Q: I'm looking into starting a pressure washing business. Id like to start off just doing residential work, such as decks, houses, driveways, sidewalks, and boats. Should I get a Hot water pressure washer or coldwater? and whats the reasonable PSI for jobs like this?

A: You would not need a hot water pressure washer for most of the applications you listed. Especially if just starting out, I would recommend you purchase a 4000 psi gas cold water pressure washer. Most of the time, a great cold water machine along with the correct detergent will do everything a hot water machine will do. I suggest 4000 psi because this size machine will be a professional grade pressure washer that would have an adjustable pressure unloader installed on the pump and could be used on a daily basis if needed. You would be able to use this model/size pressure washer for almost every job application you can think of.
