| After so many years why so much junk? |
| By Michael Long (Levittown, PA) |
This year I was planning on buying a Karcher pressure washer, but after reading so many negative reports it seems their machines are a waste of time and money.
When I read another customer's' story, I see that he has had to wait a long time for parts. Next time that customer could BUY AMERICAN!
PWD RESPONDS: Karcher is the largest manufacturer of pressure washers in the world. Their unit failure percentage rate is the same or below other national brands. They maintain a coast-to-coast warranty network, so even customers outside major metropolitan areas can be sure of service.
Delays happen when, during high demand periods, stock sells out quickly and restock supplies from Europe are delayed by high seas or import restrictions.
Unfortunately, small, inexpensive electric pressure washers do not come from America. We source American products whenever possible from companies like Pressure Pro and Cam Spray, but they are more expensive than imported models.
The key is to suit the machine to the job. Use the small, inexpensive electric models for small jobs- car washing, patio cleaning, etc. Use a gasoline unit for more intense jobs- house cleaning, long driveways, and paint prep.

| Pressure washer HORROR |
| By M Miler (Loomis, CA) |
Right out of the box as a B-Day present, this washer was real JUNK.
I hooked it up to wash the driveway... BOOM- the hose was blown off. I called Karcher and a replacement hose was sent out. I installed it and again BOOM- the hose split.
I gave up and threw it in the dumpster. I will only buy good quality, well known from now on.
PWD RESPONDS: High pressure hoses must be threaded all the way on, and care must be taken not to kink the hose or blow outs will occur with any pressure washer.
Karcher is the largest manufacturer of pressure washers in the world, and consistently receives high ratings for their products. |

| Replacement parts may be hard to find. |
| By Mark Weisgurt (Prior Lake, MN) |
I have had my unit about two years and used it maybe 6 times.
It got knocked over in the garage and the spray gun handle broke right at the slot where the locking pin goes into the handle to hold the hose.
I have been looking for a replacement for a month. I finally found a way to contact Karcher through email. They informed me that the gun I need will be back ordered for another 6 weeks and suggested I try finding one on the internet.
I only went to them when I couldn't find one not back ordered on the internet. A machine is only useful as long as it can be operational when you need it. I need mine now and I can't get the parts I need to fix it.
PWD RESPONDS: Karcher parts ship from Germany, so all the retailers have to wait for the boat to arrive once the summer rush has cleaned out their stock.
The best strategy is to place your order as early as possible, so that once stock does arrive in the States you are sure to get what you need. |
