A: Yes, you could mount this hose reel to any flat surface. This hose reel does have a type of locking/breaking mechanism included with it to keep the hose at a steady length or fully retracted. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Just purchased a Smpson ps4240H pressure washer from you guys the thing is a beast,I like it,but its to heavy so may have to keep it the back of my truck when pressure washing,Im thinking of mounting a hose reel,do you think the MTM Hydro 200 will be alright seeing that its only rated at 4000 psi and my pressure washer is 4200psi? and were would you mount it on the pressure washer? by Mike Hill from Washington on August 14, 2011
A: Yes this hose reel would be compatible with your machine, the pump on that model is actually a 4000 psi pump. The additional psi comes from the restriction of water through the hose and gun. However, this hose reel does not come with any type of mounting hardware to attach to a pressure washer. This reel is designed to mount to a table or wall.
If you are looking for a hose reel that can be attached to the machine itself, you should look at models DHR50150D or DHR50100D by General Pump. by Bill, Product Expert

I have been using the Simpson PS4240 with the Monster 50 hoses and the MTM Hydro reel. I am pleased with all of the items I purchased.
I have chosen not to run my water and chemicals through the reel so I cannot speak to its performance in that aspect. I have a few buddies who could be classified as old pros in the business and both said that if I ran chemicals through the reel I would be buying a new one every year.
If I only use the reel to roll my hose it should last significantly longer. The reel was easy to mount to my truck bed and easily holds my 150' of hose.
