| Not Happy About Waiting |
| By mike arnold (Rockledge, FL) |
I purchased my power washer on 26 Feb 09 and it was delivered on 2 March 09- excellent shipping.
After assembly I used the unit for approximately 30-45 min, at which time the water pressure started to sputter. I turned the washer off and proceeded to check the oil. It was at this time I observed a pool of oil leaking from the bottom of the unit. All connections were made properly and the water pressure was strong.
I called Pressure Washers Direct that same day. They gave me the locations of the service facilities in my area and emailed a copy of my invoice to me right away.
The unit is now in the Karcher Authorized Service facility, but I don't know how long I will have to wait for the repair.
When you get one of the reconditioned pressure washers be sure to check it out ASAP as the 30 day warranty begins the day it is delivered.
PWD RESPONDS: Customers can also print a copy of their invoice at any time by clicking on "Log In" at the top of our web site and following the prompts. To locate the Service Center in your area just click on the "Customer Service" button at the bottom of the web site. |

| How to Remove Mildew from Your Siding |
| By Kevin F (Kyle, TX) |
My house is largely constructed with a Hardy Plank exterior. The paint on the north side of the house was quite visible with mildew, and the neighborhood association sent me a letter about either repainting or cleaning the siding.
I had to do this a few years back and found the job quite a bit of work. I purchased a product by Zinsser named JoMax. The instructions on JoMax say to mix with Bleach and water.
I had to use a vehicle brush and a ladder and do a lot of climbing and overhead work with the brush....but the JoMaxBleach works extremely well. The paint looks like new.
So....I decided this time around I might find a detergent that would work through a sprayer, buy the detergent, buy the sprayer, and make life easier.
Well, the Simple Green didn't work worth a $h#%. I followed the instructions to the tee. I reapplied because I found it difficult to believe it would not work. It didn't phase the mildew! So, I bought the JoMax and Bleach.
I also bought a 16' extension pole and and a vehicle wash head. It was a lot of work, but I was able to stay on the ground for most much of the work. I just mixed in a 5 gallon bucket and then applied by dunking the brush into the solution and slopping it onto the siding.
The new pressure washer made rinsing so much better. I have low water pressure at home, and the reach is poor with a garden hose.
So the verdict?
I wish someone would make a product that goes through the pressure washer that would kill and remove mildew without voiding the pump warranty. I read about bleach being harmful to the pump in my new pressure washer and so could not apply the JoMax solution in this manner.
Oh...and how does my house look? Like it was just painted! :)
PWD COMMENT: Thanks for the feedback. Yes, you shouldn't put bleach through a pressure washer. It will eat way the seals. You can, however, use the Campbell Hausfeld High-Pressure Soap Lance to spray the bleach. The detergent is stored in a bottle attached to the lance. You can actually spray the bleach under high pressure to reach second stories. A very nice product. |

| How to Find an Affordable Pressure Washer |
| By Jon Hoch, Founder (Bolingbrook, IL) |
Pressure washers are quickly becoming one of the most popular tools in the neighborhood.
So is it time to finally get your own?
You can afford to stop borrowing your neighbor's power washer if you follow these tips:
1. Comparative Shop
Many Americans miss the mark when it comes to comparative shopping.
The biggest savings comes from comparing brands - not stores. In some cases, it's not worth your time and gas money, driving across town to save a few bucks.
Pressure Washers Direct carries the leading pressure washer brands. You can compare several pressure washers side-by-side to determine the best product for the price.
For example, this Briggs & Stratton pressure washer is nearly identical to than several other brands, but it costs significantly less.
2. Consider Reconditioned Models
Homeowners can save an additional money by purchasing reconditioned instead of new pressure washers.
Reconditioned pressure washers are returned to the manufacturer by one of their retailers for a number of reasons. Most are returned with no apparent defect and little sign of use. Many, in fact, have never been used. Others show some minor use or wear.
The manufacturer tests and, when needed, services these products, guaranteeing they meet 100% of new product performance specifications. Many manufacturers even offer a 90 day warranty on reconditioned machines.
3. Buy Online
Internet retailers offer three important cost-advantages.
First, Pressure Washers Direct.com ships orders directly from the factory to the customer's door. By eliminating the need for warehouses and stores, they can pass considerable factory-direct savings onto the customer.
Secondly, you can save up to 7.5% (depending on your state) by simply not paying state sales tax. For example, Illinois residents would save an extra $33.75 in tax on a $500 pressure washer.
Finally, many web sites are now offering free shipping on all pressure washer orders. This is a great option for larger pressure washers that are too big to fit in your car.
Instead of lugging it home from the store, you can reinvest the time and energy into more important things… like finally returning your neighbor's pressure washer. |

| Reconditioned Karcher 2600 PSI Pressure Washer w/ Honda Engine Review |
| By P. Rogers |
Just received my "reconditioned" Karcher 2600 PSI Pressure Washer w/Honda 5.5 engine. It was delivered with no problems in its original box.
Took 5 minutes to put together and started right in on the driveway, walkways, deck and then to the car, sidwalk and even the siding on the house.
This machine didn't show any signs of weakness. I was able to remove some paint stains on the driveway from when I painted the house over the Summer. Came right up with no problems at all.
I would recommend this unit to anyone who is in the market for something a little stonger, but affordable, than some of the others at this price.
The detergent tank is worth the extra $25 over the other Karcher with the "Best Seller" noted on it! |

| Reconditioned Karcher 2600 PSI Pressure Washer w/ Honda Engine Review |
| By Glenn Wyers |
This reconditioned unit arrived in new condition, original box and all. After some quick assembly I was ready to go!
Wow... Great Quality here! The Briggs and Stratton motor on my two year old Devilbliss vr2500 blew up (probably why they are using Honda's now) so I decided it was time for an upgrade.
The commercial grade sparyer on this is great. It's not a sloppy valve like my old one with a hard to pull trigger that blasted pressure immediately. Instead, this one is easy to pull, and slowly releases pressure.
The frame, pump and motor are also of a much better quality.
I like the larger pnuematic tires that make it easier and more stable to haul around the yard.
The folding handle is great! I was worried it would be cheap plastic elbows, but they are metal and is very sturdy.
The Honda motor is a lot quieter than the B&S, and started much easier as well. I especially like that Honda incorporates a fuel shut off so you can run the bowl dry when it's going to be out of service for a while.
The quick connect hose is great! What bonus. I disconnect my hose when not in use, and would always get wet with my old one because the rubber o-rings were showing wear. I look forward to a long time of use with this set up.
I never used the detergent siphon on my old one because it was too much of a hassle. Since this one also includes a built in detergent bowl, I'm definitely going to put it to use.
