Q: Hi Bill, I have a taskmaster 1850. The GFCI tripped and now the motor wont start. What can I do? HELP!!!!!! Thanks, Susan by Susan.ebersole@yahoo.com from Indiana on May 07, 2011
A: If the GFCI tripped, you would have to reset it by pushing in the reset button. Without doing this, the motor will not come on. If you have tried that already, check your breaker and make sure it did not tripp as well. If it still does not come on by doing this, then there may be something wrong with the motor and then you would have to contact Taskmaster.
Junk. Used it three times, burnt the motor up on the fourth. buy something better. this is a waste of money and time.
PWD RESPONDS: Taskmaster pressure washers are made by the folks at Powerwasher, and come with a 1 year Factory Warranty. You can contact them at http://power-washer.us, and use their Live Chat feature to set up your warranty claim.
We checked our files and didn't see where you bought the unit from us, so you will need a copy of your receipt and the serial number of the unit when you go online with them.
With small electric pressure washers, the usual route is replacement rather than repair since it's more cost effective.
To get the best life out of your replacement unit, please let it cool off regularly, don't walk away from it and leave it running, break large tasks into smaller stages, and never, ever let it run dry.
For more information, please read our Buyer's Guide for Consumer Electric Pressure Washers.

Have had several washers and this one works great. Use it weekly all summer long.
Going on third year with no problems. The ones complaining about leaking is probably due to freezing in winter and or rubber seals not seated when put together.
As far as not spraying properly make sure all air is out of system. Leave unit off and pull trigger to let water run through before starting motor.
It has great pressure. We use to clean decks, houses, tractors, RVs etc., etc. and have had no problems.

Trouble using cleaner
We have cleaner in the dispenser but can't seem to get it to work. We have lost our manual and just need to know how to get it to work. Other than that we are happy with the product.
PWD RESPONDS: Just go to the TM1800 page on our web site and click on the Owner's Manual button to download the PDF version.

Never worked at all
I could never get the compressor to kick on. I hooked it up at 3 different houses, including one with very high water pressure.
I suspect it is sucking air as it occasionally sputters, but all connections are tight. I can not remember where I bought it so, I can't return it.
Lesson learned, always use something the same day you buy it. Just in case it doesn't work.
I had the thing for a month before I tried it, and then spent a couple weekends trying to get it to work.
Assumed the warranty was worthless anyway, so I threw that and the receipt away when I unpacked it.
Too light for a boat anchor, so I don't know what to do with it.

A Piece of Junk
If I could rate this power washer worse than bad, I would. The first time my husband used it, the motor started to smoke and then the washer just died.
Since we registered the power washer and was told it had a one year factory warranty, we tried to get assistance by going to the instructed website powerwasher.us. However, every time I go to that website, there is never anyone to chat with. They are always offline for the moment.
I have sent several emails and always receive the automatic response that there will be someone contacting me in one or two business days. Every time, they send me a different ticket code to help me track my inquiry. But every time I try to track my inquiry, I am sent another routine email giving me a new ticket code to track my inquiry!
PWD RESPONDS: We checked our files, and didn't see where you purchased the Taskmaster from us, but we sent your review to our sales rep at Powerwasher anyway to see if they can give you a hand.
The parent company for Powerwasher and Taskmaster is Faip; they are available at faippowerwasher.com with Live Chat M-F from 8-6, and Saturday from 8-4 Central time.
They also have a toll free Tech Support number you could try: (800) 381-0999.

Terrible trigger assembly
Worked OK last year. This year it leaks water all over from the hand nozzle just like everyone else's!
Cant find parts.
PWD RESPONDS: The Taskmaster is made by the folks at Powerwasher, so their replacement parts will fit.
We carry the Powerwasher 81K053SH Replacement Gun and Hose; it would work fine as long as your lance and nozzle are still in good shape. You'll find it under the Accessories tab, in the Electric Spray Guns- Other category.
Care must be taken to drain all the water out of all the pressure washer parts at the end of the season, and store the unit where it won't freeze. Water expands as it freezes and can break open seals and joints.

Two strikes
I bought a Taskmaster 1550 PSI last year. The second time I went to use it water shot out of everyplace except the nozzle.
I bought a Taskmaster 1800 PSI yesterday; returning it today. I get more pressure from my garden hose.
In this case, two strikes and they're out.
PWD RESPONDS: Taskmaster pressure washers have a 1 year Factory Warranty; so your first unit may still be covered.
They are made by the folks at Powerwasher; you can contact them directly through their web site at www.power-washer.us and Live Chat with their Customer Service.

Taskmaster TM1800
This unit is made by the same folks who make Powerwasher pressure washers, as well as several other of the Big Box store brands- Faip.
With a Faip pump and an induction motor this is great for around-the-house chores. It comes with a flexible undercarriage lance that is very handy not only for under cars, but gutters, odd angles in the eaves, and hard to reach corners on your patio.
It will also accept all of the nifty Powerwasher accessories. If gadgets make you happy, this is the unit for you.
