| Karcher Pressure Washer Problems |

I purchased a 1750 psi Karcher electric pressure washer (K3.47M) in the spring of '09 from a warehouse store and it worked the first 3 times, and that was it.
I called the 800 number, returned the electrical cord and Karcher sent me an 1800 psi reconditioned unit replacement. It lasted 4 minutes before blowing out the bottom and releasing all the water.
I returned that cord to Karcher, they sent me another 1800 psi recon model and the same thing happened 2 days ago.
Now it's fall and I still don't have a pressure washer. In frustration I dumped the whole recon unit back at the warehouse store and they returned my money.
The Karcher service was great...the product was junk! |

| Poor Quality Pressure Washer |

I bought this product in July 2008 and used it 2 or 3 times with decent results. Then upon trying to use it a 4th time the pump would not come on.
Karcher replaced the unit quickly and the re-manufactured unit worked for approximately 10 minutes; then the fuse blew.
Karcher has sent a 3rd unit, which I have not yet received.
Just by reading the reviews attached it appears that the unit should not be run for more than 20 - 30 minutes... This is unbelievable, what a piece of garbage. |

| Karcher Parts are AWOL |

I managed to damage the hose connector (on the low pressure side) of this unit and was surprised to learn that Karcher does not provide replacement parts.
They publish a nice online parts list, but you have to go to a third party to get them. This simple part was was not available from either of their recommended vendors. So, my four month old pressure washer is now trash.
PWD Responds: Karcher provides a one year factory warranty on their new electric units. Adding quick connect adapters to the hoses can prevent premature wear on plastic hose inlets. |

| What They Don't Tell You |

I bought a new Karcher K3.99M power washer (electric with 1,650 psi)in March '07. I used it 4-5 times over a year and a half and then it quit working. I called the 1-800-537-4129 number on the front of the unit and was told that as it was out of the 1 year warranty period, they (Karcher) could not help me.
Karcher then gave me a 1-800-383-6584 number to call in order to troubleshoot the problem and get replacement parts. Upon calling that number, I was told by the parts people that these electric units have a plastic pump and are not designed to be run for more than 20-30 minutes at a time or the pump may burn up. I had been running mine for 3-4 hours.
A WORD OF CAUTION - BUY THESE KARCHER ELECTRIC UNITS AT YOUR OWN RISK. When I called back to the Karcher
technical and customer support to express my displeasure Karcher said that these units were not designed for any extended use; and that there was nothing that they could do for me.
It would be nice, and good business, if this usage information was CLEARLY MARKED somewhere on the unit, sales literature or somewhere so you would know what you were getting. |
