Q: Hi,

Are the quick connect nozzles for the Generac 2700 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch?

by Kevin from Minnesota on July 30, 2013

A: The quick connect spray nozzles that come with this machine are 1/4".
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Does the Generac 2700 psi pressure washer have a shaft driven pump? if not what kind of pump is it?
by Mike from Ohio on May 01, 2013

A: Yes, the Generac model 6022 uses a direct drive/shaft driven axial cam AR brand pump. This AR pump is a sealed, maintenance free pump.
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Does the Generac 2700 psi pressure washer have a low oil shut-off?
by Brian from Pennsylvania on February 13, 2013

A: Yes, all of the residential grade Generac brand pressure washers use a Generac OHV engine with a low oil level shut down feature built in.
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Hi, could you please tell me if this (Generac 2700 PSI) has adjustable pressure levels? Thank you.
by Dan from Illinois on April 09, 2012

A: No, this Generac model 6022 does NOT have an adjustable pressure unloader valve installed on the pump. The only way you can adjust the pressure on this pump is by switching out the spray tips on the wand. The full psi rating comes from the red zero degree tip and the other tips reduce the pressure by about 150 psi each.
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Reading the manual, I am not clear on how to go from detergent washing to rinsing quickly. Can you just unhook the siphon hose to the detergent bottle and clean it later?
by Bill on March 13, 2012

A: Yes, you can definitely remove the siphon hose from the detergent bottle and clean it later. However, it really isnt necessary. The way you go from water to detergent or detergent to water is by changing out the black spray tip that is included. You do not NEED to remove the siphon hose from the detergent container during operation but you can if you would like to.

In order to pull and spray detergent thru the siphon hose, you must use that black detergent spray tip that is included with the machine. Without it, you will NOT be able to spray detergent. To go back to rinsing, simply remove the black tip and insert any other tip that would be appropriate for that specific job.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Q: Bill,
I'm home owner looking for a power washer. Intended use is to clean lawn furniture, my dock, house siding---cedar shakes, and other power equipment. What would you recommend.

by Joe Tansey from New York on June 17, 2011

A: You can do gas or electric, but gas gives you the most options to do whatever you like. Something in the 2500 psi to 3000 psi would be more than ok. If you are looking to ever remove some paint, 3000 psi would then be your best bet and anything higher from there would be getting the job done quicker.

Thanks,

Q: I see the Generac 6022 has a "soap" nozzle. I also see the "ladder saver" will not work if your pressure washer requires a "black tip".

Will the ladder saver work with the Generac 6022?

Will the ladder ssver work with the Briggs & Strattton 20418?

by John from Georgia on May 15, 2011

A: You can use the ladder saver with either of these models. The only problem is you cannot dispense soap with the ladder saver and would have to purchase a down stream chemical injector. Basically what you would be doing would be keeping the detergent out of the pump.

Thanks,

by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Does the psi of water flow going into the washer have to be 50 psi. Can it be less and still function properly?
by Tim from South Carolina on May 14, 2011

A: The pressure going into the pump does make a difference, but what you can do is take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it up, if you are able to do this in under 1 minute, you should have enough flow in order to use the pressure washer. Another thing to keep in mind would be the length of water hose you would be using going into the pump. This can dimish flow and pressure as well.

Thanks,

Q: Bill,
I have a question about the power washers. I'm looking for a power washer with a brass pump. Does the Generac or Briggs & Stratton 2700 PSI pressure washers have brass pumps?
Thank you,
Norman Purzycki

by Norman Purzycki from Michigan on April 30, 2011

A: Both Generac and Briggs & Stratton have pumps installed on their units that have aluminum housings (body) with brass heads. This is going to be typical on all residential grade gas pressure washers.
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: What is the warranty and how would I would it get fixed if there was a problem?
by David from Pennsylvania on April 18, 2011

A: This model comes with a 2 yr. manufacturer's warranty. If you were to have any mechanical issues with the unit within that timeframe, you would simply contact Generac directly for a location of a Generac authorized service center. You may also visit their website www.generac.com to find a location in your area. The service center would then inspect the machine and make any necessary repairs under the warranty at no charge to you.

Just What I Wanted
This pressure washer is just what I wanted. I researched and compared for a couple weeks before I purchased it.

It was packaged well. It was simple to put together- I added the supplied oil, put gas in it, and it started the 2nd pull.

I have used it approximately 25 hours so far, it starts the 1st or 2nd pull every time and runs flawlessly. So far I am very satisfied with this purchase, and thank you P.W.D. for making ordering so easy... and the FREE shipping was quick and great.
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Reliable, I'd Buy It Again

Warranty Shop Said "do Not Buy This Machine".
I purchased this pressure washer on line and received it in a relatively good time. I put it together, put oil in it, filled with gas. Followed the starting instructions per the book...it ran for 1-2 seconds then shut off. Would not start again no matter what I did. I called warranty dept. and they gave me the name of 2 warranty shops in my area (one has been out of business for 2+ yrs., the other hasn't done warranty work for Generac for over a year).

I found a shop on my own, and... more

Jerry,
Here is a link to Generac's Service Locator; it's also at the bottom of every page of our web site under Product Support- Service Centers.

We sell hundreds of Generac units each month, and the reviews are sent in by real customers like yourself. We keep a close eye on the percentage of trouble reports against sales, and factor that in when we select units for our Recommendations.

If a particular unit or manufacturer's failure percentage starts climbing, we will work with the manufacturer to solve the problem (better packing, different components, etc). If the manufacturer can't or won't solve the problem we take them off our web site to protect our customers.

Your pressure washer has a 2 year Consumer Use Warranty, so even if the worst prediction by the service tech is true Generac will still repair or replace your pump after a year. The service location would have to bill Generac- not you. This calls their motivation into question... do they have a pressure washer they would like to sell you instead, perhaps?

If you aren't happy with the repair you can report the service facility to Generac by emailing "retailcustomersupport@generac.com"

I Finally Did It
I'd been looking for about 6 months when I stumbled on the PWD website. Their price was better than any other I could find.

After finding out about Generac I decided to give them a try. When I finally decided to use the unit it really started on the FIRST pull.

My main goal was to wash my house but have some other options such as boat and car. I believe this unit will do what I need it to based on my first experience with the house.

Slow Generac Warranty Service
Bought pressure washer from Pressure Washers Direct. Excellent service from them from sales to delivery.

First day of use the 25 ft high pressure hose busted. Called Generac for warranty service on hose. After a few phone calls they eventually took three weeks to replace the hose. In the meantime my project had to be on hold for three weeks.

Bad warranty service. Buy a brand where you will have better warranty service. First day of use the chain holding the fuel cover for the gas tank... more

I Love It!
I had a pressure washer for years made by Karcher; the pump was always screwed up. Couldn't find an economical replacement pump because the shaft coupler on this model was unique (hex head socket) and nobody apparently makes one. I tried everything and finally gave up and decided to buy a new washer made BY ANYBODY BUT KARCHER.

Researched for weeks before deciding on the Generac 2700 because it was one of the highest rated washers in this price range. But the big box stores in my area... more

Totally Satisfied...so Far
As a painting contractor, having a reliable pressure washer is a must. My previous one bit the dust after 3 years. I was advised by a small engine mechanic to avoid the box store washers, so I searched online, stumbled across this website, and was intrigued by how much I could learn about different products.

I chose the Generac based on reviews, features, and price. It arrived promptly, and after assembly it fired up on the first pull and cleaned the siding beautifully.

Great Job
I'm 76 and I find this pump very easy to use. Most of the time it will start on the first pull. Easy to hook up and store.

When I get started using this pump I just want to keep going. I even help my friends do their walkways and driveways. Great pump.

Great Buy
Shipping was fast and no problems upon arrival. Put the oil in, gassed up and was power washing anything that moved. Started with no problem.

The four tips that come with do a great job although I'd like to see if there are additional ones that will help with other projects.

Anyway I highly recommend this pressure washer.

Steve,
The MTM Hydro Turbo Nozzle that we list under the Accessories tab is very useful for tough stains on hard surfaces; and the Briggs & Stratton 2nd Story Soap & Rinse Nozzle Kit comes in handy if you have to do any long-range work.

Best Buy I Could Find
I am pleased with lighter weight handle. My old Craftsman was heavy and hard to handle, plus I spent most of my time trying to find parts to fix the pump.

This is very nice unit.

Larry,
A couple simple steps will get you the longest life from your pressure washer pump: never let the pump run dry- always start the water before you start the engine, and make sure your hose is at least 5/8" diameter and delivers enough water to the pump. Never lay the wand down & walk away for more than 5 minutes- water running through the pump keeps the unit cool.

Store the unit where it won't freeze, and use a pump saver product (any brand is fine) over the winter. This will also keep the seals lubricated and prevent hard water scale buildup.

These easy precautions will help you get many useful years from your unit.

Works As Advertised
Replaced a very old Excel that I'd been fighting with for 3 yrs to keep running. This is 1000 times better.

Great pressure for driveway, walks, decks, etc. Borrow your wife's kitchen funnel to load oil and you'll be OK. Started on the second pull. Big wheels make it easy to get where you need it.

The ability to change nozzles while the engine is running is a great time saver. Burned up a pump on my old Excel trying to that ONCE. So, now I can spend time doing the job and not jury... more
