Q: Bill, What is the difference between the Karcher T100 and T200 deck cleaners which would you recommend for the Karcher x series 1800 by Bruce on January 25, 2012
A: Both surface cleaners would actually work with any of the Karcher electric pressure washers. The difference between the T100 and the T200 is that the T100 has a deeper housing and does not include a handle for wall cleaning. The T200 is a slimmer, lighterweight design with a handle on the housing for wall cleaning. The T200 can also be used on floors too. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Does the K3.740 or other model have a pressure control dial? I like to set the water pressure to low as 600 PSI , medium or high? by Anonymous on October 18, 2011
A: No, this model does NOT have an adjustable pressure regulator. None of the residential grade pressure washer models will have this feature or capability. Only the prosumer and professional grade pressure washers will have an adjustable pressure unloader valve.
If you look under the specs tab for each product, it will tell you whether or not the specific model has the adjustable pressure feature. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Where can I get a copy of the Karcher Model K2093 Manual ? by Terri from Oklahoma on August 12, 2011
A: I am posting a link below to where you can download a copy of the owner's manual for all Karcher models.
Q: Bill could you tell me if this a good washer and will it last longer than one season?anything else about this washer will be helpful.will i need anything else for this washer if i purchase one? Thank you by Randy Bennett from New York on July 27, 2011
A: Yes, this is a very good quality electric pressure washer. This machine is one of Karcher's top of line electric models. You would definitely get longer than 1 season out of this machine, however only if you take good care of it.
I would absolutely recommend that you purchase a pump saver product to protect the pump and get the full life out of this unit. I am posting a link below to the pump saver product I am referring to:
Q: Received the X series and I will write a review once I get to use it some more. In the meantime I know that these pressure washers are self priming and can suck water from a standing source. I have a 50 gallon detail tank and I was wondering if I should buy a pump for the detail tank as well. Would adding a second pump decrease the wear on the Karcher pump, or do you think it will not be necessary? If I do add a pump it will be in the 40 psi range, similar to a garden hose. by Rolando from California on June 23, 2011
A: Depending on how far away you would be from the tank you may want to get the pump for the tank. Having the pump in line would not be a bad thing so you would make sure you were getting a constant water flow, but if you were close to the tank, you could do both. These do have self priming pumps, but from experience, I would not want to be more than 5' away from the source.

Q: I am looking for a versatile power washer that I could use for Sliding (2-Story house), driveways & cars. the Karcher 1800 PSI X series looks like a good buy, but I wanted to see if this was adequate for multitasking? by Jimmy from New York on June 20, 2011
A: This would be fine for what you are looking to do. It may take you a little longer to do something like the driveway, but would still do the job depending on how heavy some stains were. Keep in mind that you would most likely need an extension of some sort as well unless you don't have a problem with the being on a ladder. There are some other machines out there that are nice as well, but having the water cooled motor is a definite plus when it comes to these types of pressure washers.

Q: I am looking for a versatile power washer to do a few around the house tasks. Which include foaming / cleaning cars to vinyl sliding (2 story) and driveways. I like the Katcher series because of the many accessories available. Would the 1800 PSI X Series be a good choice? by Jimmy from New York on June 18, 2011
A: This pressure washer would be more than fine for what you are looking to do. The only reason to go with something bigger would be to get the job done faster.

Q: Will I be able to add a pressure washing hose reel to a Karcher 1800 PSI X series? I noticed this version has quick connects so I dont know if they are the standard quick connects found in the stores or a Karcher ONLY quick connect. Thank you. by Roland from California on June 15, 2011
A: You would not be able to add a hose reel on this unit. You would have to get a unit with the hose reel already on the unit. These are not going to be standard quick connects. These are Karcher branded quick connects. Why they call them quick connects is beyond me, but that is how the brand them.

Q: Is the Karcher X Series 1800 PSI (Electric-Cold Water) Pressure Washer too much for washing cars? by Daniel from Ohio on June 11, 2011
A: No, this would not be too much for washing cars. This would be perfectly fine and is more ideal than some other models.

Q: I've shied away from electric pw's because in my case I'd need to use long extension cords due to absence of exterior power. I've heard the use of long extensions cords is a very bad thing with these units, often causing failure damage. Are any of your top three better to consider in that regard? by Duke Reiber from North Carolina on April 22, 2011
A: I would not recommend using an extension cord longer than 50' with any electric pressure washer, you could absolutely cause damage to the motor. Also, if an extension cord must be used, I would recommend you make sure that you are using a 12 gauge outdoor rated cord. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Comparing the different Karcher models, I still have the same 2 basic questions.1) Does motor shut off with the trigger wand? and 2) where the water hose connects is it metal or plastic and is a kit needed to covert it to metal? by Judy Averhart from Mississippi on March 27, 2011
A: Yes all Karcher electric models have the total stop feature when you release the trigger gun. Some of the Karcher models have brass water inlet fittings and some models have plastic. This specific model has plastic garden hose fittings and comes with a plastic quick connect attachment to prevent the user from cross threading the threads. To convert the fittings to plastic, you would have to purchase a brass garden hose quick connect kit.
I posted the product below that I am referring to:
Q: Do you have any self priming pressure washers for sale (gas or electric) ? I have wood deck on my 1/2 acre pond to clean & would like to be able to use the pond water. Thankyou. by John from Ohio on March 25, 2011
A: Yes, all Karcher branded pressure washers both the gas and electric versions have self priming pumps that can pull water from a standing source such as a tank or pond. We also sell Kranzle and DirtKiller brand pressure washers which too have self priming pumps. Kranzle and DirtKiller only offer professional grade pressure washers while Karcher offers residential and prosumer grade models.
I would definitely recommend that you use a filter on the end of the hose that is placed in the pond to prevent debris from entering the pump. Karcher makes a hose with filter for this purpose that we sell as an accessory. by Bill, Product Expert
Q: What happens when you use hot water in a Karcher electric power washer? I never knew they were (Electric-Cold Water) listed. by Bob Mills from Michigan on March 25, 2011
A: Karcher's cold water pressure washers can accept water up to 104F degrees. This is common with all cold water pressure washers. Using water hotter than 104F degrees in a cold water pressure washer will definitely damage and wear away the seals in the pump, causing the pump to fail. This is the fastest way to damage a pump that is rated for "cold water". by Bill, Product Expert
Q: Just bought the Karcher 3.74 from you guys. What is the "Pump Guard" which is recommended for storing and protecting the pump? And how do I use such? by Preben Jensen from California on March 24, 2011
A: The Karcher pump guard is a chemical that is designed to extend the life of the pump and the seals within. Pump guard or pump saver as it is also called, will lubricate the seals in the pump and also prevent any water that is left inside the pump from freezing during the colder months.
To use this product, you simply attach it to your garden hose water inlet fitting and turn the machine on for a few seconds. Once the chemical exits the outlet high pressure fitting, the pump is protected.
You should defintely run this chemical through the pump every time you are going to store your pressure washer away for extended periods of time such as over 30 days. You should also run this chemical through the pump periodically throughout the year to keep the seals moist. by Bill, Product Expert

Bill's Recommendation
This model debuts in our "Better" slot because of the extensive engineering improvements that make up Karcher's new X Series.
Electric pressure washers generate a lot of heat in a small space, so Karcher has designed a water-cooled induction motor and paired it with a vibration dampening system to help extend the unit's life.
They've also developed a new N-Cor swash plate transfer system pump that, since it resists corrosion, will last longer than previous pumps.
If you're looking for good value for your dollar, this new series is a serious contender.

A good step forward for Karcher
I have owned the cheaper Karcher models and they worked great but they did not last by any means. Before giving up the Karcher brand I decided to give this one a try and so far I love it!
One thing I like about Karcher is that they have self priming pumps. I detail cars part-time to pay for college and I needed a pressure washer that sucked the water out of my 50 gallon tank without buying an additional pump.
So far this thing has been great. The machine is very quiet when compared to the universal motors; this machine has an induction motor so it should last a very long time. The other positive thing I noticed is that there is hardly any heat coming out of this thing once I am done working. The water cooled motor was a very good move as well.
The build quality is top notch; the only problem I have and as someone else has noted is the telescoping handle. It would be good if this was a fixed handle instead of an adjustable handle. The reason being is that I have to take my pressure washer up stairs and I am afraid that the handle will accidentally come off as the unit is almost 30 pounds.
Another Con that I am used to since I have owned Karcher is that the connections are made out of a hard plastic. Just be sure you don’t yank the hoses around. This does not affect my rating for the machine.
I am glad that Karcher has attempted to address all of their previous problems and I am hoping this is the last Karcher I buy for a really long time.

This is the second Karcher pressure washer Ive owned, needless to say, I must be satisfied.
I've used others but they didn't hold up, or the pressure spray was inadequate.
The first one I owned was a low end model that I purchased from Costco, it lasted me 5 years.
I use it for residential purpose, lawn furniture, pool equipment, house siding and washing down the drive way black top. I even use it to pressure wash the condenser coils on my air conditioning, works great.
At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like the bayonet mount connections on the pressure hose.
I'm used to the screw type connections from before and the ones I use at work.
Well just one click and it was connected then another click, it was disconnected.
It was that easy, no more water pump pliers, or scraped up knuckles.
I do use a brass quick connect for my water supply, it makes setting up a lot quicker.
This way I can always store the hose with the pressure washer.
I live in the North East, so I always store my sensitive equipment in a heated garage.
So there is never a need to winterize it before storing it away.
All in All I'm very satisfied with the washer, and the way I purchased it on line.
And would recommend it to a friend or coworker, and shop this way again.

Karcher X Series 1800 PSI (Electric-Cold Water) Pressure Washer Review
The machine does what it is supposed to do. But there are two design flaws worth noting, both of which could easily be remedied by designers.
1. The hose connecting the washer to the wand should be made of rubber, not some cheap plastic substitute. Because of the cheaper material used here, the hose is less flexible than it should be, and prone to knotting.
2. The only carrying handle on the machine is retractable and suitable only for pulling the machine around on its wheels. But sometimes one wishes to pick up the machine and carry it there should be a more durable, non-retractable handle somewhere on the machine for this purpose.

Well thought out design
Shipping was amazingly fast and the price was right.
The washer is strong enough to do a good job on my decking, outdoor furniture, and barbecue grill.
The built in storage for the hose and electrical power cord and the rolling caddy make sense. For the average job around the house/yard, its a good choice.
I already have 5 gas powered mowers, blowers, throwers, etc., and not having to deal with another one is just fine with me. Ive used the unit 3 times in the last month and am very satisfied with it. Assembly instructions could have been better.

Great Power washer for removing Moss
For the past couple of years Ive used my neighbor's Karcher washer and thought I'd finally get my own.
My first project was to remove some moss from our sidewalks. It worked great. I used both sprayers to see which would work best, and in our case the Dirtblaster attachment did the job the best and the quickest.
I did about 50 feet of walkway in less than an hour and it looks great.
