Q: Is it important to have adjustable pressure on a power washer for home use? by Ray Lawing from Tennessee on May 23, 2011
A: This is not something important for a pressure washer. Even units with adjustable pressure, the manufacturers suggest using the nozzles to properly vary pressure. So if you are using your tips correctly, you really don't need adjustable pressure.
Q: I'm considering buying the Karcher Model HD-2.5/30-ch,I'm on a well,30-50psi,will this unit operate ok with that?It will be used only occationally to wash vehicles, atv's tractors, siding, brick ,walkway,is the 40 degree nozzle ok to use without damaging paint? by Frank DeLeo from New York on May 15, 2011
A: You should be fine with the well, but you should check your gpm by using a 5 gallon bucket and see how quickly the bucket would fill up in 1 minute. This would give you an idea of what kind of flow you have. If the flow is approaching boarder line of providing you with the correct amount of flow, also take a look at the length of hose you are running. Sometimes if you are running 100' of hose, this can become a problem as well. Overall though this unit should be great for you and give you a good result.
Are the engines same? I also noticed one is recommended the other is not but 5star? by Ufie from New York on May 14, 2011
A: These models are going to be close to the same, but just a different design. The specs will be almost identical, but the HD model is going to come from Karcher Commercial/Shark. The G3025 is going to come from Karcher Residential.
Q: I have a log home that is 3,600 plus a large car garage. Everything is 100% cypress but over the years there has been some mold build up and sun discoloration.
Before I re-stain the house it needs to be properly cleaned top to bottom. Years ago I did this and burned through my and a friends Craftsman before completing the job.
Between this primary use the pressure washer would only be used occasionally and lightly.
Can you recommend a pressure washer that can handle the task and the proper cleaning solutions to be used in pressure washing mold / mildew?
Thanks by Bob Whitwell from Texas on May 03, 2011
A: The unit you are inquiring about would work well. You could go up to a higher psi if you wanted. It would not be needed, but would allow you to get the job done quicker.
In terms of a detergent. A pressure washer safe Simple Green used for house and siding. This would have chemicals in the solution to help you eliminate the mold and mildew that has built up.
Q: Is this to much pressure to clean paint chipping on my garage doors? Will it clean pealing paint? Thank you. by Ernie Surber from Ohio on April 24, 2011
A: No, this is definitely not too much pressure for your project. This is actually a perfect size pressure washer for what you need to do. I would absolutely recommend purchasing nothing less than 2600 psi for this type of job. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: would you recommend the 3000psi over the 2600 psi.....both Honda? Much difference between the two?? $100 more for the more psi. by Gail from Oregon on April 24, 2011
A: A 3000 psi pressure washer can be used in many more applications than a 2600 psi machine could be. Especially if you are cleaning concrete, asphalt, or 2nd story siding is where the extra psi will be useful. You will definitely see a significant difference in performance between the 2 psi ratings. The additional cost for the increased psi rating is well worth it. However, it really depends on the types of projects you are doing. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: IS THE KARCHER MODEL# 2.640-852 50 FOOT REPLACEMENT/EXTENSION HOSE (3/8") COMPATIBLE WITH THE KARCHER MODEL HD 2.5/30-CH PRESSURE WASHER THAT I PURCHASED FROM YOU WHICH HAS A 1/4" HOSE by David Gresham from Maryland on April 23, 2011
A: Yes the Karcher 3/8" hose model 2.640-852 is definitely compatible with the Karcher HD 2.5/30-CH pressure washer. Due to the difference in diameter, you will lose 1 psi per foot of hose that you go with. In this case, you will lose 50 psi but it will not even be noticeable to you. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: spark plug gauge for Hnda pressure washer 6 horse power GC190 by Faith from Georgia on April 17, 2011
A: You would have to contact Honda tech support for that information. Honda can be contacted at 770-497-6400. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Whats the best preasure washer do you sell for 500.00 for light commercial use by Michael from Indiana on April 03, 2011
A: From what we offer, this Karcher model HD-2.5/30-CH that comes from Karcher's commercial division and is going to be your best option for $500.00 or less. However, this model is not designed for everyday commercial use. This unit has a very good quality Karcher pump installed on it along with a Honda GC engine, the combination of the 2 components makes for a great quality pressure washer.
Also, this model is our top selling gas pressure washer and has proven to be very reliable. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Do you ship this item to Australia? If so, how much would shipping be? by Jacque on March 31, 2011
A: Unfortunately we do not ship products outside of the U.S. Sorry, I would be unable to quote you on shipping this product to Australia. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Hi Bill.
Is there a knob to adjust the PSI or pressure on the Karcher 3000, or is it the different tips that do that?
Regards, Norm from Quebec, Canada by Norman Savard on March 29, 2011
A: This model does not have an adjustable pressure unloader valve installed on it. You would not be able to adjust the pressure at the pump on this machine. Yes the way to adjust the pressure on this machine would be by changing to a different tip. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Considering the Karcher HD-2.5/30-CH and looking at the turbo nozzle guide shows a size 3 orifice to be the best for this PSI/GPM combo. However all turbo nozzles with this size 3 are rated at PSI of 2300-2500 PSI. So what's my best bet for a compatible turbo nozzle with this washer? Thanks. by Stephen from Massachusetts on March 25, 2011
A: The 3.0 orifice size is the correct size turbo nozzle for this model. This machine is rated at 3000 psi with 2.5 gpm's. You also have to take the gpm rating into consideration when selecting a turbo nozzle or spray tip for this pressure washer. The 3.0 orifice size wll also work with pressure washers at different psi ratings depending on the gpm rating. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Do you have any self priming pressure washers for sale (gas or electric) ? I have wood deck on my 1/2 acre pond to clean & would like to be able to use the pond water. Thankyou. by John from Ohio on March 25, 2011
A: Yes, all Karcher branded pressure washers both the gas and electric versions have self priming pumps that can pull water from a standing source such as a tank or pond. We also sell Kranzle and DirtKiller brand pressure washers which too have self priming pumps. Kranzle and DirtKiller only offer professional grade pressure washers while Karcher offers residential and prosumer grade models.
I would definitely recommend that you use a filter on the end of the hose that is placed in the pond to prevent debris from entering the pump. Karcher makes a hose with filter for this purpose that we sell as an accessory. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: What happens when you use hot water in a Karcher electric power washer? I never knew they were (Electric-Cold Water) listed. by Bob Mills from Michigan on March 25, 2011
A: Karcher's cold water pressure washers can accept water up to 104F degrees. This is common with all cold water pressure washers. Using water hotter than 104F degrees in a cold water pressure washer will definitely damage and wear away the seals in the pump, causing the pump to fail. This is the fastest way to damage a pump that is rated for "cold water". by Bill, Product Expert

Karcher Pressure Washer
I bought the HD2.53.0CH model based on PWD recomendations, and am very pleased with the performance of the unit.
The things that I thought were important in a unit were the motor and the pump. And this one has a very good Honda motor and a good pump.
The unit was delivered as scheduled within 5 days I think, assembly was very easy, and it started within a few pulls of the started cord. I bought the unit to strip off some not so good looking concrete sealer started with a 25 degree nozzle, and ended up using the 0 degree, which prompted me to order a turbo nozzle.
If you have some tough areas, the turbo nozzle is the way to go. Since the back yard concrete deck job, I have pressure washed the sidewalks, and some of the concrete roof tiles with very good results. I need to order another 25 feet of hose so that I can finish the roof.
But up to this point I am very happy with this pressure washer.

Cleaning Made Easy
I just used my power washer on the driveway, deck, and shed. No problems if you follow the directions.
Started up easily and not difficult to use. The only problem is that my wife now sees the potential and wants me to do more.
My advice to the husbands do NOT show your spouse the results. I warned you. It is starting to detract from my golf game, not good.

Fantastic Service & Product.
I ordered the washer on a Sunday and it was delivered on the following Wed. Unbelievable service and shipping was paid by seller.
It took me all of about 30 minutes to assemble. The washer started on the second pull and never gave me a problem.
Even when it ran out of gas and I tried to restart it after I filled it, it started on the first pull.
This is a fantastic pressure washer, it does all it is supposed to and more. I washed 2 cars, washed my driveway, and then did my 2 story house and all came spotlessly clean.
If you want a washer thats worth more than what it cost you, this is the one.
Thanks Pressure Washer Direct..............

After trying a couple different electric models, both of which were horrible, I realized that the only way to get a good machine that works is go with gas.
This one is priced right, starts easy, not too noisy, and is very powerful; almost too powerful for many applications. It's not heavy and rolls around easily.
Great machine!

Pulled One Time
This power washer is great!
I pulled it right out of the box, put it together, added oil included and gas. Then I pulled ONE TIME on the starter cord and it started right up!
After several years with my Briggs & Stratton engine power washer, this is just unbelievable.

Runs & Works Great
unit arrived on time, as promised. unpacked and aired up tires. filled with oil and gas. oil fill is somewhat tricky but the special bottle enclosed helped facilitate adding without spilling oil everywhere.
I didnt have the proper soap so washed my 3 cars with washer only, and it did a very good job. then pressured washed off my wood redwood deck, that the stain was badly weathered, and flaking off. took some time but managed to
get it to stage where can restain, again with just water only.
impressed with ease of starting, love the manual choke and automatic rpm speed when activating the wand. did notice after 2 hrs oil was very thin and skunky looking, so drain and refilled with new oil. was told by Bill at pwc this is normal as new engine
contains some metal particles from manufacturing process. runs and work great.
ps some one else must think so too, as after my 1st and only day of using it the unit was stolen from my
garage the following day, so am saving up to purchase another.

Could Use It More If It Wasn't So Hot
Easy to assemble. Started easily the first time with three pulls.
Spray is very strong and does a good job with porch dirt. Now if it wasn't so darn HOT here in Texas I could use it more often.
Can't really use the unit at 6am as it does make a significant noise. It will cool off soon, and I have several projects in mind.
Very fast shipping and the unit arrived safely.

Love This Power Washer
I love this Power Washer. I was looking at the Briggs & Stratton 3000 psi, but when I checked the weight it was about 80 lbs and that was just too heavy for me Im strong, but not as strong as a man. The Karcher is around 6065 lbs and that I can manage.
Its a great machine. It takes a couple of pulls to get it started when cold. But, any restarts after its been in use are an easy one pull.
My only complaint is where they put the oil plug. It really is stupid. There is no way you can put anything directly under the oil plug to catch the oil. You have to place the machine on a hill with the oil plug side on the downslope or prop up the machine and let it drain across the machine and then drip into a receptacle placed under it and hope you catch it all. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!!
Other than that, its been awesome. I've washed my deck and am in the process of washing my Railroad tie steps and flagstone insets. House is next on my list!

A Good Deal
This pressure washer worked great to clean up my house in preparation for painting.
I did notice the throttle fluctuating high and low which caused the pressure to fluctuate high and low while I was spraying which got a little annoying. After reading the trouble shooting section of the manual, I determined it was related to how much water I was supplying to the pump and whether there were any leaks at the hose bib connections or kinks in the hose.
I figured out a 5/8" hose doesn't cut it for this machine. When I used a 3/4" hose, the throttle fluctuation went away. My house's 62 year old rust-filled galvanized pipes might have something to do with it too.
One thing I thought is important to mention for future people buying this rig is either the oil capacity specified in the Honda manual is incorrect or the 20oz container of 1030w oil provided has more than 20oz. I read the instructions carefully before running the machine and saw that the oil capacity for the engine was 20oz and the amount supplied was 20oz.
One would assume the engine would take the whole container of oil. My mistake. I ended up overfilling the oil and luckily I only ran it for a few minutes and then checked the oil level on perfectly level ground. Oil came pouring out, letting me know I overfilled it. But, you have to love these Honda engines. It pretty much starts on the first pull every time.
I think this pressure washer is a good deal and I will probably buy future equipment Power Equipment Direct.
PWD RESPONDS: Good thinking on using a larger diameter garden hose! Each of these units are tested before they leave Karcher, so sometimes there is residual oil left in the engine.

Great Experience...highly Recommended
I'm very impressed with the entire PWD experience.
The website was easily navigable. I liked seeing customer reviews and was impressed with the customer support responsiveness entries that I saw.
My order was confirmed, shipped and received within a few days. The washer was double boxed which was nice. The instructions and manual were easy to follow and assembly was a snap. The washer started on the second pull and works like a charm. I like the multiple nozzles. Frame is very solid, and it has nice big tires for easy pulling up stairs, etc.
Since I just purchased the unit, I cant vouch for how it'll hold up over time but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend PWD to my family/friends.
It was a very positive experience as an internet purchase.

Straightforward Operation
This Honda engine is really great. Assembly of the whole unit was very easy.
The operation of the unit is very straightforward and is not as tiresome as other units I have used. My only complaint is the oil dipstick. Because it is on an angle in the housing it is not always easy to measure the oil level.

Very Satisfied
This is a great pressure washer. Unfortunately, after assembly it wouldn't start. I checked the fuel, oil, and spark and everything seemed fine. Finally I checked the air filter which was soaked with oil, suffocating the motor and preventing it from starting.
The problem: the unit shipped with oil and gas inside remnants from initial testing at the factory. The oil seeped into the air filter housing unit from being rotated while in the container.
I had to buy a new air filter about $6.00 at a local shop and the motor fired right up. The pressure washer is very powerful and has done great with all the jobs Ive thrown at it thus far.
Also, the unit was missing the 15 degree fitting I'm going to have to give Pressure Washers Direct or Karcher a call on my lunch break but I'm sure this wont be too big of an issue.
Overall, aside from the initial hiccups, I'm very satisfied with this product.
PWD RESPONDS: It would be best to give the Karcher Commercial folks a call (toll free) at 888-805-9852. Please have the serial number of your unit handy when you call; they will probably ask for it.

No Idea What Happened
The pressure works fine. I had used this model before and knew its capability.
I had it on a job for a few hours cleaning a roof. This was the first time we used the machine. After about two hours of engine time, the pump quit operating. After about 30 minutes of fooling with the washer, the pump started working again.I do not have any idea what happened.

After looking at and comparing pressure washers from the big box stores and online sources, I decided on the Karcher pressure washer from Pressure Washers Direct. The Honda engine and hopefully better quality pump than other units I looked at were major selling points. I have been wanting to purchase a pressure washer for a number of years and from my research, the lack of a quality high pressure pump seems to be a major issue with consumer grade pressure washers. I didn't want to purchase a use it one year and throw it away piece of equipment.
After the initial first time startup, the unit has been a one-pull to start. So far the washer has worked well and has cleaned anything I have put in front of it. It even made the cruddy looking grate in the gas grill look like new!
I wanted to take the pressure washer to our lake property and clean the vinyl siding on the house. The washer was about 2 inches too tall to put in the trunk of the car and still be able to close the lid. My wife suggested putting it on the back seat. So after putting a piece of cardboard and old blanket on the seat and removing the handle on the washer, the washer easily fit in the back. I seat belted the washer in place and we were good to go. The washer is light enough for one person to pick up.
On the down side, one of the tire valve stem caps was missing and the hose hanger has fallen off the handle after the nuts and bolts vibrated loose. I installed a couple of locking nuts and solved the hanger problem. A problem I am a bit more concerned about is the cloud of blue smoke that comes out of the engine each and every time the engine is started. I am hoping this will clear up once the engine gets a few more hours running time on it. Possibly this is normal and caused by going from full speed to off and then off to full speed since there is no throttle control. I am a bit surprised about this given Honda's reputation.
Overall the Karcher pressure washer seems to be a good product for the money.

So Far Not So Good
I just received my PW 2 days ago. I followed the instructions, added the oil etc. Once the garden hose 58 of an inch was connected and turned full, I pulled the trigger on the wand to release any trapped air. Once done I fired it up. After 3 pulls okay in my book it fired up. I had attached the 40 white spray head and started blasting moss of a large rock in the yard just for a test. I got full power for 10 seconds. The engine sounded loud and the pump spray dropped pressure. This lasted for another 5 sec then I would get full pressure again. I quickly shut down and checked by troubleshooting guide in the manual. It sounded like I may have had air in the pump or a kink in the hose. I rechecked the hose no kinks and went through the steps to purge air from the pump if any.
Once done I repeated th steps and the same issue happened. As of yesterday 6232011, I called PW directs service line. The person stated that PW Direct doesn't have techs that know about this PW. He referred me to the Karcher phone number. I called it and since I could only choose from a small amount of options I was forced to locate my local authorized repair shop.
My local shop is 10 miles away no to bad. The owner is someone that works out of his garage and not a repair shop as I thought. The owner advised me that all he would do is replace the pump and if it was an engine problem I would have to call Honda. I thought I could just return it to PW Direct but was told by the operator that they do not take returns.
So what is my point? Overall I know this is a good PW but this particular one is driving my crazy, not the best Father's Day gift. I'm sure it will get fixed or have the issues worked out, but how much time and effort will it take? From reading other comments I thought I would be up and running that day.
I am open to help. I don't know what else I can do other than have the pump changed, I've run out of options.
PWD RESPONDS: We apologize for the inconvenience. It is against Federal Law to ship an engine that has had gas in it because of the fire/explosion hazard, which is why we referred you to Karcher service.
Purging the air from the pump was an excellent first step; usually that will do the trick. Something else to check is the length of your garden hose- much longer than 30 feet and your pump may not be getting enough water volume (this happens with slow wells, too).
Another thing to check is the filter screen where your garden hose attaches to the pressure washer. If there's grit or debris blocking the filter, that will limit the water volume & cause surging as well.

A Few Quality Issues
Works very good, BUT a few quality issues:
The plastic coupler fitting coming out of the pump to hook the to hose stripped out the third time we used it, and a small o-ring tore on the hose coupler assembly
How do we get replacement parts? We cannot use machine until we replace parts. When paying $500 for a machine, you should not have these quality flaws or have to deal with trying to get replacements so you are able to use it.

Great So Far!
I bought this model because it seemed to have the most positive reviews of anything in my price range.
It showed up on time as promised, assembled quickly and easily, fired up immediately, and cleaned all my patios and concrete beautifully.
Have used it a half-dozen times over the last several weeks, and it works flawlessly so far.
I am pleased with the purchase!

Should Last Years
Got pressure washer 4 or 5 days after ordering. It was very easy to assemble, just a matter of putting handle together and attach hose, Add gas and oil.
It took about 5 pulls the first time to start but starts on the first pull after that. Honda motor runs quieter than most.
I need to put a little teflon tape where the hose attaches to the gun- a little drip but no big deal.
I'm very happy with the pressure washer, I opted for Karcher over what is found at the local big box stores because of the pump; it should last years.

Great Machine; Needed Cushion
I purchased the Karcher HD2.530 CH based on the reviews of others. I found the pressure washer to work awesome and very pleased with it. There is one issue and it is this:
There is only one rubber cushion on the backside under the frame, although there are three holes to screw the cushions to the frame. After putting the pressure washer together, it continued to fall over to one side, the side with the wand and pressure hose.
I called Pressure Washer Direct and was told to call the manufacturer. I called them, was given the run around, and gave up. I then went online and found the insulator cushion, ordered and installed it, and was done.
Other than that, great machine.
PWD RESPONDS: Since your pressure washer has a factory warranty, Karcher requires us to refer customers to them for service related issues.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and are working with our Karcher contacts to improve the level of service our customers receive.
We appreciate your business, and that you took the time to tell us where improvement is needed!

Nice Machine
I purchased this unit along with a 3.0 orifice turbo nozzle from PWD and couldn't be happier.
No issues as seen below- unit and all parts arrived in perfect shape, double boxed, tires were inflated, o-rings and water connectors have worked fine. This a very powerful pressure washer for the home user and good value.
Id like to point something out to those that complain about the oil drain. The Honda motor has dual drain plugs. If you use the one opposite the fill hole, you'll see that Karcher put an opening in the frame for the oil to drain through. Use this drain and you'll avoid a mess.
The only thing I'd do different is assemble the handle bar as shown in the photo and not per the instructions so the wand doesn't cover the gas cap, but this is such a minor detail and I could always switch it.
Thanks PWD for a nice pressure washer at a good price with good service.

Great Machine, With A Poor Quality Plastic Connector Fitting
Used machine three times. Works great, but the connector coupling where the hose hooks up has a plastic fitting with fine threads.
Come on, KARCHER- this is a 500.00 dollar piece of equipment.
PWD RESPONDS: To save wear and tear on the supply side (garden hose) connector, you may want to add a quick connector set.
We sell a brass set by General Pump (part#D10010); you can also find them at your local hardware store.

Simple Problem, Simple Fix- Happy Washer
This is far and away the best consumer-type pressure washer I've used. I have rented and borrowed others, but none combined the power and ease of use like this one. Like others, my decision to purchase this was largely based on the reviews.
I did have the same problem mentioned by Kurt H. below. After about 2 hours the connection between wand and gun was leaking due to a torn O-Ring. So, don't know if Karcher got a bad lot of O-rings or they are being damaged during assembly. But its a readily available part that you can get from your local hardware store. It's the #8 O-ring at Ace Hardware. Don't expect to find it at the Big Box stores.
The only real drawback is in trying to change the oil. I changed it as recommended after the initial 5 hours of use. The drain plug is right on frame base so all the oil spreads out on the base plate and runs everywhere. What a mess! Next time Ill drain it from the fill port by putting it on the edge of my porch and tilting it.
But if you do make a mess, now you've got a great pressure washer to help clean up!

Great Pressure Washer
I ordered this washer 2 month ago, got it a day early and it has been setting for all that time.
My son-in-law came over with a commercial machine. Well, I tell you what, this Karcher out-performed that commercial job 2 to 1. That Honda motor- set the choke and one pull and starts right up. I'm sure it will give me years of service.
Thanks, Pressure Washers Direct.

Great Machine
This machine does the job as expected. The pressure is enough to clean a large space. It's easy to assemble, light weight, has an additional feature- it's Honda motor is easy to start and the fuel consumption is low.
I recommend it for quality, performance, and good price. Besides, Pressure Washers Direct.com delivery is fast and the packing is safe with a double box.
I expect to buy another one for my cousin- thanks a lot.

Reviews Were True...
The reviews that I read prior to purchase were true. The power washer was delivered within 3 days and was very easy to assemble.
It fired right up and it made cleaning my 30 x 20 deck a snap. After about 2 hours of operation a drip developed between the wand and the spray gun connection. I tightened it up but it still leaked. I took it apart and found the rubber o-ring had split. I will order another o-ring and be on my way to power washing my PVC fence.

The unit arrived double boxed and in good shape.
Easy to assemble with very few things to do. A few bolts, put air in the tires and fill with oil and gas.
Instructions are a little confusing but you cannot use over the counter detergents. You have to use Karcher type with this unit.
Easy to start up and use. Strong enough to make short order of 2 patios and mold on brick.
Good Product so far.
PWD RESPONDS: The brand of detergent you use isn't as important as making sure it says "pressure washer safe".
Many pressure washers will run the detergent with the water stream, through your pump. Pressure washer safe detergent won't damage the seals in your pump, or corrode the metal parts.

Time To Clean The Outside Of The House
I ordered this pressure washer 4 days ago and it just got here- very fast shipping.
When it got here I checked it out and put it together- very easy assembly.
I tested it, and I recommend getting it for the price- it's awesome and gets the job done right; although I wish it had a bigger gas tank.

Just a note to let you know the washer is great . The only thing that would have been nice is a throttle control and a longer hose. Also a container for the soap would have been nice.

Blown Hose
The 3000 PSI hose blew a hole in less than 10 minutes use. The Authorized service center wants me to drop off the entire unit so they can order a hose.
It was nice of PWD to get the unit delivered to me in 5 days, but it looks like it'll be Spring before I get to use it. NOT HAPPY!!
PWD RESPONDS: We apologize for the inconvenience. The manufacturer can have the entire unit inspected to make their warranty decision, since their warranty only covers defects in materials and workmanship.
If they find melted hose on the muffler, that would be considered mis-use, and is not covered under the Factory Warranty.

Dont Have It Yet!
I ordered the pressure washer on Sept. 9th and will have to wait until October 5th to find out if it will be shipped, or if that will be my 3rd backorder notice.
PWD RESPONDS: We appreciate your patience! Karcher units arrive in the US on container ships. Karcher tells us when they expect the shipment to arrive, and usually they are pretty accurate.
However, all the hurricane activity on the Atlantic Ocean has disrupted shipping schedules. As soon as Karcher updates us with a due date, we send out word to our customers.
As we said in the email update we sent out on 9/23, if you have any questions or wish to discuss other options, you are welcome to give us a call at at 800-710-7499.
We sincerely hope the next email you get from us will be to tell you your unit has shipped!

Works fine , except it leaks a lot at the connection of the metal wand and the handle.
The drain for the oil is a really dumb location, very hard to change without oil going all over the place.

Very Efficient
I had my eye on a different pressure washer with a Honda engine at a big box store. I started in earnest looking at pressure washers last Monday 8/16/2010.
I read many reviews and went to several web sites. I settled on this pressure washer. I ordered it on Tuesday and it was delivered on Friday.
It took about an hour to unbox, read the assembly and operating instructions and put it together. On Saturday I went out to test it.
The Honda engine started on the first pull. I have since done other jobs and the Honda engine has always started on the first pull. This is a very efficient pressure washer.
I also have a Lawnboy Z mower with a Honda engine. You pay more for a Honda product but you get a quality, long lasting product.

I borrowed a neighbor's Karcher and liked it so well I gave it back to him and bought my own.

Happy Once I Got It Started
I could not get the motor running when I opened it up and got it ready. It smelled like I flooded the engine after one pull. I let it rest and then tried again and the same thing happened.
Then I noticed gas coming out the overflow tube or drain tube- I'm assuming that is what the tube is for. I took the spark plug out and it was dry. I figured it wasn't flooded because the gas was not reaching the spark plug.
After checking out the manual and the Internet, and seeing how to drain the gas for the winter, I saw the screw that needs to be tightened so the gas does not flow out the drain tube.
I tightened the screw, and two pulls on the starter cord started it right up. It runs and works great!!
I figure the jostling from the delivery could have loosened the screw. The unfortunate thing is I didn't know what to do without really studying the manual and checking the Internet.
I am very happy with the power washer once I was able to get it started.

Pleased With My Purchase Of This Unit
I received my new washer quickly, PWD shipped it the day ordered and it was delivered to the door three days later.
This is my third pressure washer and looks like it will be the best. I had some trouble with assembly, the powder coater over did the application on the handle and it took about a half an hour of scraping, sanding, and banging to get the top half of the handle in place.
Adding air to the tires was a trick, the valve stems were too long for the wheel and the ends are right up against the wheel hubs. I consider these things to be minor.
I agree with another reviewer that the oil fill and drain on the Honda could use some attention from engineering. Its a mess to fill or drain.
The Honda runs great, however and the pump seems well above average for a consumer unit. The unit has plenty of power and runs smoothly. The wand is good and the whole unit stores compactly when not in use.
All in all, I think you would be pleased with this unit. I think it is the best you will see at this price point and to do any better you would have to spend considerably more.

I had purchased a Simonize gas pressure washer a few years again. Apart from being hard to start, the unit worked okay initially.
After the winter, the unit would not start and I found that the carburetor had rusted out and needed replacement. As I was just over the warranty period, Simonize said they were not going to cover the cost of fixing it.
In addition, they said that I could not buy any parts from them and there was nowhere I could get service. When I asked if I should just throw the thing out, I was told yes. In a nutshell, Simonize is garbage and I would never buy anything that had their name on it.
This time I did some investigation and narrowed my options down to the Karcher HD 2.530 CH. The unit arrived quickly and immediately went into use.
I have to say that it has performed like a dream. One of the best things is the easy start.
Just one pull and the Honda motor starts EVERY time, whether its been running for an hour or its starting cold.
Even my wife has not had any issues starting the pressure washer.
Anyway, this is a great piece of equipment for the money and I highly recommend it.

I rate this a good machine. It appears to be reliable.
It has the power a homeowner needs for decks, furniture, house siding, etc.

Excellent Product
An excellent product.......quality brass fittings....the Honda engine, and it really cleans. My jobs take a fraction of the time that they used to and the results are excellent.
It is also light enough that I can throw it in the trunk of my car for transport should that be necessary. It stores nicely in my garage along side my car.
Setup is really quick and easy. I am looking forward to many years of trouble free usage on my second Karcher.

Thrilled
This is my third pressure washer and second Karcher product. Overall, I am satisfied and specifically chose this one because of the Honda motor.
The previous washer I had was actually heavier duty, but the motor was challenging right out of the box. Conversely, the Honda powered Karcher is exactly what I had expected.
I was a bit disappointed with the plastic tip holder between the handlebars as one of the holding slots has already broken cheap plastic tines hold the tips in place...Ive attached a plastic bag to hold the tips....effective but trashy looking.
Also, the washer was delivered with un-inflated tires...no big deal but the directions didn't address it, indicating to me that they were intended to have been delivered inflated.
I would absolutely purchase this unit from you again and am thrilled so far.
PWD RESPONDS: Thank you for dealing with the flat tires; please let Karcher know at (800) 537-4129 if they have any problems staying inflated. We are sending you a new tip holder so your pressure washer will look good, too.

No Support
I have never been able to start the Karcher 3000 psi Easy Start Honda engine that I purchased in November, 2009.
The phone number for support does NOT answer, and after an email for support, two authorized repair shops in my area are NOT authorized to make repairs on this machine.
I have been duped, and intend to go more public, since this will never be published.
PWD RESPONDS: We understand your frustration. The unit you actually purchased was a G3050OH-R; a reconditioned Karcher 3000psi pressure washer with a Honda GC engine.
Reconditioned units came with a 30 day Factory warranty. Your unit was delivered on 12/1/2009, and you contacted us on 12/4/2009 to say you had a problem. We referred you to Karcher's service number, which should have directed you to a Honda service facility in your area if it was an engine problem and not the pump.
We have no record of any further contact from you.
It is now 6 months later; the warranty has expired and Federal law prohibits shipment of an engine that has been gassed up. There is not a lot we can do to help at this point, but we are happy to try.
We will contact you directly with whatever assistance we can develop.

Like The Machine; Stupid Oil Drain
This unit has the most stupid oil draining setup that I have ever seen. It almost appears that the Honda
engine used was placed on the wrong frame. The oil change requires that you allow the oil to run all over
the frame and ground since the plug is right on top of the bottom plate.
Now maybe there is some drain ramp that could be made out of plastic that would catch most of the oil, I don't know.
Otherwise, I like the machine just fine. Bad error in this regard however. Let me know if there is some other way to change or adjust for the oil drainage.
PWD RESPONDS: You can give the folks at Karcher Tech Support a call, toll free, at (800) 537-4129 for any hints or tips they may have for making the oil change easier.

The Honda engine started right up (it is a Honda, after all) and the pressure washer made my $7000 investment look like the day that I installed it.
I actually got comments from neighbors that it looked like a brand new fence. If you have any kind of fencing, or better yet your home, you cannot afford NOT to own one these pressure washers.
The only bad thing is you start thinking of more uses for your pressure washer every day: the kids playground, the driveway, the grill, etc.
I got a quote from a contractor to pressure wash my home and fence for $250; over half the price of the pressure washer. This is no-brainer.

Instruction On Application Needed With Instructions
The unit is great. Easy to start. But one thing I noticed that ff the spray gun is not held in just the right position there will be streaks of wood and concrete dug out of the surface being cleaned.
The spray of water must be horizontal because the ends of the water spray are that strong. This precaution should have been in the manual!
Also the Karcher detergent for house siding is not strong enough to remove mildew/dirt combination. Is there any way to get that clean other than CHLOROX which is not allowed in the tubing?
PWD RESPONDS: Page 8 in the Owner's Manual discusses spray width and intensity, with a VERY strong caution about using the 0° spray on soft or delicate surfaces.
Several cautions exist on pages 12 and 13 about not using the Dirtblaster Turbo nozzle on sensitive surfaces. Warnings about damage to humans and pets appear on pages 1 and 8.
The angle of spray is determined by how far away you are and the material being cleaned. Stepping back will always result in a less powerful spray.
We also have Spray Stories on our web site. You may find "How To Get Started With A Pressure Washer" helpful, as well as "How To Turn Your Siding From Drab To Fab". Just click on the Buyer's Guides button at the bottom of every web page, and select "Spray Stories" (the siding story is on the second page of titles).
For stubborn mold and mildew you may need to use a separate applicator (like a $10 pump spray tank) to apply a mildew product; then use the pressure washer to spray it off. Please follow the instructions on the mildew product carefully to protect yourself, your landscaping, and your pets.

The pressure washer worked great for the first tank of gas.
After I filled the tank again and ran it for about an 45 minutes to an hour, the machine konked out. It still had half a tank of gas left- I couldn't pull the starter cord.
I think the system seized up. Karcher tells me that it will be covered for repair but I still haven't taken it in yet. I need to borrow a truck as it will not fit in my car.
PWD RESPONDS: It is always a good idea to check the oil level before using a small engine; and then check it again periodically during use.

Love It, However-
I love the pressure washer, HOWEVER, on the very first use the water inlet adapter part number 91340190 stripped out of the pump.
I submitted a warranty claim through a Karcher authorized dealer on 3/22 for a replacement adapter, but I still have not received the replacement part.
I have rigged the connection by bulking up the threads with Teflon tape and then tying the hose and connection to the frame of the unit so it can't move and, therefore, cannot pull away.
This appears to be the weak link on this pressure washer, and I would like to see the adapter be made of brass of some other metal instead of the plastic that came with the washer.
The Honda engine starts easily, and the gasoline tank is significantly larger than the tanks on some of the other brands that I considered.

Great Bang For The Buck!
It's not so bulky like some 3000 psi washers, but that's not to say that it isn't sturdy; and I can lift it myself if need be.
All the parts are quality and rust free right down to those big wheels. I was sold on the Honda engine, but I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality from head to toe.
It is also quieter than I expected but I'm comparing it to the $400 2600psi Craftsman brand with the Briggs and Stratton engine that I had for 10 years.
That one had been repaired a couple times over a decade and it was good, but time to move on before it became a money pit. It also was temperamental starting up.
Bang for the buck- buy this 3000 psi power washer under $500 bucks, made tough and durable by Karcher with a Honda engine that starts right up (along with free shipping)-
Good luck luck trying to beat this power washer with anything Lowes or Home Depot or Sears sells at a similar price.
My nosy neighbor likes the results of the Karcher so much, that he's not gonna borrow it, he's buying the same one and that's why I'm on the website right now looking up this model for him. (Just kidding about the nosy comment, Joe.)
I don't blame you for admiring it. My driveway, walkway and patios look new again.
