4 Questions
Q: Is this strong enough to clean a deck efficiently? by Karen Snyder from Virginia on May 06, 2011
A: Depending upon what you are looking to accomplish, this would be able to clean a deck. What it really comes down to is whether or not you are looking to remove paint or just looking to clean. If you are looking to strip paint, this unit would have a tough time, but to clean it can.
The only reason to go higher in psi and gpm would be to get the job done faster.
Q: Bill - If I hook this unit to a storage tank that would be my water source would I need any extra equiptment to supply pressure to this wahser or all I have to do is connect it and let it rip by Felix Vaughn from Georgia on May 04, 2011
A: I would not suggest using this unit with a tank. It can be done by using a gravity feed, but you really should be looking at a unit with a self priming pump. Karcher would be a better option.
Q: how do you start the gas-cold water pressure washer model #20458 I bought it at a second hand store and i dont have a manual it is a briggs and stratton by Merle from Iowa on April 30, 2011
A: First you want to connect all hoses to the pressure washer. Then turn the water on and allow water to run through the machine for a couple minutes to remove all the air in the lines. Next you want to flip the on/off switch to on position and turn the choke lever to the on position. Simply keep the trigger gun depressed and pull the starter cord. The unit should be fully operational at this point.
Also, if you vist Briggs & Stratton's website, you can download a copy of the owner's manual online. by Bill, Product Expert
Model: 20458 Seems like this is a pretty good buy for patios and driveways. I had a 2100psi 6 HP i bought at Home Depot that lasted 13 years. What do you think? Russell
by Russell Brooks from Florida on March 29, 2011
A: Briggs & Stratton make great quality residential pressure washers. As long as you maintain this pressure washer it will hold up for many years. This model would definitely perform well in your application. by Bill, Product Expert

Good Unit
Borrowed one of these units and used it for about a week with no trouble with almost constant use. I will be purchasing one soon.
The only down side is that the fuel tank is too small for the unit. Generally get about 20 minutes of run time out of a tank of fuel and it likes fuel.

Poor me
Alas, I finally own a great pressure washer and I'm too weak to start it most of the time. I can do one start every few hours. I am left handed, but do do not have a rotator cuff on that side. Ive tried it right handed, but cannot do it. Have to have someone else start it.

Great Deal!!!!
Just received my Briggs and Stratton Model 20458 pressure washer and it was delivered a day earlier than quoted and it was a breeze to assemble and get running.
The only down side is that it's a gas hog. I only washed our back patio, 4 chairs and two tables and I had to refill it 3 times. On the up side, I like the fact that the inlet and outlet ports are parallel to the ground, keeping them from getting damaged by rolling the unit over uneven ground.
But, it works like a champ and and I would recommend this unit to any DIYer!
