Shop by PSI?
PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) is one of the most common ways to rate power washers. PSI helps in breaking the chemical bond between the cleaning surface and the stain. The higher the PSI rating; the more powerful the pressure washer.
How much water pressure you'll need depends on what you are trying to accomplish. For example, a typical garden hose, which emits 40 PSI of water pressure, can wash away winter dirt and dust, but it doesn't pack enough power to actually clean anything.
Electric Power Washers
Electric power washers (1400-1700 PSI) are 35 times more powerful than and just as versatile as a garden hose. They are great for cleaning smaller surfaces like cars, boats, patio furniture and grills.
Gas Pressure Washers
Gas pressure washers (1700-4000 PSI) are much stronger and more durable than electric power washers. They are better suited for cleaning larger areas and surfaces with very stubborn stains.
