The tip couldn't be extended with normal strength with the unit we received. Had to immerse the wand in hot water, presumably breaking a vacuum seal.
Motor is good. Cord is not very long, a little over a garage depth. Good for surface cleaning. Decent buy on a budget but look for higher PSI models if possible.

Awesome
I purchased this pressure washer Saturday Aug 27th & had it by Sept 1st...that's a fast processing & delivery!
I operate a roadgrader to maintain our local county roads & trust me, it gets the worst kind of dirt, dust & grime you can imagine!! I used my new Briggs & Stratton PW the next day to clean off a months worth of grime...WOW did it work great!!
I'm like others, I'm not too thrilled with the gun or trigger & it does have a little squeal with I release the trigger.
I've used a more powerful, more expensive commercial PW at our shop & it doesn't clean any better than this one. I know this PW will clean everything I need including the spider-webbed siding on my house.
I highly recommend this PW to anyone who needs all the power they can get for the money & Pressure Washers Direct is the only place I will shop in the future!!

Cumbersome trigger
I absolutely HATE the cumbersome trigger where you have to press a button in order to pull the trigger.
This is a classic case of the Feds ruining a good product.
PWD RESPONDS: You should just have to push the button at the start of spraying; usually there's a way to lock the button open while you're working.
We haven't logged any other complaints about this, so you may want to give the folks at Briggs & Stratton a call at 800-743-4115, toll free, to see if there's a way to make the safety lock less annoying.

Pressure Washer Review
I went ahead and purchased this pressure washer on the recommendations on the Pressure Washers Direct.com site. The box was delivered within a day since I am only about 30 miles from their warehouse location. It was left at the rear of the house since I was not home and had a hole in the one side but I could not tell if there was damage until I opened it up to inspect. Upon opening it was packed well and the hole was behind an empty spot in the box so all appeared ok.
Set up was simple and straight forward. I went ahead and followed the directions and read them before taking it outside to give it a test run. I did buy the recommended quick disconnect for the water hook up again from feedback from others. It was under $5 from a local hardware store with tax in case anyone reading is wondering so I didn't include it with my washer order. I don't plan on running soap or any chemicals through it anytime soon so I didn't pay much attention to those sections.
I ran plenty of water through it to make sure air was out of the lines before powering it up. Once I plugged the unit it and pulled the trigger it cycled and the pump came on for a few seconds and it shut off even though I had the trigger fully engaged. Thought maybe I pulled the GFI on the house outlet but the power light was still on the the cord on the unit, all good. After a lot of time screwing around and checking the instructions to no avail it started up and ran fine for about the 40 minutes it took me to clean a cedar hammock frame that had been in the weather for quite a few years. Turned out great and looked like new. I haven't had a reason to pull the pressure washer out since the weekend it was delivered to see if that power up issue was a one time only incident or if this thing has an intermittent bug.
Overall this unit is packed well, easy to set up, easy to use once it decided to start, and did a great job at a pressure expected from an electric unit. For typical house use I do not have a need for a gas powered washer and this will fit the bill perfectly for general cleaning of power equipment such as lawn movers and snow blowers, my lawn furniture, gutters, etc. I hope I can post an update pending how it runs next time I use it this summer since I only have one experience with it to date.

Rugged construction
Rugged construction, built to last. Could use a nozzle with angled tip,
and the turbo nozzle seems to lack the advertised power. Held 12
inches above pine decking, it will not even strip old stain, never
mind damaging the wood as the manual warns.
The adjustable nozzle,
dialed down to a concentrated spray, is much more likely to fuzz the
wood surface. That said, this machine can produce delightful clouds of
mist on hot muggy days, appreciated by all living things.
PWD RESPONDS: Using a 3/4" garden hose instead of a smaller diameter (5/8") one may help get you more water volume and better cleaning results.
You can always give the folks at Briggs & Stratton Tech Support a call at (800) 743-4115. They will be happy to help you get the best performance from your pressure washer.

Dissapointed
I believed all the hype and ordered the B&S electric Pressure Washer without really checking it out. I have to rate it not bad but, then again not good. My old Karcher model 330 that I gave to my son is 20+ years old and rated at 1300 psi. It outperforms this new B&S, rated at 1800 psi by a significent margin. But I must admit, the B&S is a nice package and does have well designed wand, hose and electrical cord onboard storge.

Caveat Emptor
My first pw arrived shortly after ordering but unfortunately did not work correctly. I fired it up the day after it arrived and it squawked each time the motor came on and using the yellow headed wand on high pressure the unit would squawk, send out a 2 second burst of pressurized water, stop, squawk again and shoot out another 2 second burst. This continued for as long as you held the trigger. I called PW Direct and the employee told me to call Briggs & Stratton. The lady at B&S was very helpful but after explaining the problem and trying to resolve she asked me to call PWD and tell them to send a new one. At this point Im starting to get nervous but I talked to another employee at PWD that was much more sympathetic and after I gave him the B&W ticket # he called back within 20 minutes and said a new pw was being sent out. The second pw also arrived quickly and this one worked as advertised although it still squawks when engaging. I assume they all do this?
One thing I did notice on the first one was it was made in 09 and had all the other problems people have complained about. I could not get out the soap container on one side out, the knob to switch the soap containers did not work and the unit is not real well made. I believe this unit is sold under different names with slight cosmetic changes. I also purchased a metal quick release where the water hose attaches so I wouldnt break the plastic hookup. The other thing I discovered after receiving the pw was I could have bought it locally for less so caveat emptor as in buyer beware, there is no such thing as free shipping Virginia.

PWD to the Rescue
Pressure Washers Direct came to the rescue when Briggs & Stratton would not. My initial machine screeched horribly when powering down. B&S replied this is normal.
I alerted Pressure Washers Direct to this situation. Within one week a new machine was on its way to me. The new power washer works as advertised on the PWD website.
Terrific customer service. The Buyers Guides and Product Reviews were very helpful too.
Will definitely recommend PWD.

Pleased
Pressure washer works very well and I am pleased. Time will tell if its performance lasts.
This product is good but not perfect. The knobs that control the soap are plastic and do not turn well. We take the knob off and turn it with pliers.
On our unit one soap container will not come off the unit and so we use the other one all the time, so now it wont stay in. The wands are very nice and we were impressed with how well the machine adds the soap.
PWD RESPONDS: Briggs & Stratton has a one year Factory Warranty on this unit. Just give them a call, toll free, at (800) 743-4115 and they will be happy to work with you so you can put away the pliers.

New pressure washer
I've only used it once. It sounds like a small pair of tires squealing every time I release the trigger, but still seems to work OK.
I'm not sure how to apply any cleaners, because the manual doesn't tell me at what ratio to dilute the soaps before I put them in the tanks. My old pressure washer told me what ratio to dilute soap at.
Do I not need to dilute any soap?
PWD RESPONDS: If you are using a pressure washer safe soap (and you should, in order to protect the pump and keep your warranty valid) and it doesn't say 'super' or 'ultra' concentrated on the label, you should be fine adding it directly to the tank.
The pressure washer will dilute it automatically at about a 1:10 ratio (1 gallon of concentrate will make 10 gallons of soap).
Ultra-, or super-concentrated detergents will need to be diluted before you put them in the tank. The instructions will be on the bottle; or you can check the detergent manufacturer's web site or call their customer service number for the amounts.
Be sure to empty the tank and flush the line out before storing the unit so the soap doesn't dry out and clog things up.
If you're worried about the noise, just give the folks at Briggs & Stratton a call, toll free, at (800) 743-4115. They'll walk you through some simple questions to decide if it's a warranty problem, or something you can adjust at home.

Lots of uses
So far I have pressured washed my 24' cabin cruiser, including a hardtop which is hard to reach by hand; a 2
car concrete driveway with 15 years of grime albeit no oil stains; on my garage floor it got most of oil stains, except didn't seem to touch a vegetable oil stain; my cement walkway; boat trailer; boards which I parked
my trailer on which were caked with packed dirt; and old paint- albeit real old paint- from wooden steps.
I tried my Universal Underbody & Gutter wand on my gutters, but found that taking the pine needles out by hand
was more efficient. Forgot to use it on the underside of my boat & trailer, but did alright with the power washer.
I've developed a small hole in the inlet screen, which might have been caused by my mistakenly
thinking the inlet for the hose had a shipping plug in it, so I tried to remove something that wasn't there! The gouged surface might be rubbing on the screen. T
he unit was bought in August of 2010 and still works fine.
PWD RESPONDS: For tough oil stains, pre-soaking the stain with a grease cutting cleaner will lift the oil to the surface where the pressure washer can flush it away.

Briggs & Stratton Power Washer
I bought this for the convenience very good, reasonable power good, price good, quality good and ease of operation great.
I read about power washers and this seemed like the best compromise.
Pros:
The washer is really easy to assemble and use.
Pressure Washers Direct shipped promptly and seem most reliable. I noted online they answered all questions and issues. They followed up with this request for feedback.
Power is such that it will NOT likely do personal harm, so it is a good introductory model.
Easy to increase/decrease power.
Mobile, easy to move around with hose & power cord that are long enough.
Cons:
The fitting, hose etc. are ok but I suspect they will leak over time and I will have to replace them with brass.
Less power than I expected.
The first job was an aggregate concrete walkway to remove moss. It did so but it took more time than I expected. Dialing power down it was great for cleaning the dirt off pool trellis. Probably great for light power washing jobs where a hose isn't enough but a gas power washer is too much.
Overall I am very satisfied.

Very happy with the product
I wanted to avoid the use of gasoline, oil, oil changes, and the noise of a gas powered pressure washer. I searched online for an electric pressure washer to see if I could purchase a brand name model without having to pay for shipping. Then I discovered Pressure Washers Direct!
I chose the Briggs & Stratton Model 20358 and have been very happy with the product. There was very little to do in removing it from the box and setting it up to operate.
It does a good job for the kind of projects I had to clean such as sidewalks, patio, outdoor furniture, etc. Living in NW Washington State means lots of mold and mildew growing on outside concrete and yard items and my Briggs & Stratton takes care of it all!

have used it around the house to clean parts of the driveway, wood stairway and landscaping river rocks. i got this to do the small jobs and the rocks. you want something that works but wont blow the rocks away.

Great Job
Does a great job. I like that all of the attachments are on board and that the hose winds up.
A really neat package and easy to store without the wand hose sprouting out everywhere when you are through.
I also ordered the quick connect, no leaks! Better than my Karcher and the AR.

Great Machine
I got tired of borrowing my son's pressure washer and didn't want to bother with the hassle of all that goes with gas models.
After some research I decided on the Briggs and Stratton model 20358. We needed this to keep our brick patio and sidewalk areas clean and free of moss from all the winter rain.
My wife loves it, says using it almost becomes an addiction. So far, about 12 hours run time I can find nothing bad to say about it. I have no problem recommending it to anyone.

I really like several features on this new unit that the previous unit did not have:
1. the built in reel for the hose,
2. the automatic start and stop of the motor, and
3. the reservoir for the detergent.
One minor detail that I find tiring is that the wand length is a bit short for me and I find myself hunching over to get close enough. I'm only 6 tall. The previous unit had the same issue and I ended up getting an extension for the wand this solved that issue. I will likely be looking into the same for this unit.

Happy but has a loud squeak
After doing quite a bit of research I settled on this power washer. I havent used it a lot because I just got it two days ago. My previous one broke and I needed a replacement.
After reading the reviews I did purchase a short hose connection with the spring around it to stay attached to the unit. that seems to work fine.
I do get a very loud squeak noise when I release the trigger. It did not do it the first couple of releases but does it every time now. It seems to work fine otherwise. I will be washing the house tomorrow so I will see if it gets worse, goes away or remains the same. I will contact the company just to be sure.
PWD RESPONDS: Contacting Briggs & Stratton tech support at (800) 743-4115 is exactly the right thing to do; they will be happy to advise you, and handle any warranty issue.

Happy with the washer
Bought this unit to wash my Freightliner ice cream truck daily. Two weeks into the use, I am very pleased.
I have not experienced a lot of the negatives that I read in other reviews. One disappointment is the front cover where the garden hose hookup comes out of. The internal plumbing sticks out so far that the cover will not stay clipped in place. It just kind of flops around. It can be snapped back into place, but the vibration of running just undoes it again. I wish the hook up were more stable also, as it would be very easy to break this connection off while moving the machine, and it is an integrated plastic piece. Once this breaks I think you're screwed. I plan on installing a short spring hose on the factory hookup and securing it to the foot tube on the front, this should relieve the strain on the obvious weak spot.
The turbo wand will pound off the hardest dried on gunk, very impressed. The portability of the unit is outstanding. I like the double tanks, one for soap and one for wax. This washer saves me about twenty bucks a week in quarters at the local car wash, so it will pay for itself in about twelve weeks. Nice!
PWD RESPONDS: Another way to avoid wear and tear on the garden hose connection is to use a quick connect on both the unit and the hose. They are only a couple bucks at your local hardware store.

I LOVE IT!!!!!
I am a 74 year old lady who resides in the northwest and have a lot of problems with moss growing on my aggregate cement patio and the lattice work on my outdoor garden room during the winter months.
I have used gas pressure washers in the past to eradicate this problem every Spring. When I read the reviews on this washer I was very intrigued. The cost makes it worthwhile rather than the rental of a machine every year and then not having the advantage of being able to do the large job in stages, rather than all at once. So I decided to try it. I am so glad I did.
I found the setup upon delivery a breeze, the hardest part is getting it out of the carton. The instructions are easy to follow and everything you need is onboard, compartmentalized and handy. The appearance is very sleek and clean and it is easy to maneuver with its large rear wheels.
All accessories seem to be of high quality and I would expect them to give me long life if taken care of properly. As opposed to reviews about the knobs being hard to turn, mine turned with ease.
And then I turned it on and was pleasantly surprised. It did every bit as good as the gas models I had used in the past. It removed the stains and moss easily and completely. I am anxious now to try it on my chain link fence slats, my arbor and even the car and wheels.
I'm a believer, its a jewel.

I love my new Briggs & Stratton electric pressure washer. I had some reservations about an electric pressure washer but all concerns were blown away after I started using my new unit.
The only problem I experienced was just as the other reviews mentioned was the water inlet fitting not being very good. I was able to correct the problem by buying a brass quick connect from my local hardware store and installing it on the unit.
Oh yea, I came home from work the other day and my wife even had the pressure washer out cleaning the back deck and she loved it and did a great job. It's so easy to use.
Thanks Pressure Washer Direct!

Needs Improvement
Water hose connector at the base of the unit needs to be made of brass or some kind of metal instead of plastic.
The threads need to be deeper. I am very unhappy with my unit. The hose leaks at the connection and even disconnects completely.
It also apparently has developed an internal leak because during times between spraying when the motor should remain off it kicks on for two seconds then off for a few seconds then on for two seconds, etc.
PWD RESPONDS: Your unit comes with a one year Factory Warranty- just give the folks at Briggs & Stratton a call at (800) 743-4115 and they will be happy to repair or replace your unit.
They will want the serial number of your pressure washer, so be sure to have that handy when you call. If they ask for a copy of your invoice, just log on to our website (in the upper left corner) using your email address and password. Then just click on the Print Receipt button.

What can I clean next?
Every day I wake up excited looking around for what I can clean next. Cars, trucks, grills, driveway, garage door, patio.... even the hot tub.
I think Ive almost run out of things to clean so Ill ask the neighbor if they want their house pressure washed.....
Yes, this thing is that great and fun to use.
30 foot hose is very handy.
If you are on the fence about getting this just do it... you will be glad you did.

Extremely Pleased
I, like many other reviewers here, did extensive research before choosing this model. I ordered one in mid-April and it arrived on schedule. When I used it for the first time I realized my research had paid off and that I had made the right choice. All the good things everybody else had said about it were true.
Also true, as some have reported, was the fact that the soap tank selector switch was a bit stiff, but not a problem for me. I also had some problems connecting the hose securely. I solved that problem by using a quick-connector kit as has been recommended by others. Its a heck of a lot easier to screw that one little adapter into the garden hose water inlet without trying to tame 50 feet of hose.
I had used my pressure washer on four or five different occasions with very satisfactory results. The last time I used it I got interrupted before finishing my task and planned to resume what I was doing the next day. The next day after getting all hooked up again, when I turned the master switch on nothing happened. I conducted all the normal troubleshooting steps: yes, it was plugged in, and, yes the GFCI was untripped. I put it away and called B & S Customer Service. The rep who was helping me seemed to think the motor had failed and gave me the name of my closest authorized service center where I had planned to take it the next day.
Now for the good part. Not being totally comfortable with what B & S had told me, I decided to call PWD Customer Service and explained my situation. The rep told me he would see what he could do and get back to me. Long story short, when he got back to me it was to tell me PWD was sending me a replacement machine at no charge and with absolutely no hassle.
Everyone who helped me at PWD was extremely courteuous and seemed to be genuinely pleased that they were able to help me.
I know this is supposed to be a review of the machine, but, as much as I like the machine, I have even higher praise for the vendor, Pressure Washers Direct!

Quieter & less messy than gas
I purchased this unit after a great deal of research. Previously I have had gas powered units, but was happy to find an electric quieter and less messy unit with good performance. I have used the unit to clean my lanai, both pad and screens.
The unit works very well, but I have two problems. The detergent tank #1 is very difficult to remove from the base I had to pry it out with a tool. As a result I used the #2 tank for detergent. It worked well for cleaning, but the remaining detergent drained out of the unit onto the ground overnight.
When I return to Fla., I plan to troubleshoot the problem.
Your pressure washer has a 1 year factory warranty, so just give the folks at Briggs & Stratton Tech Support a call at (800) 743-4115; they'll be happy to walk you through troubleshooting the unit & any warranty work that may be needed.

I spent Friday all day doing decks and driveways feeling like I had made the best purchase of my life.
I am sure that is what Briggs & Stratton would like to see.
The truth is I was just that happy with my buy. After doing research on power washers and deciding on this model. I still wasn't sure I had done the right thing. After putting her together out of the box, I was impressed with what appeared to be good quality, but powering the machine up the next morning was a joy.
I was cleaning a drive that had been neglected for a number of years and I was taking up black and green stuff with remarkable ease. That little robo washer got a serious workout and did good.
Enough of that, I recommend this to any homeowner that doesn't want to put up with gas engines and can be happy with a nice designed, well thought out worker bee.

Awesome machine
I just moved into my home where decks and driveway had been badly neglected. After doing research on line this was my choice.
I was impressed starting with opening the box. I spent all day Friday washing drives and decks. I was really impressed with the power and ease of working with the machine.
The fan nozzle worked fairly well but wasn't removing some of the stubborn stains, so I switched to the turbo and wow, I felt like I was taking off concrete.
I recommend the 20358 and not disappointed with the electric over a gas.
PWD RESPONDS: Please be aware that the turbo nozzle is a very focused and powerful spray and use it carefully- it can damage wood, stucco, brick or concrete if you get too close!

Puchased new. Out of the box the detergent control was so stiff- frozen ? The inside of the plastic knob broke. I was able to eventually loosen the control but when adjusted to max. detergent the washer would not inject the solution from either bottle.
I replaced this unit with an AR Blue Clean AR383. The water flow microswitch that is supposed to shut off the pump when the wand trigger is released failed out of the box. I'm not sure ANY electric pressure washer is worth the money.
PWD RESPONDS: Both of those units come with factory warranties to cover problems like yours.

You get what you pay for
This is the third pressure cleaner I have owned in the last 5 years. The unit cost a bit more than the other two and I have to say it shows.
I started with my driveway- it's 110 ft. The driveway looks like new again.
You get what you paid for and in this case for me it was money well spent.

No replacement hose
I bought this pressure washer in April of this year. Used it twice, and was very happy with the performance.
I accidentally dropped a razor knife on the hose and split it. Found out, to my dismay, that there is no replacement hose for this unit. B&S is working with me on an monetary adjustment, but I certainly didn't get what I paid for. I would not recommend this unit.
PWD RESPONDS: Our contact at Briggs & Stratton explained that to replace the hose the unit requires an extensive disassembly exposing the motor and other internal components which could create additional water leaks or electrical problems. Even the hose reel would need to be disassembled.
Should warranty issues arise with the hose during the warranty period, Briggs & Stratton will replace the unit. Even though the warranty does not cover wear and tear (such as a knife cut), they are happy to work something out for you.

A WELL THOUGHT OUT PRESSURE WASHER!
First I would like to thank the Inside Sales/Product Expert, who patiently answered my questions about various products and who honestly and completely explained the good and not-so-good features of the various pressure washers.
I have used commercial grade equipment, and it will get the job done quicker and can take a lot of banging around.
This Briggs and Stratton 20358 does not have as much raw cleaning power so it will take longer to do large surfaces.
As my main purpose was to clean stucco, this unit has plenty of power for that, as too much pressure can destroy the stucco.
It is an attractive unit in colorful plastic that shows quite a lot of engineering thought. The electric motor only runs when you squeeze the trigger and it is so quiet you can use it early in the morning without waking the neighbors.
It moves easily, is well balanced and resists tipping over.
My time is very limited and once I get the job done I do not want to spend much time and effort in putting the equipment away. The high pressure hose reel and the neat storage arrangement for the electrical cable, along with specific storage sites for the wands, makes cleanup and put away very fast and convenient.
A fifty foot length of 5/8 inch garden hose will coil nicely on the handles, and you then wheel the thing back to its storage.

Plastic connectors
I bought this unit several months ago and really liked it. However after 15 or so uses the plastic thread connection to the hose has worn out and I am unable to connect the hose.

Garden hose connection problem
I just brought my 20358 back from the plumber's shop to have a double female brass fitting installed in the water inlet so that it wouldn't leak.
The problem was that the threads in the plastic nut were cut badly and the female garden hose fitting would not screw in all of the way, so it wouldn't create a leak-free fit.
The plumber screwed the new brass female fitting in tightly so it bottomed out and created as snug fit as B&S hoped it would have.
Then he attached a 3 washing machine hose to the new fitting and I swear that I will NOT take it off EVER!
I haven't used the machine yet because of the leaking problem- now fixed, I hope. I will try it on my gray deck to lighten it.
Pressure Washers Direct has been polite and helpful throughout. I hope this machine works like I hoped it would.
I will let you know.

Completely Satisfied
I looked at a lot of pressure washer features and reviews before settling on this Briggs and Stratton model.
I did not want a gas powered unit as my requirement was general cleaning; plus I did not want to put up with the noise and fumes of gas powered model, but wanted a pressure washer that is reliable with enough power to clean my back deck and fence plus wash the car and garage floor.
I cannot say how it worked on the car and garage floor as those tasks are yet to be tried, but on the deck and fence it has been great using the wand with the swirl head.
I especially like the the ability to roll and stow the hose inside the cart. The fact that the electrical cord has a built-in GFI and can be stowed in the bottom is also great.
Additional plus factors are the brand name of Briggs and Stratton and especially the fact that the electric motor is induction and the axial pump is the same as their gas powered units.
It rolls easy unless you have to go over a high garage door threshold but the rubber on the tires makes moving around flat areas a snap.
After the first use of about 2 hours it dawned on me that this washer may solve another problem for me, that being my project to clean a room in the basement where the basement drain is located.
The room floor is concrete and thick with ground-in dirt from the years and, as this unit is electric, I will not have to worry about operating it inside the house.
I ordered this model on Wednesday and it was delivered Friday, but then I live only two states away. With free shipping I felt this was a good purchase; and when it arrived I was surprised at how solid it felt.
I believe Briggs and Stratton have hit a home run with this pressure washer. I was even able to register the unit on line.
I have no complaints so far about this washer and give Pressure Washers Direct kudos for their website's guide to buying a pressure washer.

Very Satisfied, Would buy again.
My first pressure washer. I needed something to rejuvenate my 5 year old cedar deck. Read horror stories about electrics, a little hesitant, but paid a premium for this unit.
Shipped super quick, within a few days. Had more than enough power to clean a 10x14 deck plus partition fencing- hard to believe others said it was underpowered. Had to be careful not to gouge wood.
Very simple and easy to use. I agree with some other reviewers about detergent knob being hard to turn, but I won't use the detergent dispenser anyway.
The low power setting is so low it is better to use a garden type sprayer to apply detergent, etc. than the washer itself. Just one more thing to potentially go wrong and having to clean and flush it seems like a pain if you don't use machine much, like me.
The one side tank would not come out and I had to pry out with a screwdriver. It is a bit heavy, but that's not necessarily a negative.
The one thing I found a little annoying is holding squeezing the gun requires quite a lot of pressure and if you have a large task like I did, it becomes hard to squeeze.
Seems like a solid, well built unit, fit & finish very good, except for the cheap knobs!

I ordered from Pressure Washers Direct. Their sales person knowledgeable and friendly.
I received the unit in good time. I was slightly disappointed as I have a 13 year old Karcher that is a 1200PSI unit and did not see an appreciable difference in cleaning power.
The spray wand on the B & S could have been a higher quality. I liked all the features on the B & S.
I gave it a good workout on my 200 foot driveway. It is VERY sensitive to ANY air in the line. But I discovered all you do is shut down the motor, let the water flow a minute and all is well. You have to do this several times when you start using the unit.
I try every time to bleed the waterline before I start but the small bubbles always seem to still be there for a few minutes. So far the best for cleaning concrete is the turbo nozzle.
I am happy with the dealer and unit.

Great Product
Works great. Plenty of pressure for what I need.
I borrowed a 2500PSI gas unit last year and could not lower the pressure enough and had a hard time trying not to damage things.
This unit is very easy to set as low as you want and highest pressure is still enough to get you in trouble if your not careful.
The roll-up hose and cord storage work well to keep everything stowed away neatly.
It is well built and heavy enough so that it does not tip over, but I would not want to carry it very far or up/down a lot of stairs very often

Problems with detergent tanks
This unit doesn't have as much pressure as my old Karcher 330 rated at only 1300 psi.
I have tried both solution tanks and have been unable to get either to work. I plan to call customer service soon. If they cannot successfully resolve these two items I plan to return this unit.

Good Machine
Got the unit and the design and features are excellent. I too, had trouble with the soap dispensing and then realized that the knob was turning but nothing was happening.
I popped the knob off and found that the plastic inside had cracked. I used a small pair of vise grips and turned the inside shaft and the soap dispensed properly.
I called BS and they told me the knobs are not something I can order or are offered as a warranty part and there was nothing to do but return the machine. I thought that was poor customer relations when all that was needed was a replacement knob.
I drilled a hole through the outside knob and added a screw to go into the shaft. Everything works terrific now. I think from reading other reviews that may also be the problem with no soap.
I hope you can pressure BS offer these knobs as a replacement part or to review the poor design of the knob and the required pressure it takes to turn them. I think that they will be getting many complaints about this feature, but it's a minor flaw that is easily fixed.
The wand and spray take getting used to but do the job well.
I would recommend it over other electrics that I have used
PWD RESPONDS: The large majority of the units that ship have no trouble with the soap knob, but Briggs and Stratton is aware of the situation and is working with the factory to improve the soap knob components.

I've used it to clean a large deck and to wash cars, and it performed well.
The soap dispensers and storage features are a big plus.

The second one works great!
I ordered this item in mid-March and received it within a week. I unpacked it and stored it until the weather got nicer to use it. The day came about a week later.
I hooked up the hose, plugged it in and nothing- it didn't work. I called Briggs & Stratton, went through the trouble shooting procedures and we determined that the pump was either defective or damaged in shipping.
I then called Pressure Washers Direct, explained the situation to them and received a replacement unit within two weeks. All told, it took about a month to get a pressure washer that works, but once I got it WOW!
I am satisfied with this unit. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I'm not sure about the detergent tanks yet, I haven't been able to get them to work, but I may have a twist in that line somewhere that is causing the issue.
Great product, once it worked!
PWD RESPONDS: You must slide the adjustable nozzle forward into the low pressure mode- detergent can't be applied with the nozzle in the high pressure position.
Also, please follow the advice in the Owner's Manual about taking out and returning the detergent tank. Care must be taken not to disconnect the hose at the bottom of the tank, and to avoid pinching the hose when you put the tank back in the unit.

Works better than expected
I originally was going to buy a less expensive power washer at a Big Box store but fortunately I read a number of reviews first and opted to get this model instead.
To date, I have used it to clean a couple of wood decks- pressure treated and redwood, concrete sidewalks, and a patio with great success using only water.
The machine works better than expected and I would recommend it highly.

Performed marvelously thus far
Ive used my Briggs and Stratton 1800 PSI Electric Powerwasher three times, cleaning my back porch and sidewalks, vinyl and aluminum siding, and cleaning my Kawasaki Mule of Texas mud and clay.
It has performed marvelously thus far. I especially like the compact design, the power of the pressure washer, and the storage places for the attachments, cords and hoses.
If it performs well for the long haul which I trust it will, I'll recommend it to any homeowner. So far, I love it!

Spray not wide enough
Only problem is the machine does not have a wide enough spray to get the job done effectively.
PWD RESPONDS: This unit has a spray pattern of up to 40 degrees, the same as most other pressure washers. Page 10 of your Owner's Manual shows how to twist the nozzle to adjust the spray pattern from wide to narrow.

Electric Power Washer
We are very pleased with our powerwasher.
We cleaned our sidewalk and driveway one afternoon and our patio and patio furniture a few days later.
It has plenty of power and does an extremely great job.
We would recommend this product to anyone who does an annual cleanup at their home.

So far it is good
We have used the unit about 4 times so far and it has worked as described.
One of the things we like about the unit is the planning that went into the design process. There is a place for everything.
A more positive positioning of the tips and handle would be nice. The wheels are cheap and this is a distraction, but they work. It is a light and efficient unit.

I like the washer; trouble getting the soap to work
I like the washer, particularly the hose reel.
I have not been able to get the soap dispensers to work, but have not quit trying.
PWD RESPONDS: You need to slide the adjustable nozzle forward to get it into the low pressure mode; this unit won't apply soap at high pressure. That's the most common oversight.
The rest of the instructions for using the detergent tanks is on Page 11 of the Owner's Manual. If you need more advice please contact the folks at Briggs & Stratton Tech Support at (800) 743-4115.

Worked as expected
I recently received this Briggs and Stratton pressure washer. With all the features and specifications listed, the washer worked as expected.
The hose reel is a great feature and the power cord wraps up nicely on the rear of the chassis. I mainly have used it for car washing, so the yellow adjustable nozzle is the only one I used.
The body on this washer is all plastic which is acceptable due to the weight would otherwise be too heavy. The washer feels sturdy.
The motor is quiet and responds when squeezing the trigger. I also bought an accessories kit for underbody and gutter cleaning. I wanted to spray the underbody of my car ,and this kit has an angled adapter for this purpose.
The only problem I have with this kit is that it comes with a turbo-type nozzle, and I would prefer a nozzle with a little wider spray pattern. I hope to find a nozzle that works with the wand in the kit.
