Q: Will the sandblasting kit work with the Generac model 5993? by Dave Siembida from New Mexico on January 02, 2012
A: If you're talking about the General Pump Sandblasting kit DSDBK1, then I'm sorry, but the Generac 5993 won't work with it.
The DSDBK1 requires at least 3 GPM (gallons per minute of water) through the pump; the pump on the 5993 maxes out at 2.8 GPM. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: I'm considering the Generac Prosumer 3000 psi pressure washer and see it has a 3 year warranty. What is covered and where would I have to take/ship it for service? by Walter Slocombe from Louisiana on May 23, 2011
A: This is going to cover anything on the unit that is manufacturer defect. So if for instance the engine goes in less than 3 years and it is due to nothing you have done to it, then it would be covered. Typically on hoses, guns, and nozzles, these are more or less 90 days, because these are deemed wear and tear items. If you needed service, you can take this to just about any Generac servicing dealer and they would do service on this washer. Generac service centers are all over the place due in part to them having so many generators on the market.
Q: have a log home need to use bleech to restore, looking at generac prosumer 3000 or the karcher with the honda engine what are your is your advice..thanks russ hudson by Russ Hudson from Michigan on May 04, 2011
A: This unit would work for what you would like to do, but I would strongly suggest you not use the bleach through the pump. By using the bleach and running through the pump of the pressure washer, you will void your warranty and damage your seals.
If you want to use bleach, I would suggest either a high pressure soap shooter or another attachment using detergent, but keeping the detergent out of the pump.

Bill's Recommendation
Prosumer grade units are the bridge between Consumer and Professional units. This brawny group of pressure washers are meant for larger projects- farms, estates, and small businesses.
Generac is known for it's quality power equipment, and their new pressure washer line will fit right in.
A strong engine, triplex pump, and pro-style spray gun, wheels, and cart supply a lot of bang for your pressure washer buck.

Amazed
Right out of the box...amazed. Easy set up. First clean was amazing. Easy to use. Powerful and sturdy.
If this had a detergent tank on the unit it would be even better. Maybe something to consider in the future design ideas for Generac.
Would recommend this to anyone. Quiet motor, ergonomically easy to use. Motor seems good, pump seems good. I am looking forward to my next use!

Works great
i bought this to use for hurrican irene cleanup. my town was devastated by floods7ft of water on the ground floor of most houses in the villageand all dirtysilty water. i have been contracted to repair many peices of equipment that were totally submergedmowers, tractors, small engine, equipment, generators etc.
i have used my pressure washer for about 5 hours, and it does a great job. my service truck and 24ft trailer were covered in a very fine siltymud that was in everything just from driving down the roads, aiding in the cleanup. the car wash in the next town couldnt get most of it off. the generac does a great job, and everything is nice and clean.
my tractor spent 3 weeks in the town doing cleanup, and was completely covered in mudinsulationdiesel fueldustsheetrocklimestonesilt you get the point, and stunk like stagnant water and diesel fuel. i spent 2 hours washing ti, and it looks like new.
the generac starts great, runs great, and does a great job. i should have bought it sooner! it certainly is worth the $ i paid for it.

Gets the job done
The price was right on this unit I did my homework on pricing. I bought this unit to start a part time power washing company doing vinyl siding.
The motor's quiet but you have to release the presure off the wand about three or more times to get it started. You need more horse power in a 3800 series to do pressure washing above 12 ft.
This unit works well at lower levels.

Great Pressure Washer
So far I have used my pressure washer twice for extended periods. No problems.
This thing is solidly built, great motor, starts every time. Make sure you check your pump oil level and fill the engine properly with the correct oil.
Good power, very comfortable wand, really good quality hose and fittings, no leaks at all. It is much quieter than I expected.
So far I have cleaned my brick and driveway and porches with it, and it is amazing how much crud this pressure washer removes. Very pleased with my purchase. It's easy to put together too!
No buyer's remorse on this one. None at all.
Now, which accessories to buy..........

Schweet!!!
This is by far the best PW I have owned.
I got tired of not being able to clean how I wanted quickly. This PW does the job.... plus.
Started out of the box first pull of course, after assembly and adding oil and gas. Haven't had the best weather to really put it through the mill, but I am confident it will do the job.
The proof will be in two years to see if it makes it. Our other PWs only lasted that long. I do have to say that I will not be loaning this one out either.

Well built
This is a rugged, extremely well built washer that is superior to others I have had, including a Karcher 3000 psi and a Campbell Hausfeld.
When they say 3000 psi they mean 3000 psi. Hose provided is bullet proof and I love the quick disconnects at both ends. Gas tank is steel and, unlike the plastic one on one of my previous washers, will not need replacement when the seams start leaking.
All controls and attachment points are located in convenient locations and there is a gas shutoff, but I would prefer the On/Off switch being more visibly placed.
Because of how the frame wraps around and above the motor and pump, it also should allow a hose reel to be retrofitted without difficulty.
Would have preferred the gas cap lid being attached e.g. with a chain so it cannot be misplaced when refilling. One concern I do have is that the gas tank is right next to the muffler. If you overfill or splash gas when refilling, gas can come in contact with the hot muffler and, potentially, cause a fire or explosion. I plan on adding some type of splash guard to insure this does not happen.
Overall, I am very happy and would rate this washer a great buy.
