Q: how do you control the psi presure? by Mike from Massachusetts on August 14, 2011
A: This machine does not have the adjustable pressure regulator on it. The only way to adjust the pressure is by changing out the spray tips. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Bill,
I currently own this model, and I need a replacement trigger and wand. Do you have a suggestion as to which triggers will fit the Karcher Model G2400HH? Thank you! by Sarah M. from Alabama on March 29, 2011
A: Yes, we would definitely carry a replcement trigger gun and wand for that model pressure washer. You can purchase trigger gun model 6055 and spray wand model AL248-C. That set up would cost you $50.00 plus shipping.
You could also purchase a spray kit model 41.0293 that also comes with a hose and spray tips. This kit costs $79.99 plus shipping. by Bill, Product Expert

Made Me A Believer Once I Used It....
Fast Shipping and Great Tech Support as always! Mated to a 2400 Karcher PW, it does a nice job cleaning concrete, you may have to make a 2nd pass, depending on how stubborn the build up is.
Well constructed, it is plastic but seems durable. Someone posted that they broke off a jet due to uneven surface, I can see how this could occur as the two spinning jets are relatively low to the surface. You just need to be cautious.
For the money, you can beat it. Nice addition to keeping up the home.

K 2400hh Pump Is Crap
I bought a Karcher 2400 Gas thinking this is going to be great, it has one of the best engines on the market to power the pump, a Honda, so how could I go wrong? But after a couple of years of minimal use, it would not power up to operating PSI unless I removed the tip from my wand and released the pressure in the line first. Then I could reinsert my tip of choice and pull the trigger, and this is how I had to use the power washer.
Then finally one day it started blowing water out a valve on the top of the pump housing, and I would have to say that now it is junk, because you cant just replace a single part, like a 50 cent o-ring, you have to buy a KIT, a KIT with parts you don't need and it costs you $84.00. What a poor way to service your product line, sell malfunctioning pumps and then rape the customer when he comes back for replacement parts. Don't buy Karcher products.
PWD RESPONDS: Using a pump saver product (any brand) will keep the o-rings lubricated & help prevent dry rot or freeze damage. The 2400HH was discontinued in 2005; so a rebuild 8 years later is not unreasonable.

No Pressure
This unit has had problems with pressuring up since I bought it. For a while it would work if I pull started the unit while I had the pressure nozzle in the on position. Now it does not work at all.
I just noticed that other owners are having the same problem so I dont feel like I am unique but this does not help the situation. Since it is now out of warranty I will need to replace with another unit.
PWD RESPONDS: This model is at least 7 years old, and was made with an axial pump. Axial pumps eventually wear out and lose pressure. Unlike triplex plunger pumps, they can't be rebuilt.
The good news is there is a bolt-on replacement pump (8.920-004.0) available that should put new life into your pressure washer.

New Cat Pump (sent To Customer Service)
Got the pump to replace a crappy Karcher pump on my pressure washer. The pump is very nice and works well.
The issues I had are the pump arrived without manufacturers packaging. No instructions, no service information, unwrapped and leaking oil. Additionally it was missing a plug on the back end of the inlet and I had to buy an adapter to hookup the hose. Not sure if this is standard issue for Cat pumps or if I got a recycled one. Only time will tell. Now I just need to dig up the servicing info and find some extra oil.
PWD RESPONDS: We don't sell "recycled" pumps. The pumps are tested before shipment, then drained; so some residual oil may leak into packing materials.
The assumption by the manufacturer is that the pump is being replaced by a professional, so they don't produce a step by step installation guide. We put a link to the installation drawing and the spec sheet on our web page (under the Specs tab, on the right hand side). This information is also available on CAT's web site- www.catpumps.com.
Bare pumps are always shipped without oil. Water pump oil is a 30 weight, non-detergent oil that is easily available at automotive or Big Box stores.

Used it once, worked fine. 2nd time it wouldn't power up: repairs, $160.
Next season the o-rings cracked, and it wouldn't power up. It was repaired and winterized. I used today for half a hour, changed tips, and it won't power up. Total aggravation!!!
PWD RESPONDS: Karcher's warranty covers the cost of repairs due to defect in materials & workmanship; they don't cover wear & tear or misuse.
A pump saver product will keep the o-rings from cracking, removed hard water deposits, & act as anti-freeze over the winter.

Will Not Pressure Up (sent To Customer Service)
The Karcher 2400 PSI Pressure Washer starts easily.
The first year I had it it worked fine, however after that it has essentially been a very large paperweight that I have had to move around. My big issue is that the unit would not pressure up.
The engine is great but the pump can not be cost effectively repaired. At this point it is cheaper to just buy another washer than to try to fix this one.
PWD RESPONDS: Even if the warranty has expired on this older model, parts are still available. It may be more cost effective to replace the pump than to pay for the mechanic's time to repair it.

Karcher 2400
Good power washer for about 1 year and stoped building up pressure. Serviced and rebuilt with same problems. Called Karcher and they said they have had numerous complaints with same problems. The honda engine is one of the best engines i have used, excellent power and reliability. Karcher has the worst customer support and said they could not help since out of warranty. i would not recomend this powerwasher and DONT BUY A RECONDITIONED ONE!!!! NOTHING BUT A NIGHTMARE!!! Think about it why was it reconditioned in the first place? Obviously now you all know.
The Karcher 2400 PSI Pressure Washer starts up very easily. Strong efficient engine.
After a year, unit will not pressure up. Karcher replaced it. 6 months later, unit would not pressure up again. Replaced the wand, and all heads. Worked for another 4 months. It will not pressure up again.
What a headache... This unit requires a lot of maintanace.
PWD RESPONSE -- We've sold thousands of this unit. In fact, it's one of our best selling pressure washers. This is a unique incedent. We'll keep monitoring this model.
I have had my Karcher 2400 for a couple of years, and when it runs, it runs great.
However, I have had multiple problems with maintaining the pressure. After the second use, I had to have the wand replaced (it simply broke in half) which was not under warranty.
I also had to have the unit fixed, so it would pressure up. Currently it is broken again, and will not pressure up.
Probably would not buy anther one. This machine is not used hard. In fact, I would estimate that I have used it a total of 10 times or less.
This Unit Has Worked Perfectly For Me For Over Five Years Now. I Love It. There Is Only One Problem and That Is a Major One. the Unloader Valve Is Sticking. Thats the Valve That Lets the Water Out of the Pump. Several Authorized Service Techs Have Told Me the Insides of the Pumps Are Made of Metal and Will Start the Rusting Process After Its First Use. Only Pumps With Ceramic Parts Will Not Rust Inside, and These Units Are Really Expensive. They All Told Me I Was Very, Very Lucky to Get 5 Years Use Out of My Karcher 2400. the Repairs to the Pump Are Not Cost Effective.
The overall best selling pressure washer in 2006 was ... drum roll, please ... Karcher's G2400HH. This marks the fourth consecutive year Karcher's 2400 PSI pressure washer topped the charts.
The Karcher 2400 PSI pressure washer is perfect for light-duty and heavy-duty residential use. Its 5-horsepower Honda engine has plenty of power to tackle the toughest household chores. Plus, it comes with a DirtBlaster® rotating nozzle, which significantly speeds up cleaning time.
Don’t expect this model to repeat as a best seller in 2007. Karcher is replacing the model with a newer version. The specifications remain about the same, but it doesn’t include the extra accessories such as a turbo nozzle or longer high pressure hose.
PressureWashersDirect.com currently has less than 100 pieces of this best seller in-stock. Once they’re gone; they’re gone forever.

Having used 3000+ psi power washers commercially for years, I'm pretty impressed with this unit. Does the job very well, easy to use, relatively quiet. Only problem, but of course, is the unwieldy hose, common though. Don't forget to fill crankcase with oil upon arrival - dip stick could have a better color background in order to see the actual oil level. Instruction book could emphasize the need, when having the machine running (idling) while you're applying soap or whatever, to periodically relieve pump pressure by shooting water through the gun every couple minutes of idling time. Pumps tend to last longer when you do. Overall, a more than adequate washer for a home owner as a reasonable price.

The pressure washer arrived intact and ready to assemble. The rack that holds the pressure hose will only go on one side of the cart; opposite of the discharge side. The unit is compact, easy to manuver around. There is plenty of pressure for around the house or even light industrial work. I got the 25' hose; it's too short. It's also a little cheesy. The muffler is also on the same side as the pressure hose, and if it gets close to the exhaust (not touching), it will melt the casing. It would be great if the muffler was on the bottom. I will get lots of good service from this one.
Hey very fast delivery ordered on Monday got it on Friday Morning. didnt think it could get here that fast and everything was in tip top condition, and it does everything they said it would and even more, tryed some simple green cleaner on Aluminum siding deluted down and it looks like new, Also it is real quiet. thank you Ray
First the Good News. The Karcher 2400 is an excellent pressure washer and a great value. It's been our best-selling pressure washer for three straight years.
Now the Bad News. Karcher is discontinuing the model and replacing it with a new 2500 PSI version. Yes, the new model is more powerful, but it doesn't come with all of the extra accessories, including a turbo nozzle, longer hose and five-connect tips.
Time is Running Short. Pressure Washers Direct currently has less than 50 units of the best-selling model in-stock and ready-to-ship. Once they're gone, they're gone.
If you really want this model, order soon. Otherwise, you won't be able to get one!

Being EXTREMELY critical and frustrated with typical companies and customer service, I was amazed at the helpfulness, knowledge, politeness and accommodations of Pressure Washers Direct.
The unit came quicker than anticipated and I was ready to get started. There was a minor set back in that the handle slot was slightly bent. It wasn't serious, but frustrating as it was a new unit. Donna in customer service was on the same page as me, neither wanted to ship the unit back, but there still was the issue of the minor damage. Donna offered a credit for my trouble and I straightened out the problem on my end.
Once I used the washer, I couldn't have been happier. It started easily and had better than reported pressure. It was going above the abilities by stripping both the paint and stucco off of my house.
So far so good on everything about the unit except the hose which kinked on several occasions. Beyond that, this is a recommended purchase. Since I've only used the unit once so far, I'm giving it 4 stars until I have further use.

Received Machine in 5 days. Works like a charm. Well made machine. Starts easy (1 pull). Only had 1 little problem, the oil bottle was leaking when I got it, so the box and unit was a little oily. Did my whole driveway yesterday. Now it looks like it did 20 years ago (like New).
Talk about fast service - I ordered on Monday night and had it sitting at my house on Wednesday. I used it the following weekend and was very pleased with the product. Very high quality and well made unit - highly recommend.
ordered monday got package tuesday from ga to fl where i live. tried it out tonight wednesday works so much better than my old $89 electric.A 3 hour job turned into 50 minutes. You will just love the dirt blaster nozzle and the reach of the 50 foot hose.
Only one big complaint no effect on the cleaning but may say something about the quality control of Karcher. the left tire rubs metal sound as you move the machine how could they have not noticed that at the factory I guess they just did not care. That is why I gave it a 4 not a 5.
