Telescoping Wand Buyer's Guide

How To Pick The Perfect Telescoping Wand

If you've ever wondered how to get the grime off the top corners of your home's siding, look no further.

Don't be the person who tries standing on the roof of their vehicle or an unstable object while attempting to use your pressure washer. It's dangerous, and there's a proper tool for that.

What is a Telescoping Wand?

A Telescoping Wand is an extender that enables you to keep your feet safely on the ground while allowing you to reach 1, 2, or even 3 stories high.

Most wands are made of fiberglass and are lightweight and inexpensive.
These are meant to be used with cold water. Aluminum telescoping wands are heavier, but that makes them more durable for professional use. Professional-grade wands can even be used with commercial hot water pressure washers.

How Does a Telescoping Wand Work?

Telescoping wands have a high-pressure hose that is guided up the inside of the pole and connects at the tip. This lets you set the length from fully-retracted to fully-extended, and anywhere in between.

Telescoping wands will flex when the pressure is turned on, and again when it's turned off, so you must be at least 10 feet away from power lines at all times. Because of this pressure, using a telescoping extender attachment requires a 3/8" hose to connect to your pressure washer.

What Are the Benefits of a Telescoping Wand?

  1. Safety: remain safely on the ground while cleaning
  2. Clean second story surfaces (windows, siding, roof, etc.)
  3. Clean out the gutters using a hook attachment
  4. No need to use a ladder or have to move it around
  5. Ability to use quick-connect tips

Holding a pole up in the air can be tiring. A telescoping wand belt will support some of the weight and add stability, letting you work longer and more effectively.

You can snap any quick connect nozzle onto the angled end. Check out the reviews for handy tips on individual projects like washing siding and gutter cleaning.
