CHICAGO, IL (March 07, 2006) - Finding a selection of pressure washers is easy. But with so many types of pressure washers on the market, it can be difficult selecting the best value.
PressureWashersDirect.com, an online pressure washer superstore carrying more than 60 different models, is helping homeowners pick the perfect pressure washer by publishing its annual list of top-selling pressure washers.
"Once we loaded all of the models into our extensive database, customers could easily determine which models were the best value based on price and features," said Jon Hoch, founder of PressureWashersDirect.com.
The Romeoville, IL-based e-tailer announced the best-selling pressure washers in four categories, ranging from small electric power washers to large contractor-grade pressure washers.
Best-Selling Small:
Campbell Hausfeld PW1686
 Some electric power washers have the reputation of being cheap, high pressure “water picks”. Not Campbell Hausfeld’s PW1686. With a durable induction motor, the PW1686 may cost a little more than something you'll find at your local discount store, says Hoch, but the quality justifies the expense.
In addition, the Campbell Hausfeld pressure washer sports several popular add-ons, including a built-in detergent tank, adjustable pressure nozzle and bonus turbo nozzle.
According to Hoch, the Campbell Hausfeld PW1686 is very effective at cleaning small surface areas, such as cars, grills, and patio furniture.
Best-Selling Medium:
Karcher G2400HH
 The overall best selling pressure washer in 2005 was ... drum roll, please ... Karcher's G2400HH. This marks the third consecutive year Karcher's 2400 PSI pressure washer topped the charts.
According to Hoch, who personally uses this model at his home, the Karcher 2400 PSI pressure washer is perfect for light-duty and heavy-duty residential use. Its 5-horsepower Honda engine has plenty of power to tackle the toughest household chores. Plus, it comes with a DirtBlaster® rotating nozzle, which significantly speeds up cleaning time.
Don’t expect this model to repeat as a best seller next year. Karcher is replacing the model with a new 2500 PSI version. The specifications remain about the same, but it doesn’t include the extra accessories such as a turbo nozzle or longer high pressure hose.
PressureWashersDirect.com currently has less than 100 pieces of this best seller in-stock. According to Hoch, once they’re gone; they’re gone forever.
Best-Selling Large:
Reconditioned Karcher G2650HHR
 Some of the best bargains aren't found in stores. In fact, they are often returned to stores.
Take the case of Karcher's reconditioned 2650 PSI pressure washer. This pressure washer is often purchased by the weekend warrior, who uses it for the weekend before returning it for a full refund.
This barely used pressure washer is sent back to Karcher, who inspects, cleans and, if necessary, fixes any problems. Since it is no longer "technically" new, it is resold as reconditioned or remanufactured.
The reconditioned G2650HHR is very similar to the best-selling Karcher 2400 PSI pressure washer, but it has a 6-HP Honda engine instead of a 5-HP Honda engine.
“While the extra horse power gets you an extra 250 PSI, the biggest difference is the price,” says Hoch. “You can actually buy the reconditioned 2650 for fifty bucks less than the brand new 2400.”
Best-Selling X-Large:
Karcher HD3600DH
 The Karcher HD3600DH can handle the pressure. With a professional-grade, 13-horsepower Honda engine, the Karcher HD3600DH packs enough pressure to strip paint at an alarming rate.
This model is extremely powerful, but it’s not just the high pressure that makes it a best seller. It comes packed with accessories, including a 50-foot industrial-grade hose, a 100-foot hose reel and a turbo nozzle.
“This pressure washer is very popular with entry-level pressure washing contractors or homeowners with extremely large surface areas,” said Hoch. |
