Q: On the Simpson Megashot 3100- if i order it can i get 50 feet of hose with it?
by Peter from Connecticut on July 22, 2014

A: You can order an extension with it to make your hose 50 feet total. This will come with the necessary adapter to join the two hoses together.

25' Extension Hose

You can also purchase a separate 50 foot hose.

Q: Can I use the MTM Hydro 3.0 Turbo Tip Nozzle on the Simpson Model MSH 3125-S Washer ?
Also, where do I find a tank for the cleanser so the siphon tube can go into and does it mount to the washer ? Thanks a lot

by Pat from New Jersey on July 14, 2014

A: Yes the MTM 3.0 orifice turbo nozzle would be the correct item for you. We do not sell add on detergent tanks here. I would recommend reaching out to the folks at Simpson to see where one can be purchased. Their number is 877-362-4271
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Does the Simpson 3100 have a container to put cleaning detergent in.
by Jason from Louisiana on March 09, 2014

A: No this unit does not have a detergent tank. It comes with a downstream injection system, which is a siphon hose running off the pump. You would put the siphon hose in a detergent of your choice and it would draw chemicals when using the black tip.

Q: I bought a Simpson 3100 from Sam's that was the display model, when I got home there were no spray nozzles. I think the bag blew out of the pickup. Anyway, I need to get tips for the sprayer, a model MSV3100 p/n 60464. Are tips available separately?
by John Owens from New Mexico on August 30, 2011

A: Yes, there are definitely spray tips available for purchase. I am posting a link below to the correct size tips you would purchase for that model:

Q: I'M CONCIDERING BUYING A SIMPSON 3100 MODEL MSV3100. DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PRESSURE WASHERS.
I'M A FARMER AND I WILL USE IT AS AN ALL AROUND PURPOSE WASHER. IS THIS A GOOD PRESSURE WASHER

by LARRY GUNTER from South Carolina on March 26, 2011

A: Simpson is one of the first and largest pressure washer manufacturers in the U.S. and they make great quality pressure washers. Also, this model has a Honda engine installed on it which is one of the most reliable small engines available for pressure washers. You can definitely use this model pressure washer as an all purpose machine that would be capable of handling a variety of tasks

Q: I have moss buildup on my concrete patio which is very thick. I need a pressure washer that will clean down to the concrete in a fairly short period of time. I've used the 2600 psi versions before but they do not cut it. Any advice?
by Robert Olsen from Washington on March 26, 2011

A: I would definitely recommend using a pressure washer with at least 3000 psi. A 3000psi pressure washer is normally sufficient for cleaning concrete. Given the amount of moss build up that you have and depending on how large of an area you have to clean, you might want to purchase a pressure washer with a psi rating between 3400-4000 psi to complete the project as fast as possible.
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: I bought a 3100 psi Simpson PW @ Sam's Club. Can I get a 50 foot hose with fittings for this machine from you/Simpson?
by Bert Solomon from South Carolina on March 26, 2011

A: Yes, we carry a 5/16" 50' hose by Legacy.

I posted a link below to the hose I am referring to:

There isn't a big stretch between our "Better" and "Best" choices in this category. Both have good engines and good pumps.

However, this Simpson unit has a durable Honda GC engine, which has earned it's place at the top of the small engine heap for being quieter and easier to start than other engines in its class.

Amongst all of the consumer grade pressure washers we carry, this model has been by far the most reliable and durable pressure washer in this category.

Power Washed Down To The Bare Wood!
My deck and ramp had years of sealer and stain and looked horrible with uneven wear spots, damaged surfaces, and stains. I used my Simpson to remove it all in one step). It worked and it's down to the bare cedar wood and staying that way!

Cannot Connect Hose To Washer
I received the washer 2 days ago. I found that I could not attach the high pressure hose to the pressure washer. It is apparently missing threads. I contacted the company and they are supposed to be sending out a replacement hose. Waiting to use.

Philip,
That is very odd... I'm glad the folks at Simpson are taking good care of you. We will follow up and make sure this is just a one-time thing, and not a bad batch of hoses. Thank you for letting us know.

We appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Great Product For Several Projects
I bought the Megashot 3100 based on the reviews and am completely satisfied. After two electric pressure washers that were so-so, I decided that a gas engine was the next logical step.

I used the 3100 to clean a deck, siding on the house, brick paver sidewalk and a long driveway. It worked great in all circumstances. A minor issue - the oil filler cap is plastic and you need to be careful not to cross thread the cap when screwing it into the metal engine. Use ear and eye protection - it... more

Our Of The Box Didn't Work
Unpacked the washer, oiled the engine and hooked up the water line, the pressure line is a joke, I doubt if it would hold the 3100 pressure. The engine started right off and nothing, the pressure was hose pressure and it never improved.Called costumer service and the nearest service center was 37 miles away. Took the washer in and they told me it would more than likely be 3 weeks before it was done.

Great, wanted to use washer and now another 3 weeks. I think the company should have just... more

45 Minutes
This is the second Simpson in 2 months that's averaged 45 minutes before it broke.
First one bought at Costco and returned, started leaking oil through the water input fixture.

Upgraded to the 6598, which ran great for 45 minutes. Then the engine and pressure started pulsating, so I checked the gas.

The gas was full, so I checked the oil and found water in it. I returned it to TSC. Luckily both broke quickly and the retailers took them back.

Very Happy Consumer
Washed everything I can think of however the tube does not siphon for adding soap can someone give me advice.
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Store
Cons: Unreliable, Haa, Does Not Siphon Soap Detergent

Mike, the Pressure Washer Expert
Product Expert
John,
Pages 13 & 14 of the Owner's Manual show how to properly attach the siphon hose, and to use the black spray tip that allows the siphon action to happen. Soap is only applied at low pressure.

If you've got the siphon hose hooked up properly & you're using the black tip but soap isn't flowing, you may need to check what you're using for soap. It should be labeled pressure washer safe so it doesn't eat through the pump seals, and it should also be diluted according to the maker's instructions.

The soap solution needs to be fairly watery so the siphon hose can suck it up; if it's thick like dish detergent it won't siphon properly. Some pressure washer safe detergents can be used straight from the bottle, some need to be mixed with water before they're used.

Carlton,
I understand your disappointment and apologize for any inconvenience. As we explain in the Return Policy link at the bottom of every page of our web site, it is Federal Law that does not allow re-shipping an engine that has had gasoline in it, since it poses a fire/explosion hazard.

If you didn't get an Owner's Manual for the Honda GC190 engine, you can download one by clicking on this Honda GC190 link. It will have details about the engine controls and basic troubleshooting that you may find helpful.

If that doesn't help, any Authorized Honda Small Engine Service location can do Factory Warranty work. I checked the Honda Small Engine website, and they list Forestry Supply 236 Frank Rd Fitzgerald, GA 31750-9011 (229)423-3426 as the closest to your zip code, but you may want to check the Yellow Pages or Google for a closer location.

Pressure Washer
The only thing I dislike is I like to unscrew hose from washer but find that it's hard to do. Threads seem to get messed up from all the vibrations.
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Easy To Store, Light Weight

Product Expert
William,
If it's the garden hose that is giving you problems, getting a quick-connect kit from the hardware store will save the threads and your knuckles- they usually run about $5 for plastic and under $10 for brass. We sell Garden Hose Quick Connect Kits, but you would also pay shipping from us- it might be less expensive to get the connectors locally.

If it's the high pressure hose that is tough to connect, then an M22 Quick Connect Kit will change the threaded M22 threaded connector to a snap-in quick connector.

I got around a corner and couldn't notice the pressure hose curl and then lay over the hot muffler. Don't need to describe what happened next.
