Q: I just purchased a powerboss 3800 the book shows it as being an axial cam pump and all the specs show it as a triplex plunger pump. can you enlighten me. thanks by Allan Wolf from Wisconsin on May 27, 2011
A: With that particular model, I am showing that it has an AR triplex plunger pump installed on it. However, I do not have a manual on it to look into. Your best option would be to contact PowerBoss directly and speak to their technical support department to find out exactly what type and model pump is installed on that machine. According to the video, a heavy-duty project like this requires a pressure washer with a rating of at least 2500 PSI.
Based on our experience, we recommend getting a pressure washer with at least 3000 PSI. It requires a lot of pressure to break the chemical bond between the surface and the paint.

I purchased a power boss 3800 PSI pressure washer for home use. I wanted the best product/value for the money. I was not disappointed with this purchase. I believe the Honda engine is the best engine on the market. The unit exceeded my expectations. I was able to clean my two decks 20x10 each in less than two hours with a hammerhead flat surface accessory. I will add these decks have had no attention in approx. four years and were in poor condition. I recommend this product highly.
