Q: Can this or any pw work with gravity fed water? I would hook it up to a 45gallon water tank not a faucet under pressure.

Thanks

by Rick from Arizona on February 02, 2015

A: No, this unit needs to be attached to a water source with a Min of 20 PSI and 3GPM. The only units that can be gravity fed are the belt drive units.

Q: On the Simpson Megashot 3100- if i order it can i get 50 feet of hose with it?
by Peter from Connecticut on July 22, 2014

A: You can order an extension with it to make your hose 50 feet total. This will come with the necessary adapter to join the two hoses together.

25' Extension Hose

You can also purchase a separate 50 foot hose.

Q: Can I use the MTM Hydro 3.0 Turbo Tip Nozzle on the Simpson Model MSH 3125-S Washer ?
Also, where do I find a tank for the cleanser so the siphon tube can go into and does it mount to the washer ? Thanks a lot

by Pat from New Jersey on July 14, 2014

A: Yes the MTM 3.0 orifice turbo nozzle would be the correct item for you. We do not sell add on detergent tanks here. I would recommend reaching out to the folks at Simpson to see where one can be purchased. Their number is 877-362-4271
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Does the Simpson 3100 have a container to put cleaning detergent in.
by Jason from Louisiana on March 09, 2014

A: No this unit does not have a detergent tank. It comes with a downstream injection system, which is a siphon hose running off the pump. You would put the siphon hose in a detergent of your choice and it would draw chemicals when using the black tip.
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: I bought a Simpson 3100 from Sam's that was the display model, when I got home there were no spray nozzles. I think the bag blew out of the pickup. Anyway, I need to get tips for the sprayer, a model MSV3100 p/n 60464. Are tips available separately?
by John Owens from New Mexico on August 30, 2011

A: Yes, there are definitely spray tips available for purchase. I am posting a link below to the correct size tips you would purchase for that model:

Q: I'M CONCIDERING BUYING A SIMPSON 3100 MODEL MSV3100. DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PRESSURE WASHERS.
I'M A FARMER AND I WILL USE IT AS AN ALL AROUND PURPOSE WASHER. IS THIS A GOOD PRESSURE WASHER

by LARRY GUNTER from South Carolina on March 26, 2011

A: Simpson is one of the first and largest pressure washer manufacturers in the U.S. and they make great quality pressure washers. Also, this model has a Honda engine installed on it which is one of the most reliable small engines available for pressure washers. You can definitely use this model pressure washer as an all purpose machine that would be capable of handling a variety of tasks
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: I have moss buildup on my concrete patio which is very thick. I need a pressure washer that will clean down to the concrete in a fairly short period of time. I've used the 2600 psi versions before but they do not cut it. Any advice?
by Robert Olsen from Washington on March 26, 2011

A: I would definitely recommend using a pressure washer with at least 3000 psi. A 3000psi pressure washer is normally sufficient for cleaning concrete. Given the amount of moss build up that you have and depending on how large of an area you have to clean, you might want to purchase a pressure washer with a psi rating between 3400-4000 psi to complete the project as fast as possible.
by Mike, Product Expert
Q: I bought a 3100 psi Simpson PW @ Sam's Club. Can I get a 50 foot hose with fittings for this machine from you/Simpson?
by Bert Solomon from South Carolina on March 26, 2011

A: Yes, we carry a 5/16" 50' hose by Legacy.

I posted a link below to the hose I am referring to:

There isn't a big stretch between our "Better" and "Best" choices in this category. Both have good engines and good pumps.

However, this Simpson unit has a durable Honda GC engine, which has earned it's place at the top of the small engine heap for being quieter and easier to start than other engines in its class.

Amongst all of the consumer grade pressure washers we carry, this model has been by far the most reliable and durable pressure washer in this category.

Cannot Connect Hose To Washer
I received the washer 2 days ago. I found that I could not attach the high pressure hose to the pressure washer. It is apparently missing threads. I contacted the company and they are supposed to be sending out a replacement hose. Waiting to use.

Philip,
That is very odd... I'm glad the folks at Simpson are taking good care of you. We will follow up and make sure this is just a one-time thing, and not a bad batch of hoses. Thank you for letting us know.

We appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Power Washed Down To The Bare Wood!
My deck and ramp had years of sealer and stain and looked horrible with uneven wear spots, damaged surfaces, and stains. I used my Simpson to remove it all in one step). It worked and it's down to the bare cedar wood and staying that way!

"I needed a power washer strong enough to remove several layers of sealer and stain from both cedar decking and pressure treated decking. I used my Simpson to get it down to the bare wood in one step. It took some time but was well worth it."

Plenty Of Power At A Value Price
I was looking for that magic combination of durability, power and reasonable price. I did my research and I believe I found it. One of the main applications I wanted it for was the ability to clean an old concrete driveway. This has plenty of power for that. As a matter of fact, be careful because any loose material can quickly be dislodged. I blasted some loose mortar right out of my brick walkway before I got used to managing the powerful spray. It is suitable for any task a homeowner might... more

Very Good Purchase!
After completing my research the Simpson Megashot seemed the best bang for the buck for my residential usage. It arrived just outside the expected delivery date with minimal assembly ( 5 Mins ). I've used the washer 3 times since my purchase.

The Honda engine starts and purrs as you'd expect. The pressure is great compared to my old 2600 psi unit. Cleans my old Jeep with minimal effort and in a short time. A high quality unit! I am very pleased with the washer and would highly recommend... more

Terrible Shipping
Shipped direct from the factory. Came with all the parts, but leaking oil.

The oil then soaked the filter, which impeded air flow and wouldn't allow it to run or start.

I not only had to buy oil, but a new filter too and had to clean the entire unit which was dripping in oil. When it does work, it works well.

Engine is great, plenty of power. Hose is a bit stiff and gets tangled a bit.

Our Of The Box Didn't Work
Unpacked the washer, oiled the engine and hooked up the water line, the pressure line is a joke, I doubt if it would hold the 3100 pressure. The engine started right off and nothing, the pressure was hose pressure and it never improved.Called costumer service and the nearest service center was 37 miles away. Took the washer in and they told me it would more than likely be 3 weeks before it was done.

Great, wanted to use washer and now another 3 weeks. I think the company should have just... more

45 Minutes
This is the second Simpson in 2 months that's averaged 45 minutes before it broke.
First one bought at Costco and returned, started leaking oil through the water input fixture.

Upgraded to the 6598, which ran great for 45 minutes. Then the engine and pressure started pulsating, so I checked the gas.

The gas was full, so I checked the oil and found water in it. I returned it to TSC. Luckily both broke quickly and the retailers took them back.
