Q: I looked at the spec sheet and the owner's manuals online but could not find the length of the 6024 hose. by Andy from Pennsylvania on April 23, 2013
Q: What are the dimensions of this product when assembled? I see the dimensions you provide is unassembled. I have space considerations. Thank you by Tony from Nevada on April 15, 2013
A: The assembled dimensions of this product are as follows:
-20 inches at the base of the machine from front to back -16 1/2 inches wide from wheel to wheel -42 inches tall from the ground up to the top of the handle by Bill, Product Expert
Q: what is the fuel tank capacity on the Generac 6024? by Bian from New Jersey on March 13, 2013
A: The 3000psi Power Washer, model 6024, has a fuel capacity of 3.2 quarts (approximately 0.8 gallons). The fuel capacity listed is the total interior volume for the fuel tank. Air space is required to allow for expansion of the gasoline during warmer temperatures, so the actual amount of gasoline in the tank may not reach a full 3.2 quarts (0.8 gallons).
Q: I'm hoping that I can haul this in my pickup with canopy without having the lie it on its back or side. How tall is it to the top of the handle? The specs show 21" high which seems really low for what I'm seeing in the picture. by Ron from Washington on February 20, 2013
A: The spec dimensions are the shipping dimensions. The product itself stands 40 1/2 inches high. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Who makes the engine? by Mike on March 16, 2012
A: This model pressure washer uses a Generac branded engine. Generac makes their own engines for these pressure washer. The engine on this model is the same engine that is used on the Generac GP series generators that Generac offers. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: what is the warranty breakdown . how long of a warranty on the pump? by Nate on March 14, 2012
A: The Generac model 6024 comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. The entire machine is covered under the warranty period. The only thing that is not covered under the warranty is normal wear and tear items such as the wheels and detergent tanks. Also, the seals in the pump are not covered under the warranty. Seals in a pump are never covered under a warranty though, regardless of brand. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Will this unit (Generac 6024) be too powerful for washing a car? Will one of the rotating brushes cut down on the pressure?
I am planning on using unit to clean siding and patio and thought washing cars would be a bonus. by Scott from Maryland on September 27, 2011
A: For your applications, this is the perfect size pressure washer. This amount of psi is a little too much for washing a vehicle. However, if you use the white spray tip and make sure you stay at least 12 inches away from the vehicle's surface, you would be ok and not cause any damage to the surface. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: generac 6024;;does this unit have a brass body pump with stainless pistons?if so what mfg. tks. jim also; whats your thoughts on this unit versus the 6022 for around the house use.sideing decking etc. by James W Treadway from Pennsylvania on April 06, 2011
A: This pressure washer uses an AR axial cam pump. This pump has an aluminum body and brass heads with aluminum pistons. Normally only professional grade pressure washers have brass heads and body with stainless steel pistions. Brands like Kranzle, Dirtkiller, MiTm, and Cam Spray will have pump components like that.
For normal use around the house, this model 3024 would work great. I would suggest this model over 6022 just because of the variety of jobs that you can complete with the additional 300 psi. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Do you ship this item to Australia? If so, how much would shipping be? by Jacque on March 31, 2011
A: Unfortunately we do not ship products outside of the U.S. Sorry, I would be unable to quote you on shipping this product to Australia. by Bill, Product Expert

Bill's Recommendation
Given the oversized 212cc Generac brand engine and the durable AR brand axial cam pump, this model is great choice for any homeowner looking to purchase a very good quality pressure washer without putting a large hole in their wallet.
The frame on this unit, like all of the other Generac pressure washers, is a very well thought out design with the consumer in mind. It's balanced and easy to maneuver with 2 easily accessible detergent tanks at the bottom. This model has a vertical frame designed to reduce storage space, yet uses a horizontally shafted engine and pump for extra durability.
For the most part, this Generac model is problem free. It performs very well and provides a great amount of power. As long as you store this machine correctly and maintain it well, this pressure washer should last you for many years

Made In The Usa
I placed my order on a Saturday May 11 and received my Generac 6024 on Wednesday May 15 , since then I have used it twice.
The performance is great , the design is great, and not sure about the other brands but this one says Made in the USA. What more could you ask for?
Delivered to your door, no tax, no shipping charge, great value for a great investment. Need I say more?
Go for it! You won't be disappointed .

I Like This One Better
I really like my pressure washer. It is a great model for home use or anything else. It is a good brand and everything works great.
I have seen a lot of others, but I like this one better. The people I dealt with at the office were great. They were very nice and had knowledge of the pressure washer I bought. They were super nice.
If I needed any of their equipment I would buy from them. They did what they said they would do.

Works Great And Easy To Set Up
I've had the pressure washer for about two weeks and so far it has worked perfectly. The instructions on how to set it up were very clear and easy to follow. The engine started on the second pull and has run flawlessly.
I had a much more expensive pressure washer before this one that had 3200 psi and 4 GPM and I was worried that this one would not perform as well as my other one, but it works just as well as the other one and is much lighter to move around.
The engine, even though it has the Generac name on it, is very similar the Honda engine I had on my other washer and both of them are very reliable.
The only drawback to this pressure washer is it's vinyl hose, but so far so good, but I will probably have to replace it at some time.

The Right Tool
I decided to take the task of pressure washing the driveways, lanai and sidewalks on for the first time this Spring. I researched pressure washers and did due diligence and settled on the Generac 6024. I ordered from PWD and received the product as promised.
Set up was easy. I pulled the starter cord twice and knew I had made the right choice in purchasing this product. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a solid tool to do light to medium - heavy pressure washing jobs.
I am totally satisfied.

Troubleshooting Guide Saved The Day
My research said the 3100 was the way to go. I just need it for home use, meaning cleaning deck and concrete...typical stuff. It was very easy to assemble and started right up.
I had an issue with the pump I thought, but I read the troubleshooting guide and determined I needed to make sure the hose was unwound all the way. Worked great! Recommend!

Great Washer!
Ordered 3:00 pm on a Tuesday. Had it on my porch Friday by 2:00 pm. Ready to try on the weekend. Very simple assembly.
I did add quick connectors for all the hose connection. These are not included or necessary, but I wanted them. I used teflon tape when attaching them, and there were no leaks at the threaded connections or quick connections. Added oil and gas, and started on second pull. Ran very smoothly. Plenty of run time on a tank of gas.
Had plenty of power for cleaning 600 sq. ft. deck with a nice consistent spray pattern from the green tip. Cleaned much faster than a 2250 psi model I owned previously.
Got done so quickly I had plenty of time and energy left to do the garage floor with the 12" Briggs & Stratton Surface Cleaner. Happily amazed with the results. The hood kept the spray under control, not letting the walls get wet and cleaned very evenly and quickly. I did use the black tip to just rinse the loosened dirt away without splattering walls.
I worked well with the 6024 spray wand. Was a comfortable length to use without feeling a need for any type of extension (I am just under 6' tall). The surface cleaner just kind of 'floats'. You are basically just controlling the direction it moves. Little effort really.
Was kind of on-the-fence about purchasing a new washer, but am very pleased and glad I did. I think I could have done no better at selecting a washer than the model 6024, 3100 psi Generac. Seems to be a great value for the amount of machine you get.
The surface cleaner seemed a bit pricey for the simple gizmo it seems to be, but with the easy of use, control of the spray, and SPEED, I must say that I have no regrets there either. It your time is worth anything to you, then it is a must. I also can't think of a better solution for cleaning a garage floor with little effort while not soaking the walls.

Solid Investment
I've used the heck out of it since I've owned it- well constructed. Starts on first or second pull every time. Excellent pressure. More than enough to strip old paint and clean concrete.
Hose is OK despite reviews- just don't get lazy and let it kink, like any other hose.

Exceeded My Expectations
I needed a power washer, so I hopped online to research. The information I found was good and the research was efficient.
The Generac brand name kept coming out on top for my needs. Somehow I wound up on this website, the price was $xxx.xx, so I called my local Lowe's store and ask if they carry this brand and model, they did, same price. I ordered from this website, did not pay a dime more than the asking price, no tax, no shipping, ordered on Friday, received on Monday.
I assembled the few items that had to be put together and used it that day for about two hours. Fantastic purchasing experience. Exceeds expectations.

Powerful Washer
I used this power washed on the concrete surrounding my pool. The concrete was very dirty and didn't look good at all.
I used the middle aperture and it worked very well. I did have to get fairly close to the concrete (a few inches) and was afraid it would hurt it, but it just got rid of the dirt and the concrete looks like new.
I then sealed the concrete and hope I don't have to do it again for a while.

Not Good So Far!
Researched gas pressure washers. Decided to go with Generac. Had a hard time finding a distributor around my area, but when searching came across Power Washer Direct website. Ordered power washer and received it via FedEx. Opened box, and removed directions, and took them in and read them that evening.
The following day after work I removed the washer and handle from the box and assembled it. I filled the washer with fresh gas, and filled oil to proper level. I flushed out the faucet on the house and then attached the hose and flushed it for 5 minutes to make sure there were no particulates in it from winter. I attached the high pressure hose to the washer and handle, and then attached the water supply from the house. I turned on the water and made sure if flowed through the unit before starting it. I then turned on the fuel supply, turned the switch to on, and throttle to fast. Closed the choke and started the unit.
I had inserted the 30 degree nozzle and when I depressed the handle it began to spray with quite a bit of pressure. I washed a small section of the siding under the patio roof for about 5 minutes and then shut the unit off. When shutting it off I noticed the pump was very hot, and that concerned me. The following day I called Pressure Washers Direct and asked the "expert" if the pump should get that hot and was told it is cooled by the water flowing through it, and it shouldn't be hot, but not to worry about it. The next day when I arrived home I was going to see if perhaps I mistakenly felt the heat of the engine and thought it was the pump, but when I went to start the unit it would instantly shut off and then I couldn't even pull the rope to start it again.
I called Pressure Washers Direct and waited to talk to an "expert" and when he came on the line and I told him my problem, I was told that he didn't know anything about pressure washers and he would connect me with someone who did. I got Bill's voice mail box, and left my name and the model and make of the washer and the problem I was having. Didn't get a call back. Called Generac, and they told me I will have to take it to a certified repair center and get if fixed. Two of the three names they gave me don't even work on pressure washers and the other can't even look at it for two weeks, much less repair it.
I scheduled my vacation with plans of painting my house in two weeks and doing the prep work in the two weeks prior, including pressure washing the siding. So it now looks like I will have to rent a pressure washer after paying for a new one that doesn't work. I truly regret buying the washer online and had I bought another brand locally I would have at least been able to return it and more than likely been given another in its place. I'm stuck with a non-working Generac pressure washer, but I have cancelled my purchase of a Generac whole home generator and decided to go with another manufacturer.
PWD RESPONDS: We apologize for the inconvenience! Bill and our buyer will be working directly with you and Generac to get your situation resolved as quickly as possible.

Good Product-poor Service By Manufacturer
I purchased a pressure washer due to it's high recommendation. The supplier shipped the unit quickly and it worked as advertised. However, the bottom plastic support was cracked.
I notified Generic directly three weeks ago. I am still waiting for a replacement part plus they said I'll have to wait another ten days for the part to ship. I spoke to a customer service rep after waiting eight minutes on the phone. She was rude and acted like I interrupted her lunch hour. I then sent an email requesting a call from upper management. I received an email back that I would hear from someone at Generac within 48 hours. It's now three days and I'm still waiting.
Good product but horrible customer service by Generac.

Very Satisfying
Very satisfying purchase/experience. The washer arrived ahead of schedule, and box and contents were in great shape.
Assembly was easy, and after reading instructions twice, the washer started right up and performed as advertised.
I recommend both the Generac washer and Pressure Washers Direct. Their follow-thru has also been comforting should I need customer service. Doubt that I will.

Nice Machine So Far
My machine arrived intact with all the correct parts. Short and easy assembly.
I've only had a chance to use it once due to our very cold and wintry spring. I washed two cars (no soap), and the garage apron, and did a little vinyl siding.
It's imperative to release the pressure by squeezing the handle trigger each time you pull the recoil rope. I just braced my leg against the machine and held the trigger down while pulling the rope. That worked great.
As with any new engine, it takes a bit of experimentation with the throttle and choke to find out what combination your engine likes to start up. I also learned to throttle down to idle and then release the pressure before turning off the ignition switch.
This is my first gas pressure washer, so I took everything slow, and tried to learn some lessons. The machine has very good pressure, and with the included nozzles will be a very useful tool. Nice machine so far.

It's Fine Now
The Simpson hose female quick connect fitting would not accept the male fitting of the adapter I bought at the same time. It took a while to figure out what was causing the problem as nothing was visually obvious, but it turned out to be the female receptor that came with the hose. A couple of wrenches, a trip to the hardware store, $10 for a new fitting, some teflon tape, and the hose finally became usable.
Kind of frustrating as I was eager to use my whole new set-up and wasn't expecting trouble from what otherwise seems to be a
good product.
Anyway...all is OK now. I have run out of things to pressure wash...for now! I marked it at only 3 stars because of lack of quality control (Simpson or whoever produces that part), but it is now actually functioning as a 5-star product.
I did not bother contacting Pressure Washers Direct over this as I decided to fix it myself rather than return it. But, since they asked for a review....
PWD RESPONDS: Federal Law prohibits shipping an engine that has been gassed up since it's a fire/explosion hazard. We would have suggested that you give the folks at Simpson a call at (847) 348-1508 to replace the faulty connector under warranty.

This is my 2nd pressure washer. My last one was a Costco 2400 psi Karcher. It lasted quite a while before the pump went south. I decided to go for more pressure this time and chose this model based on reviews and price.
This unit is better in almost every way. The motor is quieter and more powerful. The spray wand is better quality. The hose is about the same poor quality vinyl job that comes with most consumer units. I'd like to get a longer one.. Like most guys :-).
The shipping was mostly good except FedEx required signature even though the shipper didn't.
Nits: The wheels are chintzy, almost like those crappy hard plastic wheels that come on kettle grills. They wobble like mad when the unit is on and I suspect the detergent bottles will get holes worn in them from the cheap axle vibrating against them.
Advisory: Be careful of your oil level. The unit ships with residual oil from testing I assume. It also doesn't seem to hold anywhere near 20 ozs per spec. Unlike many motors of this type, the oil level is not good to go when it is at the edge of the fill hole. Make d*** sure the level is about an inch down the neck of the fill hole. The cheap plastic dip stick attached to the oil plug is not a good design for a reliable oil level check.
Long story short I ran mine with too much oil and ended up with an oil gusher when the unit shut itself down after running for two hours. I opened the oil fill plug and most of the oil exited the motor.. Holy c*** that is a surprise and a learning experience.
All in all this is a powerful machine that I think will last a long time. Just know your oil level and use a good synthetic like Amsoil.
PWD RESPONDS: Please follow the Owner's Manual recommendation on break-in oil. Many small engine brands do not recommend synthetic oil until after the engine has been broken in.

Excellent Unit
I'm glad I purchased the higher PSI unit for a little more money.
I know some others had mentioned the small hose diameter causing some kinking problems. My work around for this during set up is to attach the hose at the base of the unit loosely, then grab the other end of the hose while stretching it out. The hose will pivot in your hand and at the base of the unit. This will get all the loops out so you don't pull a kink in the line during spraying.
Attach the gun and tighten up both connections and you are good to go.
It's a great unit. I would like to see Generac reconfigure the hose bracket so the wrapped hose does not fall off when you lean the unit back to pull it around. I will modify that a bit when I have time.

The pressure washer works great when it runs. The engine dies constantly; it always restarts runs for a few minutes and then dies. This makes no sense- the tank is full, the fuel is on. It needs to be choked to restart.
It has plenty of pressure when running.

Awesome Power And Quiet To Boot!
I replaced an old Karcher 2400 with this unit. I've only just done a test area with it so far- what a difference 600 PSI makes at the hose tip. One of the biggest factors for me is how quiet the motor is compared to my old one. You could probably get away with no ear protection using this unit.
It took a little longer to ship than I'd expected but that was mostly due to FedEx not delivering to my house with nobody home, even though no signature was required. They can use their own discretion as to whether they will leave it.
The unit is packed really nicely and includes 20 oz of SAE 30 oil in a bottle. This tripped me up a bit because there was residual oil in the unit from the factory, so it didn't take the full bottle even though the spec is for 20 oz. I just tipped it on its side a bit to dump off a little oil for the right level.
The handle and hose are definitely higher quality than my old unit; and did I mention this baby is quiet???!!! All in in a very well built piece of equipment MADE in THE USA baby!
PWD RESPONDS: We want to make sure we don't misrepresent this unit- it is assembled in the USA; but with globally sourced components. In order to be legally certified as Made In The USA at least 85% of the components must be made in America.

I do a lot of maintenance on heavy equipment for a major plumbing company here in the Dallas area. I have used the pressure twice for a total of about 9 hrs. The first job was about 3 hours non-stop; the other times were quick washes of about 45 minutes each.
So far I am very pleased with smoothness of operation from start up to shut down. I have been in the automotive business for well over 40 years and have used many power washers in my past. For the quality, power, and ease of operation you can't beat the price.
I would highly recommend this product.

Very Nice!
I read every review on this site, Amazon, etc. about power washers of this size and went with this one ( a month long reading/reviewing process as I have heard so many horror stories).
What is funny is that I expected the unit to be outstanding but with a terrible hose (most come with a kinking 1/4 plastic hose that just sucks). In the end, that is exactly what I got.
This is more than powerful for standard residential use and is surprisingly very quiet - I am quite happy with that aspect. I have friends who own washers in the 2500 psi range and wish they had gone to the 3000 psi- I wasn't going to make that mistake.
In the end I ordered a replacement hose of a better quality (with shipping it was like $30 or so) and I am totally happy with the product. I highly recommend it.

Great Unit From A Great Company!
I ordered my 6402 on Tuesday afternoon and it arrived on Thursday (???) (Chicago to Charleston by truck in two days). Awesome!
Unpacking and assembly was quick. Reviewed the manual and got familiar with it, as it was late and cold outside.
Came home early on Friday and got started. Did my front porch, a few small bits on the front of the house, and my entire 3-car driveway, on one tank of gas. About 3 hours continuous operation (with a couple breaks). Driveway looks brand new! Unit performs very well.
Notes:
-No fuel starvation issue noted, so Generac must have fixed the previous issue associated with the gas cap. Good job to them.
-The unit vibrates a small amount while running, and the front feet leave a black mark over time where it sits. When you're finished in one area, move the unit 3-4 feet and spray off the black marks. They come right off. Easy day.
-I found that depressing the wand trigger while pull-starting (wand stowed in it's holder) assisted the unit in starting right up.
-PWD did a great job. You can see how long it took to get my PW. Very happy. Also, I ordered an upgraded hose with QDs. They wanted to make sure the fittings and hose would work with my PW, and there was some question on this. They went and did the research, and called me back an hour later with confirmation (prior to taking my money). Getting it right the first time is obviously very important to them too. This was much appreciated!
I did a lot of research prior to purchasing, and I'm very happy with this company and this pressure washer. Will highly recommend them and this pressure washer in the future.

I purchased this pressure washer as a Christmas present for my husband. He was a little hesitant at first with ME choosing a power tool for him. However, once he used it he was literally like a kid on Christmas day.
He tried each sprayer attachment and decided what he would use each one for. Needless to say that he is totally happy. It has lots of power and several sprayer tips. He was also pleased with how easy it was to maneuver.

A Really Good Value For Money
I have been looking for a power washer for some time and found this model at Pressure Washers Direct. It has turned out to be a perfect match.
The pressure washer was exactly what I was looking for - it meets my requirements perfectly, it was easy to assemble taking about 30 minutes from opening the box to starting the engine.
Power Washers Direct was the perfect complement. The web site is easy to navigate, the products are easy to buy, and the products show up promptly as promised.

After A Rough Start - Very Good
After much searching and study, I settled on the Generac 6024 as a "best value" pressure washer candidate. I personally believe 3000 psi is a minimum for standard household use.
Unfortunately, it took me awhile to find that out since it arrived damaged in the box during shipment. Basically the handle was broken in half - not terribly surprising since the box arrived on my doorstep upside down and was flimsy as all hell. Now I wouldn't ship an 80 lb item in such a weak cardboard container, but that's the way it came.
Thankfully, things went better from there. I spoke to Bill with PWD and he said he would immediately ship me out a new handle, no questions asked. He showed a genuine concern that things needed to be made right and didn't slough me off to my local Generac dealer in town looking for satisfaction. I really appreciated that.
I got a new handle about 4-5 days later and was in business. It only took 15 minutes to put together and after three initial pulls, the unit started up like a champ. Works great, doesn't rattle, or lose nozzles out of the carrier like other reviewers have mentioned. It's real solid and not nearly as noisy as I suspected it might be (I had an electric Karcher before - never again).
It does drink gas fairly fast due to the tiny gas tank, but I personally like that. That way I can run the unit dry much more easily when it comes time to put the unit up for a few months at a time.
Great product !! Hard to beat for the money. Why spend money at a big box store when PWD will ship free to your door, & tax free too !!
PWD RESPONDS: We're working with the folks at Generac to improve the packing of this product- thank you for your patience!

Pressure washer works good so far, only used it for approximately 8 hrs.
I tossed hose that came with the unit and bought 100 ft of 3/8 high performance hose; and needed a couple of fittings to do so.

Happy
Am very happy with this pressure washer. It does a much better job than my previous 2,000 PSI electric model.
I especially like the step in front to use when starting the engine. The only improvement I would make is to use a quick release hose connection.

Great Value For The Dollar!
When it comes to spending more than a couple hundred bucks on anything, I become a value investigator. I needed a pressure washer for myself and the extended family, so after quite a bit of research, I settled on the Generac 6024.
What a great little giant of a pressure washer this thing is! I think it stands toe-to-toe with machines costing several hundreds of dollars more. We have really put it through its paces at three different family properties, and I couldn't ask for better performance.
If a high quality, personal duty pressure washer is what you need, you can't beat this jewel! It's light weight, easy handling, and will hang in there with you all day long till the job is done.
I HIGHLY recommend it.

Plenty Of Power
The pressure washer works great- it starts easy and has plenty of power. The sprayer hose is a problem, it kinks easily & slows you down.
If you are cleaning a flat surface like a sidewalk try a surface cleaner; it's worth every penny. I cleaned a black sidewalk over a 100 ft. in length in about 45 minutes and it looks like new.
I have done a lot of comparing of different brands, and for the money it is a great machine.

Much Faster Than Using A Turbo Nozzle Or Tip
I have a lot of concrete, and I live where mildew develops fast. This thing was cheap and works great for my needs (3-4 times a year).
Out of the box I had one issue, but it was a quick fix. There was a casting flake of metal behind one tip so the unit wouldn't spin. I removed the nozzle with a 7/16" open end wrench (it's in very tight), and blew the flake out- all was well.
With my Generac 6024 sometimes it doesn't want to spin fast right away. The solution is to stop, release the trigger and retry. Water pressure is not the greatest at my house though so that may be the issue.
Either way, I've had total time savings and it's almost magical to use. You avoid all the side spray mess using any kind of nozzle.
My neighbor rents a big one every few months and came by to watch, he will probably buy this instead as it was less than the cost of one rental. Maybe he has to do two passes for one in the old unit, but we both sort of like to pressure wash.

Great Product And Experience
After reading different reviews on the Generac 6024 pressure washer, I decided to buy it.
Pressure Washers Direct was great. The washer arrived within two days, no issues.
As for the product itself- Wow. I never worked with a gas pressure washer before, they've always been electric. What a difference.
This pressure washer was easy to set up, and the power is amazing. It has cut my time to clean by 2/3 while doing a much better job.

Great Pressure Washer- You Won't Be Sorry!
I researched for weeks before I purchased the Generac. After reading all the positive reviews on it and the negative ones on other brands I decided to purchase the #6024.
It worked great stripping the paint off a house trim we just repainted, and cleaned the siding with ease. It maneuvers easily and stores conveniently in the garage. In the spring I will use it on pressure washing engines and parts.

Be Careful
I've had 2 pump replacements in about 15 hours of use. I'm worried about how much repairs will cost after the warranty expires.
By the way, check out the warranty- it's 1 year for everything, 2 years on parts only, on everything but the motor!
PWD RESPONDS: Please make sure you are using the pressure washer properly. The water rushing through the pump is what keeps it cool. If you frequently leave the unit running without using the water, the pump will wear out prematurely.
If you leave the unit running without using the water for too long, the thermal relief valve will dump water through the pump to protect it, but it's not good for the pump.

Generac 6024 To The Rescue!
This Generac 6024 Power Washer (3000 psi) which I have now used for about 10 hours is very much better than I expected (after 5-6 years of frustration using a slight cheaper and greatly inferior store-bought 2500 psi unit).
Delivery from Pressure Washers Direct was quicker than promised, unpacking and assembly was easy. It helps immensely to read all of the User Manual first! It wasn't positively clear, however, whether I needed to hook up the siphoning tube for the chemical tanks if I wasn't planning to use any chemicals (it's not necessary).
The quality of the high-pressure hose was much better than I had hoped as well as the pump and pump fittings, along with the spray gun and lance.
The engine is outstanding for its large capacity fuel tank and for the controls which included fuel shut-off, ignition switch, manual choke and throttle. Starting is so easy, in part thanks to the excellent foot pad and well-shaped starter handle- of course it's important to squeeze the spray gun trigger and have water streaming freely though the pump, spray gun and lance, while starting.
At full power or at idle, the Generac engine runs much quieter than the Honda engine did on my old unit.
I'm so very glad that I chose the most powerful Generac residential power washer. I now believe that 3000 PSI (with a 2.7 GPM pump) is well worth the extra expense, especially when trying to clean equipment with stubborn caked-on mud, grass, etc., and for getting stuff such as green mold and leaf stains off limestone steps.
The biggest surprise was using the yellow "stripping" nozzle to remove old paint and stains from decking made of pressure treated lumber. My old unit just cut ruinously into the soft woodgrain of the planks, whereas the more powerful Generac just peeled the paint, mold, and stains off the planks without destroying them.
A welcome discovery: using the same yellow "stripper" nozzle at 3000 psi, my new Generac can clear wet (or dry) leaves and pine needles off my yard like no blower I've ever seen or used (and it doesn't harm the grass)!
One last mention: we've had a Generac 9 KW automatic emergency power generator (running on propane fuel) for five years- it has consistently worked like a charm, and clearly influenced our decision to purchase the Generac 6024 power washer.

This washer was very easy to assemble and started on the second pull. It's very powerful!
Watch out if you are cleaning bugs off the bumper of your car/truck, the green 25° nozzle will peel the paint/coating off the bumper.
This is a great pressure washer based on my using it two or three times.

New Adaptor
I bought a Generac pressure washer. It worked well for a bout 15 minutes and then the pressure hose blew off from the pump.
The hose fitting is an aluminum die cast part which is very soft, and the cast-on threads are nearly nonexistent. I asked Generac to send me a new adapter and so far it has not happened- so I am waiting without a useable $400 investment.
PWD RESPONDS: We checked with the folks at Generac, they say the part shipped to you on 10/16. If you haven't received it yet, please give them a call at (888) 436-3722 x5381.

Works Perfectly
What can I say? Unit is easy to put together out of the box! I have had this unit for several months now, I do not believe in leaving feed back till you have used the item for a while.
This unit has worked perfectly, it's easy to start, and always starts on first pull. Even after running out of gas, by the second pull it's running.
The spray tips are easy to change and the 2 soap containers are great if you're doing a big wash job; I use 1 for soap and 1 for wax. It works much better than the soap/wax mix- no spots that way.
I had a unit costing twice as much before and this unit blows it out the door in ease of transport and starting. The large gas tank is great for long power washing jobs.
The only word of advice is to watch that the hose does not flip on top of exhaust- LOL- it does melt into a very cold wet shower to hit the kill switch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems to work great. It does a terrific job and is quieter than some I've heard.
Quick delivery and well packed. Easy to assemble and fairly easy to figure out. A little hard to start.
Putting the oil in it was a little awkward - the paper 'funnel' included was not helpful.

Very Nice Unit
The Generac 6024 is a very good unit for the homeowner. It has plenty of power for most of the tasks that you would want to clean around the house.
I have a tri-level home and this unit has plenty of power for the rinse but needs a extension unit to apply the cleaner at the top of the overhangs. A few things I would like to see different is one, the hose is very stiff and gets tangled easy. It would be nice if it was a good rubber instead of plastic.
Also the soap containers are convenient in that they are at the bottom of the unit and you have 2 of them, but you cant take them off the unit which is a pain. I have been siphoning the soap or cleaner right from a jug.
This unit has been starting great, First pull and it is running. I like the upright stance of the unit as it tales up less space in the garage compared to others.
I had a few questions about this unit before purchasing and PWD was very prompt with answering.

Nice Washer
This is a nice washer. I used to have an electric Karcher that I found to be an under-powered, unreliable machine.

Overall Satifying Experience
I purchased based upon Pressure Washers Direct recommendation and individual research. Received Generac 6024 in one day. Ordered on Wednesday, arrived on Thursday! Assembly was easy- I'm not crazy about plastic fasteners but I seated them using a rubber hammer because a few were not pushed in all the way on the handle assembly.
I followed the pre-start up instructions to a T. It started on the first pull and ran smoothly for the 30 minutes the job took me took me complete.
I had read about gas cap issues but have not had any symptoms like that during the four times I have operated the machine.
The plastic hose is wrapped tight out of the box and does, as plastic will, have a memory and is therefore prone to kink during the first several uses. I suggest you wrap/store the hose as loosely on the holder as you can without it dragging. This loose wrap just about eliminates the tendency to kink when you are using it.
The unit is lightweight and easy to maneuvers and stores easily due to it design and small footprint.

Excellent Machine
It arrived as promised and I was able to track the delivery on line. Once I opened the box and the minimal amount of assembly, basically just installing the handle, took only about 20 minutes. The engine cranked on the first pull and within 45 minutes I was washing my deck.
This deck hadn't been cleaned since it was built 8 years ago and really needed it. I removed 8 years worth of dirt and crud on the 300 sq. ft. deck down to almost new looking wood in less than one hour. This used only about 1/4 tank of gas which is a fantastic feature that I absolutely love. I had a Craftsman washer that I used to wash part of my house and it ran out of gas every 30 minutes- I finally gave up on that one.
I haven't used them yet but I like the double tanks for washing fluid. This is my first Generac product and I am 100% satisfied.
I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I'm actually looking forward to my next product. This is my first time ordering from Pressure Washers Direct and I'm completely satisfied with them also.
Bottom line, excellent machine and dealer.

Impressive Performance
I purchased this to replace an aging 2400 PSI Craftsman/Honda pressure washer. It arrived exactly when it was supposed to & the FedEx guy helped me put it right where I needed it. At 83 pounds shipping weight, it was definitely a two man lift getting it off the truck.
I was able to slice down the sides of the box and wheel the main part right out onto the driveway. It was well packed with little chance for damage. Assembly was a snap and very intuitive. The unit is more narrow than most pressure washers I have examined at local retailers, and is about 6" slimmer than my old unit. The 8" wheels make it easier to move up steps, but I miss the balloon tires that made it easier to move across a gravel drive.
As others have mentioned, the location and angle of the oil fill port can make filling somewhat inconvenient, but with the right funnel, it was really a non-issue.
The gas tank is a large metal affair with the filler centered on the tank. It is very similar to some of the commercial power equipment Ive used/rented in the past.
Once the engine was filled with the appropriate fluids, the controls gas, choke, throttle, stop switch were set to the appropriate positions, hose connections made and the water turned on, it started on the third pull of the rope.
The nozzles can be a little difficult to seat correctly in the wand, but all did seat and worked as they should. I did have to clear a burr from the green 25° nozzle that prevented the pattern from dispersing correctly. The spray wand is a handy length. The trigger is easy to hold for extended lengths and does not have that annoying safety button that needs to be pressed prior to squeezing the trigger.
The extra oomph this pressure washer provides made clearing the garage roof 13.5 square feet of moss and debris almost twice as fast over the old one. I have between 5 & 6 hours run time on this washer already.
Others have commented about the pressure hose splitting/cracking, I do not have that problem.
I did not have the opportunity to use the dispensing system. The covers on the tanks in the picture are covers. To use the tanks, the cover is replaced by one with a hole through which the pickup tube is fed.
Pros:
Solidly built, easy to reach connections, quiet operation, long operation from a tank of gas and easy to restart when hot.
Cons:
Dispenser feed cover can easily be lost.

Easy Start/nice Features/all Needed Nozzle Sizes
As most others have done I researched different makes and models in the 3000 psi range from 2.6 to 3.0 gpm since my old BE unit went away.
I decided on the Generac 6024 and so far I have no faults with the pressure washer. The one fault it had that I knew about in advance was the high pressure vinyl hose, so I bought two 30 ft. lengths of R1 braided 5/16" high pressure hose with 3/8" ends along with several sets of 3/8" Quick Connect fittings along with a M22 X 3/8" female fitting before I received the pressure washer.
Which, by the way, was delivered very fast by freight. I went through that vinyl hose bit with kinking years ago with a Karcher electric pressure washer. I just do not understand Generac's thinking when they sell a 3000 psi X 2.7 gpm pressure washer and expect people to be happy with with a 1/4 vinyl hose with no quick connects.
I would have given this pressure washer a five star rating except that it ships with that vinyl hose. The pressure washer arrived in great shape and all parts were included. So far I like the Generac 6024 pressure washer for what I have used it for. The balance of the unit when moving to a different location is pretty good.
I have no complaints with the operation of the pressure washer so far.

Researched multiple pressure washers including Karcher, Troy, Rigid, Powerboss, etc...chose Generac based upon quality and price. When ordering I requested fragile stickers placed on the box to limit damage to the pressure washer. Received box in perfect condition but after opening, the handle assembly and power washer handle were both broken, both are plastic.
Called pressure washers direct and they had the pieces too me in a matter of 10 days. Unfortunately, the handle bar assembly that was delivered did not include the metal bars. I assumed they thought I can simply change out the metal bars for the one that was delivered but the metal bars were connected to the plastic handle assembly with plastic rivets that are not meant to be removed. Needed to drill out plastic rivets, go to Lowes to find replacement pieces and fixed the problem.
After this the machine was a breeze to put together just a few easy steps, oil and gassed it up and started on the first pull. Washed my vinyl siding and deck. Also used the Briggs and Stratton second story long range soap and rinse nozzle. Great product for the price.
Overall, the Generac 6024 is an excellent product. Plastic pieces decrease the quality of the product but may need to be to meet the price point of $399. Recommend changing some plastic to sheet metal to improve quality. I would of given it a 5 but based upon the problems with delivery I gave it a 4. I know others that may not of been so handy would of given it a 1.

Best Machine For The Money
Exceeded my expectations. Arrived as promised, easy to set up, and started on first pull and hasn't been a problem since with over 15 hours use. I purchased a turbo nozzle separately, which is a must to speed up the jobs on deck and concrete. This is a great machine. If I had to find something wrong, it would be with the hose. It does not wrap easily around the hook, but is 30' long so who cares.

Great Product
I was in the market for a pressure washer, and after doing lots and lots of research, I decided to get the Generac. This was by far the best decision I made. The unit shipped extremely fast and arrived in perfect condition.
It took 10 minutes to put together. I added the oil that came with the unit and then added the gas. It literally took 2 pulls and it started right up. I used it with the briggs and stratton sweeper. I absolutely love this pressure washer, it was the best investment.

Decent Washer, Cheap Hose
You may as well plan on buying a good braided hose at the big box store. The hose that comes with the unit is pretty cheap, kinks easily which leads to a burst hose. Mine burst as I was thinking "I may as well plan on buying a new hose, because this one is not going to survive this kinking."

Search Was Worth It
I spent alot of time researching alternatives and occasionally consulting with the gurus at Pressure Washers Direct. I allowed myself to be educated and guided in terms of the specs I needed.
When I settled in, I landed on the Generac 6024. I read reviews about it on several websites and, amazingly, it had a perfect 5-star AVERAGE rating everywhere. Because of their investment in me, I came back to Pressure Washers Direct and made my purchase there.
Ownership has been fabulous. Very simple, almost no, assembly eg. snap on handle and add oil, which was provided!. The engine started on the first pull and the 5 spray heads work great for their intended purpose.
I really couldn't be happier. A few neighbors saw me setting it up and said I could have borrowed theirs. No thank you! I'm glad I own my own Generac 6024.

Word To The Wise
My Thanks to Pressure Washers Direct For Having the Best Deal Online.
the Unit Arrived While I Was Away and Could Not Follow the Delivery Instructions, My Wife Signed For It and Noted That the Box Was Slighty Open or the Packing Tape Has Loosen.
All the Items Were in the Box, Signs of a Rugged Delivery Was Evident.
Putting the Unit Together Is a Breeze. Easy For Anybody. the Unit Started, Bled the Hose and Away I Went On a Short Test Drive About a Ten Foot Section of Mossy Cement. Using the Stripper Tip, It Made This An Easy Task and Great Results.
I Had to Stop Because the Pressure Hose Burst, Hold Tight, This Was Not a Defect But a Snafu. Hose Made Contact With the Hot Exhaust Manifold.....Drat!. I Called the Manufacturer and They Sent Me a Replacement Hose. This Took a Week.
Once I Got the New Hose I Went to Town Around the House, Stripping and Cleaning All the Concret and Foundation Grime. Excellent Results!
Word to the Wise, Unravel the Pressure Hose All the Way Before You Go to Town On That Grime.
My Pros and Cons.
Pros-Ths Machine Has Good Power, Easy to Move Around, Different Tip Selection For Variest Tasks.
Cons-Sucks Fuel Like a Hemi V8, the Pressure Hose Storage Is Its Weakest Attribute and the Hose Kinks Up Very Easily.
Bottom Line, Good Bang For the Buck. Go Ahead Buy One. I Recommend It.

Generac 6024 3000psi Power Washer
Purchased The Generac 6024 3000PSI Power Washer on 6152012. Have used it to clean my side drive, sidewalk and porch. It did a very good job with plain water no detergent. I used the yellow/15 degree nozzle.
Have used it about 8 hours so far and the engine starts on the 1st or 2nd pull and runs great.
I have read where people complained about hard starting, but you must release the pressure at the spray gun handle or you will have a hard time starting it. It is very important to read the manual as it answers a lot of questions.
The washer is made very good and you can feel it is sturdy. I will next try it to clean my siding and am sure it will do a great job.
I had a few questions about the washer and the people at Pressure Washers Direct were very helpfull and friendly to deal with.
I ordered the washer on 6/13/2012 and it came via UPS on 6152012,. The box was in good condition, except the spray gun handle had a crack in it. I called Generac and there were no hassles about them sending me out a new spray gun. They were also very pleasent to deal with.
I am very happy with this purchase and would not hesitate to purchase another product made by Generac, maybe a Generac Generator.
PS I looked at many brands of Power Washers and by far this one was the best made.

Works Great
Setup was a breeze. Hoses attached easily with no leaking. Starts on first pull but you have to be quick to adjust the choke or it'll stall.
They must have fixed the fuel cap issue mentioned by another reviewer because I have not had this problem. Ive got about 10 hours of pressure washing a large stamped concrete pool area and plastic chairs, all of which came out clean.
Ive got no complaints and would recommend this washer for all around home use.
Shout out to Pressure Washers Direct who once again delivered quickly and at a great price.

Great Machine
i checked other brands and this model is well built. i used it to clean my driveway.
i first thought you had to use chemicals then pressure clean. Wrong i tried with chemicals and saw no difference, i used the pressure of the water to blast dirt and mold off with easy so i am saving money now just using water pressure.
now my wife has me pressure washing everything i expect to be done by winter.
All i can say it is working out great for me and they shipped it fast
well happy washing

The Worst Thingtool I Have Ever Purchased
I researched and researched pressure washers for over a month. I decided that I wanted something with at least 3000 PSI, and preferably something with at least 2.7 GPM. Generac continued to receive the highest reviews. These reviews must have been paid for by the company themselves. They must have planted these people to review these products.
The product looks very nice, but that is where it stops. I have had to return two of them, both of which never started, never turned over, and never even gave a glimmer of hope of turning on. I put in fresh gas less than 20 minutes old from the gas station, new oil, and then followed the steps..over and over and over and over and...you got it....over again. I would then leave it alone for a few hours and try again.
Each machine was given two days to get it to start working. Then I thought, what the heck, lets give it one more go, so I got a third. This one, after one day of trying and trying, it finally turned on...WHAT A RELIEF! Or was it? Got it going and let it run for about 30 minutes while just shooting the hose at my driveway. Just in time too, I needed to clean my parents place for my younger brothers graduation party. Guess what? You know it, I took it to my parents place the very next day and NOTHING. Pull and pull and pull and pull. And no start.
I am done with this brand. I will NEVER buy anything again with the name Generac again. How embarrassing it is to go to another person's home and have a piece of junk never start on you. I am going to go buy a Honda motor. DO NOT BUY....BEWARE! Unless you are buying your mortal enemy one of these...which I still wouldn't do. Torture is illegal and immoral.
PWD RESPONDS: We understand your frustration, but we sell hundreds of these units each year, and their failure rate is regularly less than the industry standard. They have a generous 2 year Factory Warranty through Generac, so any of your units could have been repaired locally.
You could also call the folks at Generac Tech Support, toll free, at (888) 436-3722 x5381 to see if some troubleshooting would help get you going; there are also troubleshooting suggestions in your Owner's Manual.

Great So Far
I ordered this on Wed and recieved it Fri. afternoon. Minimal assembly time. I have about an 1.5 hours on it washing the mower and the car with it and am very impressed so far.
It has the pressure and volume that I was looking for and is pretty quite. So far no trouble with the gas cap so I hope they either fixed it or I got lucky.
Overall 100% satisfied with the pressure washer and Pressure Washers Direct.com

Gas Leak And ????
I received the washer and did the prep work. Started it up and gas was running down the tank. There was a hole in the gas line, I fixed it temporarily. I ordered a new hose and will repair it myself, rather than toting it 20 miles and leaving it for ????.
I called Generac and asked if they pre-tested these things and answer was yes, but they had no control after that. Guess they add oil, gas, crank it and then empty oil & gas?
I fixed that and the starting is a joke. Even when warm I have to choke it fiddle with the throttle, etc. At my age I only have a few pulls left in me.
When idling at slow speed under a minute or so the pump makes a strange noise and the whole machine jumps 6 inches off the ground like its having a fit of some sort. I did get to wash a car with it but scared to put it to any lengthy use like my vinyl fence where I have to run it for hours.
Enough bitching, as I feel I got screwed once again. It does look kind of pretty sitting there in the garage beside my Kobota tractor; it's the same color. Is this worth $400?
Just plain disappointed. . . I'm going on vacation for a few months, maybe the rest will do it good.
PWD RESPONDS: This unit has a 2 year Factory Warranty from the folks at Generac; it might be worth the drive to have their Authorized repair guys set the unit up properly for you.

Good Power, Small Footprint, Detergent System Lacking.
This power washer has good pressure, and I like that it comes with 5 nozzles. I also like that it has a small footprint.
The lance is heavy duty and seems durable. The engine starts easy and runs good, but you do have to pull the trigger on the lance before each pull of the cord. A pressure bypass valve during starting would be nice.
I am disappointed that the detergent bottles do not have a line connecting them to the pump. Instead, it comes with a loose piece of clear vinyl tubing that you attach to the pump and put the other end in the filler neck of the bottle. I was expecting a permanent connection with a valve. Pretty hoky for a $400 machine.

Waste
The Pressure washer is great Generac 6024
This nozzle was a waste on 3000 PSI washer and I dont beleave it will be any better with more pressure. When using it, feels like the pressure drops and cleaning is nonexistent.
PWD RESPONDS: The chart we include on the Nozzle pages says a 3000psi machine with a 2.7gpm pump should use a nozzle with an orifice between 3.0 and 3.5. The 3.25 nozzle you ordered should be right in the zone.
Would you please give the folks at AR a call, toll free, at 866-235-5112? They will walk you through some simple troubleshooting steps to make sure the nozzle is functioning correctly, or be able to send you a replacement if needed.

Strong, Powerful But......
I love it but you have to use it without the gas cap on. My machine stalled often when I first used it. On line I read that some machines of this model had an issue with the gas cap not ventilating enough. I removed the gas cap and it ran nonstop for hours.
Too bad that such a good machine has such a minor problem to make it frustrating if you don't figure it out. They should send tested gas caps to all owners that are having this problem. What a great public relations win that would be.
PWD RESPONDS: A quick call to the folks at Generac, toll free, at (888) 436-3722 x5381 should get a new gas cap on it's way to you, since your unit is still under warranty.
Please have the serial of your unit handy when you call Generac; they will need it to process your request.

Generac 6024
This is one good looking unit and runs very well after I received back from needing work immediately and this was brand new... Power washer would only run for a few minutes then die... Wait 5 mins before able to restart it then it would run for a few then die again...
I sent it to a local Generac guy that fixes this stuff and after his findings,
and a month with no washer, I received it back working like it should.. Now runs very well... What did he find you ask?
1: New Fuel Cap Not venting properly causing the fuel to reduce and eventually stop going to the carb.
2: New Pull Cord Frayed prematurely Big Time after only a few pulls
3: Adjusted Exhaust Valve from .012 to .006 I understand the numbers but have no clue what it does..
4: New Valve Cover Gasket
Thank God, Generac stood behind their product, after all I had it only 2 weeks... Cost me nothing as it should have... And thanks to Dave at Powertown for his professionalism in this matter...

Nice
Nice pressure washer. It is a little hard to start at times. The starter rope is too short as I reach the end of travel when I try to start it.
Once it is running, it performs flawlessly. It is well engineered with convienient controls.
Machine was shipped direct from factory and arrived very quickly. Requires minimal assembly and comes with 20oz of oil all you need to add is gasoline.
Performed well I used it to remove dirt from wood siding on my house. Only minor criticism is attaching the nozzle tips be sure to insert the tip into the quick connector on the nozzle and then push the quick connector up to seat the tip. The quick connector pushes hard so don't stop if it seems like it wont move up it will. The directions provided neglect to tell you to push the quick connector up.
Very pleased and would recommend this machine for any consumer sized project requiring pressure washing the machine is very easy to operate, the engine starts usually on first or second pull, and the frame is easy to move from spot to spot.

Generac was very easy to deal with and I would recommend it.

Great Machine When It Runs
Hose: Very good. States Made In USA on it. Easy to install/uninstall.
Water connection: Right out in the open at the rear of the unit. Very good design.
Engine: Runs very good when it actually runs.
Fuel Cap: Flawed design. Very poor. Causes a vacuum to form in the fuel tank, killing the engine. I took it apart and drilled a hole in the mushroom shaped steel plate inside the cap. The original holes are on the flat part at the top and cause a vacuum to form against the outer shell of the fuel cap. The holes need to be on the beveled edge. Before the modification I pulled the fuel line off the carb. Fuel would not flow out of the line with the cap on. After shutting the unit off the cap would whistle for quite a while as air would slowly fill the tank due to the vacuum.
Wand: Very good. Easy quick disconnect spray nozzles. Feels stout. No issues.
Wheels: A good diameter. The unit roles easy.
Performance: Very good aside from the engine dying due to the fuel cap. I stripped my deck and the before after pics are incredible. It has plenty of power/volume. I have about 25 hours on the machine at this point.
Pump: Stays cool to the touch while running. The manual states it has stainless steel pistons in it which is contrary to what the expert on this website says.
What else: Well, the only plastic parts are the handle at the top, the foot at the bottom, the soap tanks, and the air filter cover. The handle broke in shipping. The air filter cover melted due to the muffler deflector falling off the screw clamp was not tightened during manufacturing. The oil is very difficult to drain because it just spills onto the soap tanks when you remove the plugs. There was an incredible amount of metal in the oil at the 5 hour oil change, but it was clean on the second oil change.....fairly typical. The upright design is very good and takes a minimal footprint to store the unit.
As for the handle being broken: I called PWD and spoke to Chris the day I got the unit. He stated he would email me right away when he spoke with Generac about getting a new handle. After that the air filter cover melted. About 10 days after speaking with Chris I still had not heard back from PWD so I called again and spoke with Jim. He noted that Chris had put a note in the account about the broken handle. He sent Chris an email telling him to follow up with me. It has been another 2 weeks and still no word from PWD. I am pretty sure I will not do business with them again. I highly doubt they will make good on this purchase. I would buy this unit again.....elsewhere. Come on PWD.....send me my parts. It has been over a month. Do your job. I noticed you did not wait until the unit shipped to charge my credit card so you have had my $430 longer than I have had the machine.
PWD RESPONDS: For fastest service, it's best to follow the instructions in the Owner's Manual for Factory Warranty Service and contact Generac directly at (888) 436-3722 x5381, since we don't handle parts or repair.
Our system only authorizes the amount on your credit card, and collects it when your order ships. When you use a debit card your bank collects the whole amount, and releases it when we collect from them.

Well Set Up For The Buck
Had looked at several pressure washers and this seemed to be the best set up.
The general quality of the unit seems to be good. The high pressure hose is little on the cheesy side but does the job.
The location of the connections for the high pressure hose and low pressure water intake are in a difficult spot to connect; easily solved with a quick connect coupling for low pressure side.
Over all having looked a several units this seems to be the best built so far.

Good Pressure Washer
Was looking to upgrade from my 1800psi unit with BS engine. Looking for a 3000 psi unit that was the best bang for the buck. I decided to purchase this one after reading many reviews on John Deer, Troybuilt and others on this site.
Setup simple, only a couple minutes to review the manual and install the oil. The unit started on the second pull. I was surprised how quiet and smooth it runs. I like the look and design of the unit also.
Nice sturdy construction, good hard rubber tires not plastic. Has manual choke and rpm control with fuel shutoff a plus in my opinion.
As with most units I've read about, the pressure line is a hard plastic twister. I figure on replacing it later with upgraded line for about 50 bucks. Also will add quick disconnects on the engine to pressure to wand connection.
It does start after you shut it off- I've read a lot of reviews that claim pressure washers are hard to restart. Not so here. It does have a quality fuel screeen/filter under the gas cap that should protect the system very well.
After a days run have no complaints. I may get another one for our summer house.

Wobbly Wheels
I melted the the plastic housing next to the muffler after about the first 20 minutes of use. The problem stems from the placement of the muffler right next to the housing. The heat exhaust is dispersed via a diverter off of the muffler, but the diverter is connected with a worm gear-like clamp should have been welded and the meltdown occurred when the clamp fell off; how or why I'm not sure, but it was probably just too loose.
At any rate this is bound to happen at any time on all of these units since this type of clamp is simply not going to hold over time. Similar to the other review, I find the wheels are all wobbly. Also, changing nozzles requires a He-man like effort to pull the quick connect into place.
The engine did start and run very well and pressure was excellent, but I'd question the long term durability.
I could change out the housing easy enough if Generac would just send the part, but they've demanded I go to a service center which will be a 3 hour round trip. AAARRRRRGGHHH!!!
PWD RESPONDS: We apologize for the inconvenience, but the terms of the warranty require an Authorized facility check to make sure the problem is due to a defect in materials or workmanship.

Seems To Run Good
I think for the money the unit could of been built a little better. The wheels are really cheap,as is the hose.I guess it does a pretty good job on the cleaning and it also seems to run good. I think at $300.00 it would have been a good deal...
PWD RESPONDS: The most expensive part of a pressure washer is the engine; the second most expensive part is the pump, and then there's the 2 year warranty.
Using a lightweight hose & wheels allows more of the cost to be put where it counts, while still keeping the price low.
If you have any problems with the unit, you can contact Generac Tech Support (toll free) at (888) 436-3722. ext. 5381.
