Q: Who makes the engine? by Mike on March 16, 2012
A: This model pressure washer uses a Generac branded engine. Generac makes their own engines for these pressure washer. The engine on this model is the same engine that is used on the Generac GP series generators that Generac offers. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: what is the warranty breakdown . how long of a warranty on the pump? by Nate on March 14, 2012
A: The Generac model 6024 comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. The entire machine is covered under the warranty period. The only thing that is not covered under the warranty is normal wear and tear items such as the wheels and detergent tanks. Also, the seals in the pump are not covered under the warranty. Seals in a pump are never covered under a warranty though, regardless of brand. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Will this unit (Generac 6024) be too powerful for washing a car? Will one of the rotating brushes cut down on the pressure?
I am planning on using unit to clean siding and patio and thought washing cars would be a bonus. by Scott from Maryland on September 27, 2011
A: For your applications, this is the perfect size pressure washer. This amount of psi is a little too much for washing a vehicle. However, if you use the white spray tip and make sure you stay at least 12 inches away from the vehicle's surface, you would be ok and not cause any damage to the surface. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: generac 6024;;does this unit have a brass body pump with stainless pistons?if so what mfg. tks. jim also; whats your thoughts on this unit versus the 6022 for around the house use.sideing decking etc. by James W Treadway from Pennsylvania on April 06, 2011
A: This pressure washer uses an AR axial cam pump. This pump has an aluminum body and brass heads with aluminum pistons. Normally only professional grade pressure washers have brass heads and body with stainless steel pistions. Brands like Kranzle, Dirtkiller, MiTm, and Cam Spray will have pump components like that.
For normal use around the house, this model 3024 would work great. I would suggest this model over 6022 just because of the variety of jobs that you can complete with the additional 300 psi. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Do you ship this item to Australia? If so, how much would shipping be? by Jacque on March 31, 2011
A: Unfortunately we do not ship products outside of the U.S. Sorry, I would be unable to quote you on shipping this product to Australia. by Bill, Product Expert

Bill's Recommendation
Generac is known for quality power equipment, and this unit is no exception.
The engine is a robust 212cc, and it has a sturdy axial cam pump.
We like the completely redesigned cart, too.
It's balanced and easy to maneuver, with 2 easily accessed detergent tanks at the bottom. The unique wand holster is in the middle of the frame, where it won't get knocked off in the garage.
This unit would be ideal for large projects around the house or farm, without putting a large hole in your wallet.

Waste
The Pressure washer is great Generac 6024
This nozzle was a waste on 3000 PSI washer and I dont beleave it will be any better with more pressure. When using it, feels like the pressure drops and cleaning is nonexistent.
PWD RESPONDS: The chart we include on the Nozzle pages says a 3000psi machine with a 2.7gpm pump should use a nozzle with an orifice between 3.0 and 3.5. The 3.25 nozzle you ordered should be right in the zone.
Would you please give the folks at AR a call, toll free, at 866-235-5112? They will walk you through some simple troubleshooting steps to make sure the nozzle is functioning correctly, or be able to send you a replacement if needed.

Strong, Powerful But......
I love it but you have to use it without the gas cap on. My machine stalled often when I first used it. On line I read that some machines of this model had an issue with the gas cap not ventilating enough. I removed the gas cap and it ran nonstop for hours.
Too bad that such a good machine has such a minor problem to make it frustrating if you don't figure it out. They should send tested gas caps to all owners that are having this problem. What a great public relations win that would be.
PWD RESPONDS: A quick call to the folks at Generac, toll free, at (888) 436-3722 x5381 should get a new gas cap on it's way to you, since your unit is still under warranty.
Please have the serial of your unit handy when you call Generac; they will need it to process your request.

Generac 6024
This is one good looking unit and runs very well after I received back from needing work immediately and this was brand new... Power washer would only run for a few minutes then die... Wait 5 mins before able to restart it then it would run for a few then die again...
I sent it to a local Generac guy that fixes this stuff and after his findings,
and a month with no washer, I received it back working like it should.. Now runs very well... What did he find you ask?
1: New Fuel Cap Not venting properly causing the fuel to reduce and eventually stop going to the carb.
2: New Pull Cord Frayed prematurely Big Time after only a few pulls
3: Adjusted Exhaust Valve from .012 to .006 I understand the numbers but have no clue what it does..
4: New Valve Cover Gasket
Thank God, Generac stood behind their product, after all I had it only 2 weeks... Cost me nothing as it should have... And thanks to Dave at Powertown for his professionalism in this matter...

Nice
Nice pressure washer. It is a little hard to start at times. The starter rope is too short as I reach the end of travel when I try to start it.
Once it is running, it performs flawlessly. It is well engineered with convienient controls.
Machine was shipped direct from factory and arrived very quickly. Requires minimal assembly and comes with 20oz of oil all you need to add is gasoline.
Performed well I used it to remove dirt from wood siding on my house. Only minor criticism is attaching the nozzle tips be sure to insert the tip into the quick connector on the nozzle and then push the quick connector up to seat the tip. The quick connector pushes hard so don't stop if it seems like it wont move up it will. The directions provided neglect to tell you to push the quick connector up.
Very pleased and would recommend this machine for any consumer sized project requiring pressure washing the machine is very easy to operate, the engine starts usually on first or second pull, and the frame is easy to move from spot to spot.

Have used it and it's much better then the rest I have used in the past.
Also had a problem, called Generac. They told me where to take it and to call them back if I had a problem with the service center.
Generac was very easy to deal with and I would recommend it.

Well set up for the buck
Had looked at several pressure washers and this seemed to be the best set up.
The general quality of the unit seems to be good. The high pressure hose is little on the cheesy side but does the job.
The location of the connections for the high pressure hose and low pressure water intake are in a difficult spot to connect; easily solved with a quick connect coupling for low pressure side.
Over all having looked a several units this seems to be the best built so far.

Good Pressure Washer
Was looking to upgrade from my 1800psi unit with BS engine. Looking for a 3000 psi unit that was the best bang for the buck. I decided to purchase this one after reading many reviews on John Deer, Troybuilt and others on this site.
Setup simple, only a couple minutes to review the manual and install the oil. The unit started on the second pull. I was surprised how quiet and smooth it runs. I like the look and design of the unit also.
Nice sturdy construction, good hard rubber tires not plastic. Has manual choke and rpm control with fuel shutoff a plus in my opinion.
As with most units I've read about, the pressure line is a hard plastic twister. I figure on replacing it later with upgraded line for about 50 bucks. Also will add quick disconnects on the engine to pressure to wand connection.
It does start after you shut it off- I've read a lot of reviews that claim pressure washers are hard to restart. Not so here. It does have a quality fuel screeen/filter under the gas cap that should protect the system very well.
After a days run have no complaints. I may get another one for our summer house.

Seems to run good
I think for the money the unit could of been built a little better. The wheels are really cheap,as is the hose.I guess it does a pretty good job on the cleaning and it also seems to run good. I think at $300.00 it would have been a good deal...
PWD RESPONDS: The most expensive part of a pressure washer is the engine; the second most expensive part is the pump, and then there's the 2 year warranty.
Using a lightweight hose & wheels allows more of the cost to be put where it counts, while still keeping the price low.
