Clean Force 1800 PSI (Electric-Cold Water) Pressure Washer

I purchased this pressure washer for home use, deck, house, boat etc. It may have 1800 psi but the volume is not sufficient. My garden hose with a good spray nozzle works just as good.

The second time I went to use it the high pressure hose parted at a seam on the inside of the unit, and it is impossible to get these plastic pieces of junk apart without breaking fasteners.

Then to top it all off the hose is only warranted for 90 days. So goodbye $169.00, hello XXXX Rental (to rent a good pressure washer).

PWD RESPONDS: 1800 PSI should be much stronger than your garden hose- you may want to check that the filter screen where the garden hose connects to your pressure washer is clear of grit and debris, and that you are using a large volume garden hose that is 30 feet or less.

There are no user serviceable parts inside consumer-grade electric pressure washers. The motor and pump are warranted for 2 years, and the spray gun, hose, wand, tips and other accessories are warranted for ninety (90) days from the date of purchase by the folks at Clean Force.

If the rupture is inside the unit, then it is a pump issue and you should contact Clean Force, toll free, at 1-866-902-9690. Please be sure to have the serial number of your unit handy when you call them; they will need it for the warranty claim.

Per my prior review-

I installed a quick connect fitting on the water hose inlet at the bottom of the unit, it threads in sweet and very tight- much better.
I installed the new 50' 14MM connectorized hose(with the new15-14mm adapter that is needed to make this possible)
Installed the new trigger/gun (had to because of the inlet size of the CF gun was 15MM- hose is 14mm)

Gun on ebay- $33=inc S&H
Adapter $7 inc S&H
Hose$55
Quick fitting adapter for bottom of unit, $6

= $101 in upgrades

Verdict-

Used it pretty hard today for the 1st time with these changes, and it worked much better than it did before, no cycling once it got primed up, no hose popping out of the unit, no having to move the unit(cumbersome design) because it now has a reasonable length hose.

I'm hoping that by leaving the unit's hose on the reel I won't have any problems with it.

Now that it's actually usable, we'll see how long it lasts....hopefully awhile, but if not, I'll have a spare hose, gun, and quick connect for the gas one that I will personally purchase next time.

I upgraded it to 2 stars, because with these changes it worked fine today, but these changes have now made this unit cost $280, and you can get a better gas unit for that $, so it's still not worth the money....and aggravation!

PWD RESPONDS: Please check your Owner's Manual carefully; on many consumer electric pressure washers the hose reel is for storage only; it's not meant to hold the hose while it's pressurized.

Starting with a brand like AR or Karcher may save you money in the long run on accessories- AR accessories fit AR products; Karcher accessories fit Karcher products; etc.

Once you step up into a gas unit, fittings are usually only 1/4", 3/8", or M22 (metric) so it's a little easier to customize your setup.

I can't even walk around my entire pickup truck with their dinky hose, so I bought an adapter/coupler and an extension hose....ya right, the fitting is a 15 MM instead of the common USA 14MM...I had to track down a 15-14MM adapter on Ebay just to use the extension hose, so of course I also need a new trigger/gun, because THAT is a 15 MM, and won't fit on the 14MM extension hose that is absolutely necessary with this unit because not only is the hose too short to do a simple pickup truck, the design is so poor it doesn't move around easily, and the hose keeps popping off the cheesy plastic.

It would also cycle slow...then fast...then slow sometimes (not always), like it was priming, but the water pressure is fine, and I was looking over at it to make sure the hose fitting was tight, and it was at that time (move it around and it popped out).

So far I have washed my truck with it twice, and I finally gave up the way it was because it was pathetic.

I bought a new 50' hose, a fitting to couple it (because of MANY hose complaints, I won't even unravel it...EVER!) to the unit, and a new trigger/gun just so it will be usable.

When the motor blows, I will toss it in the trash where it belongs, and buy a gas unit that has REAL wheels and is solid.

I didn't buy this, someone else did, and it was brand new when I started using it.....I would not even recommend this to my enemies.

"Hey look at that warranty, isn't that great?" No, they don't answer the phone, when you do contact them, they are rude, and don't have the parts anyway...2-3WEEKS? Are you serious?!

Look elsewhere.

PWD RESPONDS: Sometimes a garden hose longer than 30 feet can cause cycling, because not enough water volume is getting to the pump. You could also check the inlet filter for grit or debris, and make sure that if you're using an extension cord it is 12 gauge or heavier.

PWD RESPONDS: There are so many high pressure connector sizes that it can get downright confusing. You may be more comfortable with brands that have their own accessory lines, like Karcher and AR.

Although please be aware that those brands have their own unique fittings, so they are not interchangeable- only AR accessories fits AR pressure washers.

It gets a little bit easier once you get into gas units, but there are still several kinds and sizes to choose from.

After Threatening Them and Having Filed a Complaint With Point of Purchase, They Finally Called Back and Said They Were "Too Busy to Return Every Phone Call". So, If You Have a Simple Question, Good Luck.

Pwd Responds: Most Manufacturers Have a Short Warranty Period On Hoses Because They Burst If They Get Kinked Under Pressure, They Burn Through If They Hit a Hot Muffler On a Gas Unit, and They Can Get Sliced If They'Re Dragged Across Sharp Landscape Features. Those Are Not Warranty Issues Since They Are Use-Related, Not Defects in Manufacture.

I bought this machine from another company. The machine worked great- lots of pressure, cleaned my deck in two sessions.

I put the machine up for a month (I take good care of my equipment and tools, and I stored the machine properly and this is not my first pressure washer), hooked the machine up, started to clean... and the hose blew.

I got the same helpful response from the Clean Force company: "Oh, well, buy a new hose, but we don't have them".

I left an old p/w back in New England when we moved to VA. I really wish I still had that old, made in the USA p/w. It will probably keep running like a 72' Nova.

I bought this from another company on Saturday and wanted to use it that day . I had used it for 5 minutes when the M22 fitting at the end of the hose that connects to the wand blew off from the hose, the fitting had not been compressed correctly.

I called the company today about the defective hose, and I was told they do not have the part. That I should call back in 2/3 weeks about purchasing the replacement part. First a company should have the part for their products, and I ask why would I need to purchase the hose, when it is covered by the 90day warranty.

I was informed that if I did not buy it from Home Depot then I was not covered by a warranty. That I had only 2 chooses to return it to Home Depot and ask them to exchange it or to buy an new unit, why would I want buy another unit if the first one was crap and they do not stand by their warranty.

This was easy to put together, but I wonder if the folks who design these ever use them. The handle for the electrical cord will unscrew and drop off if you crank it in the normal clockwise direction to take in the cord. I cranked it backwards to make it work. The same thing is true of the hose, which it is not possible to crank backwards, so the handle is always falling off.

After six hours of use, and after I had sprayed detergent on the walk, the pressure washer's connector to the garden hose broke off, making the entire unit unusable. I took it back and got a full refund.

As an afterthought, in case any designers are reading this, why can't you put the pressure hose on one side of the unit, and but BOTH the garden hose input and the electrical cord on the OTHER side. For me, the water and the electricity are always coming from the same direction, and the job to be done with the pressure hose is on the opposite side. As it is now, the unit is very awkward to move in an upright position on its wheels.
