Don't Buy This Powerwasher
The pump is junk.

I bought the Simpson 3000psi/gas/2.4GPM from Menards. The unit had to have a new pump before I was done with the first use. It was covered by warranty but we had to take it to the shop & wait to use it.

On the 1st use, weeks later, it leaked water out the bottom everywhere! I took to a Simpson service center and they can't get anybody from Simpson to call them back. After 3 weeks it sits in the shop. I called the Simpson consumer line and they would not work with me.... more

Bad News
Bought unit and used it for about 6 hours. Something popped, then no pressure and oil running out of bottom. Simpson directed me to service center that would take 4 weeks to get to it. Then Simpson recommended service center that would do warranty work on pump only, if it is related to Honda engine then you need to take to a Honda center. There is too much hassle with this purchase. Thank goodness for the good club warehouse that took it back. Now I'm afraid to buy another Simpson.

Pump Failure
Bought this unit at a big box store and this was my second time using it. The washer was doing very well and I was thinking that it was a good purchase. However, all the sudden I had a loss of water pressure. After turning the machine off I noticed the pump hanging off. Turning the unit over thinking it could be a easy fix I noticed that the pump actually cracked. Kind of surprised that using this unit under very easy conditions that a pump would actually crack.

Steve,
A cracked pump doesn't happen very often! You may want to give the folks at Simpson a call, toll free, at 877-362-4271 to set up Factory Warranty service. Please be sure to have the serial number of your pressure washer handy when you call them.

Junk
Pump housing leaks and Simpson will not replace it unless I buy the whole pump for $170.00. They would only offer 10% off the price.

Good motor but I'll never buy anything from Simpson ever again.
Pros: Price, Easy To Use, Honda Motor
Cons: Simpson Cust Svc Sucks, Does Not Sell Replacement Parts

Rick,
The Factory Warranty on all pressure washers covers defects in materials & workmanship, but doesn't cover what the manufacturer considers wear and tear, or abuse.

Dissatisfied
Worthless. Don't waste your money! This item is trash and the customer service at Simpson is awful. I bought a MSV 3024 with a Honda engine and after 2 hours it broke, suddenly stopped running. I called Simpson for warranty and they sent me to a repair shop which a week later called me saying they couldn't fix the washer since it was a motor issue and they were not certified to work with those engines.

I called Simpson again and they sent me to another shop which after 2 weeks called me to... more

Hector,
I do apologize with the issues you are having. I am unable to locate an order for you from our company. With that being said, Simpson uses Honda engines, and Honda would be the one to cover that warranty.

I recommend dealing directly with Honda to get better service. They can be reached at (770) 497-6400. They can explain in depth if they are choosing to deny the warranty. Remember, warranties cover defect in workmanship and not use and abuse.

Used 3 Times & Pump Failed
I used my Simpson pressure washer 3 times (about 10 hours) and the pump failed. It cracked and leaked oil all over my driveway.

The unit was was one month out of warranty so the repair was not covered. At their suggestion I took it to an independent shop in the service area, they had a half dozen like mine in for repairs. The service tech said they had a lot of problems with pump failures.

Simpson customer service was polite but refused to make any concession or provide a replacement... more

Good Engine Junk Water Pump
Don't Buy This Powerwasher
Either the pump is junk or the engine is too powerful.

I bought from Menards too, I think the pump is not 3000 psi, I was looking to replaced it and the only similar pump I found is rated at 2580 psi. I took it apart and the roller bearing was completely destroyed, very cheaply built. If you buy, get extended warranty. The unit failed after warranty expired, It was used only lightly, maybe less than 10 hours, good engine, crappy water pump, don't buy it!

Handle Manufactured Incorrectly
I just purchase this Simpson 3000 pressure washer from a warehouse club.

Got it home and tried to install it but found the handle was manufactured incorrectly and would not fit on the chassis. The left side was 3/4" longer than the right so the button latch on the right would not lock. It was also out of square. I could have used it anyway but I figured, "Why should I accept a manufacturing defect?"

My thoughts were that if they can't make a simple handle correctly, what... more

Gary,
I can't speak for the warehouse club where you bought your pressure washer, but sometimes units will get mishandled during the shipping and warehousing process. That can lead to minor damage like the handle being bent.

One thing occurs to me- if the handle was bent slightly out of square, that would seem to automatically make one side longer than the other. It is possible that leaning on the handle to square it up might have solved your problem (and shipping damage is not covered under most Factory Warranties).

Hopefully you will have many productive hours pressure washing with your new unit.

Gas Leaks From Carb
I had the same result reported by Oliver in June 2012 post. After assembly, upon turning gas control switch to begin flow, gas started draining from the carb. The only way to stop it was to switch back to close position.

Simpson was helpful and gave name of local warranty servicer -- or return to big box store (which is what I did). Very disappointing since unit was so easy to assemble and instructions were very clear.
Pros: Price
Cons: Low Quality, Leaks Gas

Laurence,
A quick thing to check is to look under the carb where the fuel hose connects. There is a small wire spring clip that holds the hose in place that can shake loose during shipment.

Sometimes all it takes is to secure the fuel hose with the clip.

Two Strikes And It's Out
We purchased this unit at a warehouse store for use at a public school. Used the unit every week.

Ran great however after 9 months the bolts attaching the water pump sheared off for no apparent reason. We took it to have it serviced and were told it would have to have the water pump replaced because the bolts could not be removed without a great effort.

We decided to return the unit to the warehouse store who took it back with no problem. We then got a brand new unit - same model,... more
