Q: whats the difference between TEFC Electric Motor and induction motor? qichone its betteR?
by Nicolas from Florida on October 04, 2011
A: These 2 descriptions of motors are one in the same. TEFC stands for "totally enclosed fan cooled" motor and thats exactly what an induction motor is. The other type of motor would be a universal motor with what is called an "open drip proof" type. This type would be a motor that is simply air cooled but not enclosed which allows dust and debris to get into the motor housing. by Bill, Product Expert
