Q: Hi, could you please tell me if this (Generac 2700 PSI) has adjustable pressure levels? Thank you. by Dan from Illinois on April 09, 2012
A: No, this Generac model 6022 does NOT have an adjustable pressure unloader valve installed on the pump. The only way you can adjust the pressure on this pump is by switching out the spray tips on the wand. The full psi rating comes from the red zero degree tip and the other tips reduce the pressure by about 150 psi each. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Reading the manual, I am not clear on how to go from detergent washing to rinsing quickly. Can you just unhook the siphon hose to the detergent bottle and clean it later? by Bill on March 13, 2012
A: Yes, you can definitely remove the siphon hose from the detergent bottle and clean it later. However, it really isnt necessary. The way you go from water to detergent or detergent to water is by changing out the black spray tip that is included. You do not NEED to remove the siphon hose from the detergent container during operation but you can if you would like to.
In order to pull and spray detergent thru the siphon hose, you must use that black detergent spray tip that is included with the machine. Without it, you will NOT be able to spray detergent. To go back to rinsing, simply remove the black tip and insert any other tip that would be appropriate for that specific job.
Q: Bill, I'm home owner looking for a power washer. Intended use is to clean lawn furniture, my dock, house siding---cedar shakes, and other power equipment. What would you recommend. by Joe Tansey from New York on June 17, 2011
A: You can do gas or electric, but gas gives you the most options to do whatever you like. Something in the 2500 psi to 3000 psi would be more than ok. If you are looking to ever remove some paint, 3000 psi would then be your best bet and anything higher from there would be getting the job done quicker.
Q: I see the Generac 6022 has a "soap" nozzle. I also see the "ladder saver" will not work if your pressure washer requires a "black tip".
Will the ladder saver work with the Generac 6022?
Will the ladder ssver work with the Briggs & Strattton 20418? by John from Georgia on May 15, 2011
A: You can use the ladder saver with either of these models. The only problem is you cannot dispense soap with the ladder saver and would have to purchase a down stream chemical injector. Basically what you would be doing would be keeping the detergent out of the pump.
Q: Does the psi of water flow going into the washer have to be 50 psi. Can it be less and still function properly? by Tim from South Carolina on May 14, 2011
A: The pressure going into the pump does make a difference, but what you can do is take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it up, if you are able to do this in under 1 minute, you should have enough flow in order to use the pressure washer. Another thing to keep in mind would be the length of water hose you would be using going into the pump. This can dimish flow and pressure as well.
Q: Bill, I have a question about the power washers. I'm looking for a power washer with a brass pump. Does the Generac or Briggs & Stratton 2700 PSI pressure washers have brass pumps? Thank you, Norman Purzycki by Norman Purzycki from Michigan on April 30, 2011
A: Both Generac and Briggs & Stratton have pumps installed on their units that have aluminum housings (body) with brass heads. This is going to be typical on all residential grade gas pressure washers. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: What is the warranty and how would I would it get fixed if there was a problem? by David from Pennsylvania on April 18, 2011
A: This model comes with a 2 yr. manufacturer's warranty. If you were to have any mechanical issues with the unit within that timeframe, you would simply contact Generac directly for a location of a Generac authorized service center. You may also visit their website www.generac.com to find a location in your area. The service center would then inspect the machine and make any necessary repairs under the warranty at no charge to you. by Bill, Product Expert

Bill's Recommendation
This is an extremely versatile pressure washer. It's strong enough to tackle most household chores, yet affordable enough to match the family budget.
Generac is known for quality power equipment, and this unit is no exception. The engine is a robust 196cc, and it has a sturdy axial cam pump.
We like the completely redesigned cart, too. It's balanced and easy to maneuver, with an easily accessed detergent tank at the bottom. The unique wand holster is in the middle of the frame, where it won't get knocked off in the garage.

Happy with my choice
This is my first pressure washer so I cant compare it to others from personal use. However, I did a good amount of research before selecting the Generac 2700.
After using it on the pool patio, the lanai screen, and some areas on the side of my new house, Im very happy with its performance. Im glad I went with the more powerful gas model.
I was concerned that I might damage the lanai screening, but the nozzle selection allowed me to pick the right pressure to get it clean without blowing holes in it.
Cleaning the patio was actually kind of fun. My concrete and painted patio is not smooth. It has a rough surface so people dont slip around the pool. That surface collects dirt like crazy though, and I cant imagine trying to clean it by hand. The washer made quick work of it without removing the paint.
The washer is easy to use. The engine started on the first or second pull everytime. I gave it four stars only because Ive been told that with the 1/4 inch hose I shouldnt expect good performance with a wand extender. That limits my ability right now to get to the upper reaches of the lanai.
I suspect that judged against other washers in this class, it probably deserves five stars, but since I havent tried any others, I cant really judge.
PWD RESPONDS: The equation is pretty simple- the farther the water has to be pushed, the less power it will have when it comes out the end. With a telescoping pole you are also pushing against gravity.
Perhaps a better solution would be using a long-range nozzle, like the Briggs & Stratton 2nd Story Long-Range Soap and Rinse Nozzle Kit (model 6177) that will snap into the quick connect on the end of your spray wand.
The MTM Hydro Long Range Foamer (model 14.0263) will also do the trick, especially if you want to use a chemical you don't want to run through your pump.
You can enter the part number in our Search Box, or find them under Soap Nozzles in our Attachments section.

I started out with the twostory side of the house that picks up all kinds of dirt and stains. For sure the 24 telescopic lance is a lot of work, but it helped me do the job.
I like the Generac 6022 a lot. Since I was experimenting I shut the machine down and started it up several times. Unlike a lot of reviews that I read on similarly priced pressure washers this one starts up without a hitch.
I like the design of it and every component seems to be of good quality. It has a small foot print and when running it is not loud. I think that my lawnmower is louder. The number of nozzles are adequate.
Given what I have spent annually on powerwashing I will more than pay for this purchase in one year. I used the Simple Green for cleaning vinyl and that did the job as well. After cleaning the house I will powerwash a rather large concrete pool deck.
The Generac 6022 was rated as Good in the Good/Better/Best recommendations by Pressure Washers Direct.com. Based on my limited experience with the Generac I can only conclude that Good is more than good enough.
Finally, I appreciate the level of communication that I have had with Pressure Washers Direct.com and I also like the library of videos. I watched all of them, ranging from maintenance of the powerwasher to various types of cleaning that can be done with a powerwasher.
All of this was a nice touch.

Glad to have something dependable.
So far so good. Bought this after going through several electrics that didnt last. Easy to assemble, easy to start, and user friendly design.
The only thing to remember is that it has muffler as opposed to the electric so keep your distance from siding or anything else the might melt.

Worked great, after I fixed it.
Well, my unit had a hiccup. I went through the manual and filled it up with oil and completed each step in order. Im not rich so this was an investment in a valued tool . I wanted to make sure that I treated it properly and followed all of the recommended steps. I filled up the gas tank. A couple minutes later it noticed it dripping gas. Upon further inspection I noticed that the fuel line, right by where it was clamped had a hole in it and was spilling fuel everywhere. Its day 1 and at this point Ive already taken everything out of my garage to pressure wash the floor and now I have a gas leaking washer. I wanted to wash my floor that day since i had time. Do I turn this in for warranty or do I just fix it myself? Of course I fix it myself, I dont want to wait, and I dont trust someone else to fix my brand new tool.
With fuel prices $3$4 per gallon Im not amused with losing a tank of fuel onto the ground, not good for my wallet and not good for the environment. I was also not amused with having to put all of my stuff back in my garage so that I can make a run to the store for a length of fuel line. So I carefully removed the necessary parts to get the fuel line off, and replaced it with a good piece of hose. I put everything back together and refilled the fuel tank. No leaks! Finally, after moving the contents of my garage twice and spending an hour on this washer setup I was ready to rock.
Following the starting instructions, I pulled the starter cord, and like a thing of beauty it fired up on the very first pull. A few seconds went by and I slowly shut the choke down and the motor roared to life.
Not knowing what kind of pressure I was dealing with I used the lowest pressure tip, the white one. It was very similar to the way a manual car wash feels. Very cool. I sprayed my garage floor out rather quickly. Just to get the feel of it. You can tell that the manual is not joking about the need for safety goggles, the force of the washer can cause debris to come flying back at your face. Goggles = good. I also tried to sweep the floor before washing it to remove most of the debris. Highly recommended. Also make sure you pull on the tip to make sure its locked into place, otherwise you will send it flying when you pull the trigger.
Then I installed the higher pressure green tip. This worked amazing on the garage floor. Even without any chemical injection it took of an additional layer of dirt. It left the oil stains behind, which I kind of expected. Im going to try and get some cleaner to work on the oil stains, but the nonoil stained parts of the floor looked great. I had to try the red tip the blaster tip. I thought I would try it on the oil stains just to see if it would work. Well, I dont recommend this. I could literally write my name in the concrete with the red tip. It was powerful enough to etch the smooth concrete finish in the garage. oops. live and learn.
Aside from the struggles getting it going, this unit seemed to perform very well. Im looking forward to using this on many more projects this year. From spaying the mower off, washing the cars, then to the deck, and my wood fence. Im trusting my research which lead me to this unit, mostly because of the quality name brand pump that I know is designed to last instead of a pump designed to just get through the warranty.
Another thing worth noting is that I was able to move this unit while it was running. I didnt tip it very far, just far enough for it to roll and it rolled just fine and didnt die. Others said they had issues when they tipped it. Perhaps if it was low on fuel this would be an issue because the fuel seems to be gravity feed.

2 for 2 with Generac
I shopped around after thinking for several years that I very seriously was wanting a power washer but I did not know what brand or the specifics I was needing.
After my neighbor reuested that i help retrieve his friends truck that was broken in the very, very muddy woods I hate mud with a passion with my modified 1966 Jeep cj5. After i got back home there was a mud perimeter circling my Jeep afetr parking on the driveway.
This is when I finally decided to seriously look for a pressure washer. We have a generac generator that is made as part of our motorhome and rumor has it that it is a good brand and I cannot state to the contrary.
I decided to purchase the model 6022 generac pressure washer. I received it yesterday and assembled it today. I have a very damaged lowwr back and neck but this was very easy to assemble and to use. I need it for stains on the driveway, washing my Jeep, truck, mototcycle, 4 wheel motorcycle and my wifes car. As well as to prepare to paint the external of our home.
I could not have asked for a better piece of equipment for the money and for the quality of work and engineering that took to build this piece of equipment. As long as the longivity holds up as well as the rest of the equipment I believe i will have this machine for many satisfied years to come.
Im thus far please 2 for 2 with generac equipment and will continue to purchase this brand name in the future.

Generac Does The Job!
My first pressure washer was an 1800 psi unit from one of the big box stores. It did an OK job, but only lasted 3 seasons of light use around the home. A neighbor & I decided to chip in for a better pressure washer.
The GENERAC 6022 had the features & price we were looking for. After a very informative phone consultation with a sales rep at Pressure Washers Direct, I placed the order for one. The unit arrived in about 3 days and was very easy to assemble.
Our first job was my neighbors white siding, which had green and black mildew stains. The GENERAC started right up on the very first pull and those stains were no match for it. Didnt even presoak with chemical cleaner.
Now on to the patio furniture. Another great result. This week its my turn to use the pressure washer. I plan to clean some of the built up dirt on our wood deck.
So far, we are both very impressed with the machines build quality and ease of use. The assortment of tips and an on board detergent tank are other good features.

I think its great.
I have been doing some shopping around for a while for a P W. I do a lot of research before I invest my hard earned money into a tool. I read all the reviews to see what folks are saying about certain products.
I received the Pressure Washer today, very easy to assemble. Three pulls started right up.
Did my drive way front of house including my porch. Started on the side of my house where the mold is growing. Only reason I stopped- need a 30 foot ladder.
It was very easy to start every time I had to shut it off, big complaint with Honda motors and their competitors, not this puppy. I had it on a slope never shut off, it is well worth the money thus far.
I can not wait til I get a ladder to finish the job.

Power washing a deck
I received my Generac a few days ago. After opening up the box, it took me no more than 5 minutes to assemble the pressure washer. This morning I proceeded to begin to power wash my 20 x 22 deck.
This deck has been neglected for the past 5 years and would be a true test for any pressure washer. Well, after 7 hours of continuous spraying, the Generac started up on the first pull and ran without any problems. The power of the water was exceptional. I was even able to bring back the natural color of the wood!
This is an exceptional piece of machinery. The hose connections are in a clear unobtrusive location, the wand is sturdy and comfortable to operate, and the wheels keep the unit stable while working. I am very impressed with the quality of craftsmanship that went into this machine.
I am so glad I went with Generac and I would highly recommend this product over any other residential unit available.

So far it has been great
So far it has been great.
Used it for 3 days without problems. Easy to assemble. Using green nozzle for decks. It doesn't like the high pressure nozzle for very long but that nozzle has limited use anyway.
Hopefully, it continues to be trouble free.

Needs to be level
So far its a great unit. Only issue is that it must be level at all times while running it or it will shut itself off. The Oil level sensor is very sensitive.
This will however, make it last by not allowing it to run with improper oiling of the crankshaft due to sitting on an uneven surface.
We are very happy with the unit and Generac in general.
Thank you for a fine product.

Works well
The washer seems to work well. I did find that a big box store has something similar; the model number was not the same but the machine was the same in different box.
PWD RESPONDS: Please check carefully when comparing units with different model numbers. The Big Box Stores will order specially made units to hit a specific price point, so the details can differ- hose length or size; pump manufacturer, number of spray tips, etc.

Mean washing machine
Purchased this pressure washer sometime ago and it has not failed me yet.
To start, the assembly was so easy right out of the box. Within a few minuets, I was washing the entrance way to the house. It handles very well when it come to getting around.
