I purchased a Cat replacement pump, but the lititure was not very clear that I also needed a regulator for water pressure control which I had to return to purchase on a second purchase.
Not only did I have to make 2 seperate purchases, but there are no directions or schematics with the parts. Otherwise, the parts are of good quality and work well once I was able to work through all of the obstacles.
Unless someone repairs these washers on a regular basis, I would recommend that Pressures Direct offer more information for those who work on their own equipment, even those who have quite a bit of education on equipment repair.
PWD RESPONDS: The replacement pump makers don't include do-it-yourself instructions because they figure the pumps are being purchased by repair shops who have the service manuals available for the units they are working on.
You may be able to get the service manual for your unit by contacting CAT directly at www.catpumps.com.
We are sorry you had to make a second purchase; but there are so many configurations of pump/unloader/regulator that we can't address them individually.
We'll be happy to add a note to the product pages about getting a service manual and checking for additional parts needed.
