Q: during winter -will this be damaged in any way I am talking about model k5.68. Is this a good choice for cedar siding and concrete and pavers? by Bill from New Jersey on June 02, 2011
A: During the winter you would want to take this inside. The problem you can have is the pumps and other pieces on the machine freeze up and the washer would not work.
This would work fine on your pavers and the siding.
Q: What kind of detergent or other liquids such as ArmorAll be used in the Karcher model K5.68 pressure washer? by DARYL HAMMOND from Ohio on April 30, 2011
A: I would only recommend detergents that are labeled as being "pressure washer safe". There are many different types and brands available. Any other type of chemical that is used in this machine could absolutely dry out the seals and o rings and cause the pump to leak or stop producing pressure.
Unfortunately we do not carry any type of ArmorAll chemical that is considered "pressure washer safe". I am posting a link below to all of the detergents we carry:

Q: Do you have any self priming pressure washers for sale (gas or electric) ? I have wood deck on my 1/2 acre pond to clean & would like to be able to use the pond water. Thankyou. by John from Ohio on March 25, 2011
A: Yes, all Karcher branded pressure washers both the gas and electric versions have self priming pumps that can pull water from a standing source such as a tank or pond. We also sell Kranzle and DirtKiller brand pressure washers which too have self priming pumps. Kranzle and DirtKiller only offer professional grade pressure washers while Karcher offers residential and prosumer grade models.
I would definitely recommend that you use a filter on the end of the hose that is placed in the pond to prevent debris from entering the pump. Karcher makes a hose with filter for this purpose that we sell as an accessory. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: What happens when you use hot water in a Karcher electric power washer? I never knew they were (Electric-Cold Water) listed. by Bob Mills from Michigan on March 25, 2011
A: Karcher's cold water pressure washers can accept water up to 104F degrees. This is common with all cold water pressure washers. Using water hotter than 104F degrees in a cold water pressure washer will definitely damage and wear away the seals in the pump, causing the pump to fail. This is the fastest way to damage a pump that is rated for "cold water". by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Just bought the Karcher 3.74 from you guys. What is the "Pump Guard" which is recommended for storing and protecting the pump? And how do I use such? by Preben Jensen from California on March 24, 2011
A: The Karcher pump guard is a chemical that is designed to extend the life of the pump and the seals within. Pump guard or pump saver as it is also called, will lubricate the seals in the pump and also prevent any water that is left inside the pump from freezing during the colder months.
To use this product, you simply attach it to your garden hose water inlet fitting and turn the machine on for a few seconds. Once the chemical exits the outlet high pressure fitting, the pump is protected.
You should defintely run this chemical through the pump every time you are going to store your pressure washer away for extended periods of time such as over 30 days. You should also run this chemical through the pump periodically throughout the year to keep the seals moist. by Bill, Product Expert

Performed very well
I have used the pressure washer twice to clean my pool deck and it has performed very well.
It is easy to set up and use and just as easy to put back into storage. My only concern is the holder for the AC cord should be larger.

O-rings
I have had to replace the o-rings in my Karcher twice in twelve months; of course after warranty. Not pleased!
PWD RESPONDS: That sounds like you may have hard water in your area. To help make the o-rings on your unit last longer you may want to run some Pump Saver product through your pressure washer every month.
Pump Saver will lubricate the seals & help prevent hard water mineral build-up, as well as winterize your pressure washer.

No problems
I used this washer once so far for two hours on a hot day, it never overheated or stopped. I had no problems with it.
I used the turbo nozzle to clean my deck and it did a very good job. The only complaint are the wheels. While rolling it on the blacktop driveway the plastic hub caps would come loose and the wheels would stop turning. It seemed to roll better on the lawn.

My second review on this item
Not much to tell about this particular washer that I purchased, Ive already submitted my first impression of this unit. All I can add is that I am extremely pleased with the purchase.
I have used it several times since the first review and have tried it on several different things to clean. It performed flawless and did a very good job.
The last wash/cleaning job I did was to remove brake dust from the front wheels on my wife's car, the difference between the first washer I had and this one is like night and day. The old washer always had me scrubbing the brake dust off by hand after power washing it. This unit cleaned it without any manual help.....what a relief that was.
Buying it from Pressure Washers Direct is the best choice I made, ordering it was easy, shipping was extremely fast, and getting it operational quick and painless.
Thank You PWD.

Second one to own
I bought this unit to replace one I had for many years. I did a lot of research on the net to finally stumble onto Pressure Washers Direct, with all the information available on practically all models available, it took a while before deciding what I wanted to get.
Based on the information I selected the K5.68 and I could not be happier with the washer. The first time I used it I was impressed by the quiet operation. It has good power, is very easy to operate, and especially having the ability to store all components in one place.
The first one I had you had to drain the hose then coil it up, then coil up the power cord, and the hose connectors to store it. If far away from the garage you had to make several trips. This unit you just wheel it back, no lifting, its great.
Ordering this unit was painless, it got shipped out very quick, so all in all it was a very pleasant experience for me, and I highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a power washer.
