I installed a new AR RMV25G30D pump on my 6-year old Troy-Bilt power washer with a Honda GC160 motor. The clearance of the hose connections to the power washer frame is tight but workable. I note that the pump flange would allow me to rotate the pump counterclockwise on the engine shaft by about 40 degrees (or 90 degrees) which would eliminate the hose connection clearance difficulty entirely. My question, is it okay to mount the pump with its body horizontal but rotated with the valve heads not being horizontal?

Please contact the AR folks directly at 866-235-5112 to find out if changing the installation will affect the performance of their pump.

No, your pressure washer has a GX270 engine that has a 1" engine shaft. I have included a link to the pump I recommend for your engine.

I'm sorry, we don't sell DEK units, and there isn't a cross-reference where I could look it up for you.

You may want to give the folks at AR a call, toll free, at 866-235-5112. They should be able to advise you if this pump will fit.

Answer
In order to make sure it is compatible with you machine you need to be sure of a few things.
1. Engine shaft diameter size
2. What is the HP or CC of your motor
3. The number of bolt holes your pump has
4. Whether your pump is horizontally or vertically mounted
After knowing those things we can better assist you in which replacement pump is right for you.

Bill, I have a Pressure washer the has an AR-RMV2.5G27D pump on it. It works great and I was wondering if there would be anything wrong with running water from a basic hater heater, approx. 160 degree, through it. What could happen to it? Thanks, Jim

Answer
No, you could not run that hot of water thru your pump. You would literally end up melting the seals after 1 or 2 uses. Using hot water thru a "cold water" pump is the quickest way to damage a pump and cause it to stop creating pressure. Pumps like the one you have can only accept water up to 104 F degrees

I need to replace a Devilbiss PK16331 Pump. It is on a Honda 5 HP motor. The original Presure Washer Mopdel # is WGCH2225 Will the RMV25G30D replace this Pump? thanks in advnace.

Answer
As long as your Honda engine has a 3/4" shaft on it, then yes this pump will mount up perfectly. Also, this is a horizontal mounted pump and cannot be mounted vertically. Given the HP size of your existing engine, you might want to consider purchasing a model SJV25G27D-F7. You will more than likely not be able to push the full 3000 psi with the size of your engine which could cause strain on the pump and shorten its lifespan.

Hi Bill, I have a Karcher G2000MK 2000PSI 2.0GPM 87cc gas powered pressure washer.Would this pump AR 3000PSI 2.5GPM 3/4 hollow shaft replacewment pump model # RMV 25G30D be a suitable replacement for the one on my machine?

Answer
As long as you have a 3/4" shafted engine then yes it would mount up just fine. However, the engine size you have is definitely not powerful enough to provide the full 3000 psi. If your engine has a 3/4" shaft, you would be better off purchasing a model SJV25G27D-F7 replacement pump given the size of your engine.

where do you add the oil in a preasure washer pump
Richard Forrester
from Alabama
April 04, 2011
Answer
Certain style pumps cannot have the oil changed or added. These are sealed pumps and will normally be labeled as "Axial Cam" style pumps. "Triplex Plunger" style pumps can have oil added and/or changed. If you have this type of pump, there will be a fill port on top of the pump that unscrews. You will also have a threaded plug on the bottom of the pump so that you can drain the old used oil.

which turbo tip would you recommend for this pump after attached to a honda engine?
Greg
from Florida
April 03, 2011
Answer
You would want to use a 3.0 size orifice when purchasing a turbo nozzle or spray tip for use with this pump. The exact turbo nozzle needed for this pump would be model # AL-TPR25-30A

I have an RMV2.5 3k psi pump on a Robin/Subara 6 hp engine (Ridge Brand Washer). It does not pump water out of the nozzel under pressure. What might I look for. I have check the hoses. It is about 1 year old

Answer
Your problem would either be coming from the unloader valve sticking or the seals within the pump are blown. The only way to truly find out what the problem is, is for you to take the machine to a service center that repairs pressure washers and have them test it. Regardless, the seals on this pump cannot be replaced and the unloader valve would probably cost 1/2 the amount to replace as it would to purchase an entirely new pump.

I need a new 2500-3000 psi pump to replace my existing. I have a 5 hp honda engine and need to know what details you need to size the correct replacement pump.
Dave Moeller

Answer
This particular pump will definitely mount up to a Honda engine flange with no problem. One thing you have to confirm on your end is the engine shaft size. This pump has a 3/4" shaft and would only fit engines with a 3/4" shaft too. More than likely your engine does have a 3/4" shaft but there are also 7/8" and 1" shafts on engines made so it is always best to verify before you make the purchase.

Also, this is a horizontal mounted pump and cannot be used in vertical applications.
