I've started this unit about a dozen times, and it starts on the 1st pull if the choke is not used. The unit ran perfectly for all of the 12 hours I have used it.

It is well balanced, & rolls with ease. The only issue is the pressure regulator: it slowly turns itself to a lower pressure if not turned fully/tight to the highest pressure. This is a manufacturing problem that needs to be solved.

Suggestion: Hose & wand are quality, thus very heavy. Wand tube is long & should be supplied with two lengths, second about half the length of the one that came with it. Back force from the pressure stream offsets the weight of the wand if pointed down but adds to it if pointed up.

Consider this unit for drive/street/ground/downward use. Accessorize with a lighter wand & hose, & use the regulator to reduce the pressure if you want to use it to clean something high.

I used both the pressure washer and the surface cleaner for pavers in my driveway and pool deck. Going from a 2800 PSI washer with wand onl to this 4000 with surface cleaner, I went from 3 hours on the paver driveway to under 1 hour.

Power is awesome. I love the throttle control and PSI control knobs. I like how the pressure washer is more "upright" and not so wide and low to the ground (a smaller "footprint"). This takes up less storage room in the garage.

I also used an MTM Hydro ball valve opened half-way to use the hose as a power sprayer without the wand. That allows a wide powerful stream to flush dirt and mud created with the surface cleaner. This method also allows a great way to wash the car without using the wand and running the risk of damaging paint.

The price is not cheap, but it is a good price for this level of machine (compared to many others). This should last me forever with only using it around the house. LOVE THEM BOTH!!

When I first got it I thought it was going to be a good pressure washer but have been very disappointed. After a couple weeks of having it, the plastic rope carrier for the recoil broke so I had to bring that in to get it fixed.

Then it worked well for a bit but then the real problems started. Anytime the pressure washer would be under a load (holding down the trigger) it would run for about 30 seconds and then it would bog down and shut down every time. So then I brought it to their authorized repairers and they said they were able to fix it for me but when ever I got home and tested it out I had the same problem.

So I brought it back in again and they kept it for a few days and said they fixed it again which they didn't so I am now stuck with out a working pressure washer. This also cost me almost $100 because they said it wasn't covered under warranty. So I called Generac again today and asked what they could do to make this right and they said there was nothing that they could do.

I am very disappointed with this pressure washer and with Generac and will definitely not be buying one of there products again.

PWD RESPONDS: If the unit works at the repair shop but not at your house, the problem may not be with the unit. You may want to check your water supply. If you don't have enough back pressure (volume of water) flowing in, the pump will not work properly.

This can be caused by using a garden hose longer than 50 feet; it can also be caused by using a well that doesn't make enough water to keep up with the pump. This pump will not self prime, so it should not be used with a water tank.

Warranty repairs are covered for defects in materials or workmanship. The warranty will not cover repairs for wear and tear, or abuse- which is why the unit has to be looked at by an Authorized Repair technician.

Real easy, would do business again.

Free Shipping great but $50.00 for a truck with a lift gate or have a loading dock. Just who has a loading dock at there house. Could not sit home waiting for the delivery so had to pay aditional money and hope my 110 lbs wife could handle it- she did.

Should come up with a better way to deliver or hide the extra cost. Other then the shipping extras everything was as promised and will do business in the future. Yes, would Recommend!!!

PWD RESPONDS: Since the freight companies call to set up a delivery time before hand, many of our customers round up some friends & neighbors to help them unload; or they have farm equipment that can reach a truck bed.

Some folks have their large unit delivered to their workplace with a loading dock, or to a friend with a front loader. We'd rather be up-front about the charges and let our customers decide what works best for them.
