Q: Hey Bill,
There's a lot of people who have pressure washing businesses in my area but I haven't noticed anyone who specializes in specifically removing gum from the front of their business or residence. I've looked at the commercial ones like Dupray and Daimer but they are expesive like in the $5000 range. Are there any power washers you can recommmend that would do the same job?

A: In all honesty your best route to take when it comes to removing gum is with a hot water pressure washer. The problem with using cold water is you can do it with something high pressure, but you can either pit the pavement or still leave a residue behind from the gum. The hot water would actually melt all the residue off.

So you could do a cold water unit, but if the main job you would be looking to do would be to remove gum, then I would suggest going with a hot water unit. You would pay more, but can be below the $5,000.00 price range on a hot water unit and be able to get the job done quicker and give a better result.
