Q: how many kilo watt is it? by Kai on April 19, 2011
A: This model uses 13 amps at 120 Volts which means this machine uses 1,560 watts or 1.56 KW. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Have a Karcher K2.93 Plus that will no longer power up. Have tried the reset and test buttons with no success. Any suggestions before I open this baby up. Am particularary concerned about breaching the watertight seal. Any suggestions would be appreciated. by Larry from Texas on April 17, 2011
A: If the unit is less than a year old, it will be covered under warranty and you should contact Karcher about the issue to get it replaced. If not, I would try multiple outlets if you havent already. Also confirm that the GFCI plug is not tripped or constantly tripping. Finally, confirm that the circuit breaker in your house has not tripped.
As for the pressure washer itelf, just the on/off switch could be bad which is sometimes a common issue with electric pressure washers and can usually be replaced. Unfortunately we do not sell parts for electric pressure washers. If the problem is not any of these issues, you are probably dealing with a motor issue and more than likely it is not repairable through a replacement part. If the motor is bad, a replacement unit is the best option versus attempting to repair it. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: What happens when you use hot water in a Karcher electric power washer? I never knew they were (Electric-Cold Water) listed. by Bob Mills from Michigan on March 25, 2011
A: Karcher's cold water pressure washers can accept water up to 104F degrees. This is common with all cold water pressure washers. Using water hotter than 104F degrees in a cold water pressure washer will definitely damage and wear away the seals in the pump, causing the pump to fail. This is the fastest way to damage a pump that is rated for "cold water". by Bill, Product Expert

Split elbow
After two years of use the elbow developed a leak. It didn't freeze so I don't know how it happened. I have ordered a part to fix it and hopefully I can manage to repair it myself. I don't live anywhere near a place that will work on Karchers. That was my mistake, if I can't fix it.
PWD ANSWERS: Karcher electric pressure washers all come with a 1 year Rapid Exchange warranty. In short, if you have a problem in the first year, you call Karcher, get the OK, send in your pressure washer and receive a replacement.
There are very few places left that repair small electric appliances, but you could check your local Yellow Pages to see if there is one near you that could help. And, you can give Karcher Tech Support a call, toll free, at (800) 537-4129 to get the part you need.

Should be rated BEST
It has done the job on everything I have used it on. I am surprised how will it works for a small washer.
I am very well pleased.
I had a problem with the Vario sprayer not working, so I called Karcher and in three days had a new one.
One gripe- I thought it would be made in Germany, not China. When I got the new wand it was made in Germany; hoping that is not all.
I would recommend the washer to anyone for home use.
PWD RESPONDS: Karcher is the world's largest manufacturer of pressure washers, and all the engineering and design is done in their home office in Germany.
They source parts and equipment from all over the world- Germany, Italy, and yes- China. Everybody's looking for the lowest price for the best equipment, and cheap labor is part of that equation.
Karcher monitors their overseas factories very closely to maintain their high standards for quality control. This is much different from "no-name" units that are produced with minimum quality checks and very little customer support.

Perfect Birthday Present
Our son-in-law is very happy with the pressure washer.
He had previously purchased another brand and was unhappy with it.
So I suggested that he borrow ours and he was quite happy with it so it made a perfect birthday present from us!
Thank you!

Absolute junk...
After reading the reviews here, I am rethinking buying the replacement gun. Mine too went into the shed dry, came out this spring to use it and even replaced the o-ring direct from Karcher.
Karcher sent me a red and a black and their customer service can't tell me which one goes in what location. Go figure!, Only to have water leak everywhere.
PWD RESPONDS: Karcher relies on their Authorized Service Network for repair details; their Customer Service reps are mostly for answering product questions and possess very basic troubleshooting skills.
It's a question of using the right tool for the job- to find the Karcher Service center nearest you, just click on the Customer Service button at the bottom of of our web site, select Service Centers and click on the Karcher link.

This Is My Second Washer From You. the First One Lasted Several Years and Then I Had An Electric Problem. I Then Bought the Second One and Gave the Old One to a Friend.
He Was Good Enough to Fix the Electric Problem. But the Wand No Longer Operated- Don'T Know Why Because It Did Work Before the Electric Problem. At Any Rate, I Found the Part On the Internet At $53. This Seems Outrageous to Me Since My New Unit Only Cost a Little Over $100 and It Has Two Wands. the Model Was 1.855870. Does This Seem Reasonable?
Now For the Rest of My Sad Story. I Put the New Washer in in My Trailer Behind My Grass Mower and Didn'T Notice That the Hose Was Dragging On the Concrete When Going Up the Driveway. Well, It Rubbed the Rubber Off and Thus Leaked At That Point. I Called For a Replacement Hose and Found It to Be $48.
Needless to Say I Did Not Buy It But Instead Cut the Hose in Two Pieces and Went to the Hardware Store and Bought Two Clamps and a Brass Insert. It Works, But I Still Wonder Why the Hose Costs So Much Since It Is Only a Small Part of the Whole System.
Other Than Those Minor Problems Both Washers Worked Fine and I Liked the Round Swirly Wand. It Worked Very Nice On My Driveway.
Pwd Responds: Karcher Pressure Washers Are Designed in Germany, and Many of the Parts Are Made in Germany or Italy. That Makes Them More Expensive Than Parts Made in China or Other Low-Cost Labor Countries.
It Is Not a Good Idea to Put Hardware Store Connectors in a High Pressure Hose- If They Rupture You Could Be Injured! There Are Several Companies That Make Less Expensive Parts For Karcher Pressure Washers- We Carry Some by Powerwasher.
Please Be Sure to Check That What You Order Says "Will Fit Karcher"; Connectors Vary Between Brands, and We Don'T Want You to Be Disappointed.

Just happened to see this ...
and thought Id put in my 2 cents worth. I have a Karcher electric pressure washer that must be 20 years old now. I dont even know what model it is.
I do live in a cold climate so it gets properly drained each time it is used which is generally once a year. Then it's stored in an outside building.
It has never once failed to do the job and has never required any repairs. Maybe the older ones were better quality.
I have no complaints with mine. Just used it again over the weekend, no problemo.

Just arrived and works great
My previous Karcher lasted for several years, and I suspect it only died because I'd been lax about draining and we had a severe winter.
The new one arrived a few days ago and and we've been busy doing all the jobs we had lined up, mainly deck and outside furniture. It works fine.
Now I just have to remember to do the right things at the end of the season.
PWD RESPONDS: You may want to consider a product like Pump Saver. It will act like an anti-freeze as well as lubricating the seals in the pump.
Just follow the directions on the can!

Not recommended
I had the first unit replaced under warranty. The second unit lasted a few uses and the motor died like the first unit.
I would not recommend wasting any time or money on this washer.
