Q: what kind of oil do I put in the cat pump by Craig from California on August 22, 2011
A: The recommended oil for all CAT PUMPs is the CAT PUMP brand synthetic pump oil. However, the oil that is required is a fully synthetic non detergent 30W pump oil. We carry a Briggs & Stratton version of this oil, the product number is 6033. See link below:
Q: I have a cat pump 2sfx30gs pump, which grey material was oozing out of the red breather, may have got water in it.It has not seized up yet.if i drain it do you know how much oil it takes and what grade??? by David from Oregon on June 07, 2011
A: If you are oozing grey material, you have water in your oil and this means one of your seals have gone on the pump. You need to fix this first before you bother to drain, because it will just happen again. You should be able to get a repair kit for this pump. We do not carry the repair kits, but there is other retailers that do sell it.

Q: 3gx27t pump should oil in pump be to red dot on sight gauge with washer off or on? and what kind of oil do you use? by Anonymous on April 29, 2011
A: The oil level in the sight glass should be at the middle of the red dot when the machine is off. As for what oil to use, CAT PUMPS recommends that you use CAT PUMP branded pump oil however you can use any fully synthetic pump oil. We carry a Briggs & Stratton synthetic pump oil that would work just fine.
I am posting a link below to the pump oil I am referring to:
Q: I have a EXP3640 With a 13hp honda ohv motor. Iwant to replace the pump with a CAT pump. How do I know which pump I will need. by Leslie Todd from Georgia on April 17, 2011
A: With that HP size Honda engine, it will more than likely have a 1" shaft. That is the first step in determining which pump is compatible. You should always measure the engine shaft size before searching for a replacement pump. This CAT PUMP has a 3/4" shaft and will probably not be compatible with your existing engine.
If the engine has a 1" shaft, you will have to purchase a replacement pump rated above 3000 psi. We offer many different brand of pumps with that shaft size. If you are looking for a CAT PUMP as a replacement, you would want to purchase the 66DX version from CAT PUMP. I posted a link below to the product.
Q: where do you add the oil in a preasure washer pump by Richard Forrester from Alabama on April 04, 2011
A: Certain style pumps cannot have the oil changed or added. These are sealed pumps and will normally be labeled as "Axial Cam" style pumps. "Triplex Plunger" style pumps can have oil added and/or changed. If you have this type of pump, there will be a fill port on top of the pump that unscrews. You will also have a threaded plug on the bottom of the pump so that you can drain the old used oil. by Bill, Product Expert

Great value
The pressure washer I purchased from Pressure Washers Direct was received when promised without any problems or defects.
The equipment works well and is a great value. I also purchased an extension wand for washing hard to reach eaves on the house.
This equipment was received when promised and without any problems. When I was deciding which equipment to purchase, I called Pressure Washers Direct on the phone and they were very helpful and answered all my questions.
My experience with PWD is positive. I would recommend this company to anyone needing pressure equipment.

New Cat Pump (sent to customer service)
Got the pump to replace a crappy Karcher pump on my pressure washer. The pump is very nice and works well.
The issues I had are the pump arrived without manufacturers packaging. No instructions, no service information, unwrapped and leaking oil. Additionally it was missing a plug on the back end of the inlet and I had to buy an adapter to hookup the hose. Not sure if this is standard issue for Cat pumps or if I got a recycled one. Only time will tell. Now I just need to dig up the servicing info and find some extra oil.
PWD RESPONDS: We don't sell "recycled" pumps. The pumps are tested before shipment, then drained; so some residual oil may leak into packing materials.
The assumption by the manufacturer is that the pump is being replaced by a professional, so they don't produce a step by step installation guide. We put a link to the installation drawing and the spec sheet on our web page (under the Specs tab, on the right hand side). This information is also available on CAT's web site- www.catpumps.com.
Bare pumps are always shipped without oil. Water pump oil is a 30 weight, non-detergent oil that is easily available at automotive or Big Box stores.

I choose to purchase Cat Pumps when I replace a failed, or worn out pump because they are easy to repair, and when parts are ordered they are delivered direct to my office.
This is my first time to use Pressure Washers Direct, and I will use them again. I ordered my Cat pump on a Thursday evening, and I received the pump on the following Tuesday.
My only problem that has not been corrected is the shippers did not include a packing list or any paper work that would show when the pump was purchased. The pump came with a 1 year warranty, I notified the shippers and am waiting for a reply.
I am pleased with the care that was given to me to be sure that the Cat pump had all hardware to install because the Cat Pump replaced a AR pump.
PWD RESPONDS: You can print out your invoice at any time by clicking on the Login button on the top right corner of our web site, entering your email address and password, and then clicking on the Print Receipt button.
However, we're sure a copy is has already been emailed to you since you requested it.
