Q: If this unit is stored in an outside garage in Minn. what winter preps must be taken. Draining etc.. Will it keep water inside that will freeze? If so how do you drain it?
by Anonymous from Minnesota on December 04, 2011

A: In order to store this machine in that condition, you will need to first run fuel thru the machine that has fuel stabilizer in it. Then you must drain the gas tank prior to storage. As for the pump, you should disconnect the high pressure hose from the pump and then slowly pull the recoil cord on the engine to drain the pump as much as possible. Finally, run a pump saver chemical thru the pump until it is discharging out of the pump outlet. At this point, the machine is winterized and will be ok for cold storage.

We offer a few different pump saver chemicals. I am posting a link below to the ones we carry:

Pump Savers

Q: what feature do I look for in a power washer so I don't have to keep pulling the trigger on the sprayer to relieve the pressure on pump. Can I get this type of feature without buying a professional grade power washer. I
any suggestions I would like to keep under $600.00 if possible.

by Thomas Lyons from Pennsylvania on June 25, 2011

A: When looking into a gas unit, there is not going to be any washer that would keep you from having to pull the trigger. The reason for this is you want to keep pulling the trigger because if your are not pulling the trigger the pump is just circulating water and this is called bypass mode and is very bad for the pump. The only other option would be to get a pressure washer, like a Dirtkiller that can run in bypass of hours, otherwise, the more you do this, the less life you give the pump.

Q: Can you explain the difference between a siphon tube and a chemical innjection kit?

Refer to question #1 under the Q & A

by Carmine from New Hampshire on June 13, 2011

A: The difference is going to be the siphon tube is going to be a tube coming off of the pump, that would pull chemical from a bucket on low pressure. The down stream chemical injection is a little different because it keeps the chemical out of the pump and allows you to use a wider range of chemical as well and in some instances you can dispense detergent at high pressure as well. With siphon tube you are only going to be able to dispense soap at low pressure.

Q: Does this dewalt 3000psi triplex Cat pump washer, model DH3028 have a direct siphon for chemical injections, cleansers, etc., or do i have to have a siphon hose put on pump? This is the major variable before buying this product
by Brandt Bays from Florida on May 21, 2011

A: This unit would have a siphon tube that comes with the pump to draw chemical. If you were looking to use something other than pressure washer safe chemicals, you really would want a down stream chemical injection kit as well.

Q: Hi!
Do you have a hose reel that will mount directly on this unit? If so, let me know - THANKS!

by Matt from Pennsylvania on May 03, 2011

A: We don't have a hose reel to mount directly on the unit. We do have some after market reels, but you would have to fabricate something to make this stay on.

Q: will this washer pull water from a tank?
by Anonymous on April 17, 2011

A: No this machine will not pull water from a standing source. The only brands that are capable of this are Karcher, Kranzle, and DirtKiller. With this Dewalt model, you would have to gravity feed the water into the machine and make sure that you are supplying the machine with at least 3 gallons per minute. If the tank could not put out that much water, you would have to attach a booster pump to the supply line.

Good, But Not That Good
No instruction booklet, and I had to figure some stuff out on my own as even online info is not helpful. Having said that, the unit is easy to use. I added a 50ft power hose and a extension cleaning wand to reach roofs and siding.
Pros: Easy To Use, Quiet, Price, Easy To Store
Cons: Bad Instructions, Siphon Not Relialbe

Really Like It
I just got my new DeWalt DH3028. I really like it, but I have a very hard time to start up this machine. I think maybe I flow with to much gas.

I had to open the muffler and kind up clean up inside but later on I have not problem starting it up.

I will start my own business- I'm going to get more of this kind, special with a Honda motor.
