Q: Please recommend a good telescoping wand and gutter attachment for the 6602. I'm not finding definitive info on fitting compatability. 3/8 or 1/4. Need 18-20 ft wand. Thanks

by Andre Godefroy from Washington on June 26, 2016

A: The BE 18-Foot Fiberglass Telescoping Wand would be a good choice since it comes with an M22 adapter that will let it connect to the 6602 hose.

The telescoping wand has a 1/4" quick connect tip, and will work well with BE's Quick Connect Gutter Cleaner.

Please be aware that any telescoping wand will flex when water pressure is applied- they take good footing and a strong back to use comfortably. I'd also suggest using BE's Wand Support Belt to help control the telescoping wand.

Q: I am looking into the 6602. I plan to use for general cleaning and am looking into getting the jetter hose attachment to clean my drainage tile(live in country dont want to pay $100 to clean anymore leaves) will this work fine for me.
by Harvey Hooten from Indiana on June 03, 2015

A: Yes this would be a good choice for you.

Also, I would recommend a Jetter conversion kit for your Jetting needs. I would recommend model 43.5002. I have attached a link for you to view that item.

Q: mike,

does the generac one wash 3100 have idle down?? I had a kohler pressure washer before and when you apply the trigger the rpms would ramp up. Is this idle down??? Also is a triplex pump worth the price if you use your pressure washer once a week for couple of hours..

by Patrick from Indiana on May 17, 2015

A: The unit comes with a throttle control. I've included the owners manual. The unit is in the consumer category and a few hours or less is week is recommended. If your looking for more hours the 6590 would be your next step up.

Q: Does this unit idle down when not washing?
Is the reason it only has three nozzle tips is because it also has adjustable pressure?
First time buyer trying to decide.
Thanks

by Tim Blaney from Arizona on May 16, 2015

A: The unit comes with throttle control to help the first time user set washing adjustments so there is less nozzles. If you want to move up to it's sister the 6598 let's you set the pressure with all the nozzles.

Q: Hi Mike, thanks for reading my question.
I am in a dilemma.
I am interested in purchasing this Generac pressure washer 6602 One Wash (3100 PSI) This has pressure control.
I also like the Karcher G 2800 FH, 2600 XH Karcher, Generac 6595-0, Generac 6598
I chose these for their performance and similar cost.
I'll use it is to clean concrete floors, walls coated (no damage) to clean mold. Once a day for 1 hour and a half.

Lately I've read bad cometary of Karcher machines. My neighbor told me that the pressure whasher buy Karcher G 2600 VH and tube many problems with it.
I have read very good reviews of Generac brand.
Interested durability. I take great care of my equipment and I have lasted many years, and now want a wahser pressure also durable.

Which of you two pressure washer do you recommend?
Thanks for your time.

by Jaime Campo from Texas on October 27, 2014

A: None of these units would be able to handle daily usage. They are consumer items and would not handle what you are doing. I would recommend going with the Generac 6590. This unit has a triplex plunger pump on it, and can handle your usage. I have attached a link for you to view that item.

Q: Hello Mike,
I was in doubt between Generac 6602 and 6598 and ended up ordering 6602 (even you thought 6598 was a better choice) because one of my planned uses for the machine is car washing and I like the fact that you can regulate the pressure to avoid damaging the car. My other uses will be concrete cleaning (garage floor, walkway) and vinyl siding cleaning. Please tell me what additional attachments you would recommend for these tasks. Thanks

by Marc from New York on June 20, 2014

A: For concrete cleaning I like either a Turbo Nozzle or Surface Cleaner. These will aid in your cleaning as well as significantly decrease the times it takes to compete your task. For cleaning cars I love the Foamer Attachment. It will spray out detergent as thick as shaving cream!

Q: hi, looking at buying one what is better one generac 3100 model 6602 or the one 3100 dual tank cleaner

steve same price

by Steve from North Dakota on June 05, 2014

A: The One Wash 6602 is a great choice for households where several people will be using the unit for many different tasks- the controls are simple, and the adjustable pressure is very handy.

The 6598 is great for work around the house- the pressure isn't adjustable, so you'd need to use a wide spray nozzle to keep from blowing the lawn furniture across the yard instead of just turning down the pressure.

The dual detergent tanks of the 6598 are handy if you do a lot of car wash & wax, or house wash & pavement cleaning- you won't have to run back and forth to switch buckets. Just make sure you rinse them after every use so they don't clog up.

The 'better one' is the one that best suits your situation!

Hands Down Best I Have Ever Used For A Residential Power Washer
This thing is AWESOME! I use it with a spiral twisting tip and this thing take oil stains off the driveway, will actually splinter wood, I use mine at work to clean the streets after a certain area always floods and leaves 1-4" of hard mud and debris, starts on first pull every time, these other bad reviews I don't see it, I'm guessing OPERATOR ERROR! if you use right oil and right amt and prime the pump with water like your supposed to do they work great!

Frustration In A Box
I just unboxed our brand new One Wash and set it up following the instructions to the letter. I went to start it and the pull start will not pull. I received a call back from Generac and they suggested I pull the spark plug to see if that helps by relieving engine compression and if not to bring it to a service center. The call was then cut off. I'll go and purchase a spark plug wrench and try this although the I doubt this will help.

I suspect the problem is in the pull start mechanism.... more
Cons: Doesn't work out of the box.

Eric,
I am sorry you are having problems starting your pressure washer! I watched your video, and I checked the notes on your file. The video does make it seem like the recoil pack is jammed.

The first thing we usually have folks try when you can't pull-start the engine is to squeeze the trigger gun and let water run through the unit before trying to start it. This pushes all the air out of the pump, preventing what's called "vapor lock".

Since the engine and pump are connected directly, if there's air jammed in the pump it won't allow the engine to turn over, making the rope harder (or impossible) to pull. You may want to try that before lugging the unit anywhere.

I agree with you- a brand new unit should start right out of the box. The large majority of them do, but when they don't that's where the Factory Warranty takes over. Since Federal regulations don't allow re-shipping an engine that's been gassed & oiled (it's a fire/explosion hazard) we only sell brands with national service networks so there will be someone nearby who can get your pressure washer running properly under the Factory Warranty.

I also agree that the parts for your pressure washer should be in a bag so pieces don't go missing. Please be assured that we will take your comments to our Generac rep so they can improve their packaging.

We appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Eric,
We are sorry to learn of the startup issues you are currently experiencing. After watching your video, it seems like your unit may be affected by vapor lock. When air has built up in the pump, it can be difficult to get the engine to turn over. One simple remedy for vapor lock is to squeeze the spray gun's trigger; doing so will allow water to run through the unit and purge the pump of any remaining air.

If issues persist after performing this troubleshooting task, we would recommend contacting an independent authorized service provider in your local area. These trained professionals have been factory trained to diagnose the cause of your unit's issues and provide any applicable warranty coverage. We do apologize for any inconvenience your initial experience may have caused.

Like It. Works Well, Very Powerful, But It Is Difficult To Pull
Product was shipped quickly, and was easy to put together. Only con is that it is difficult to start. Too bad the gas engine is not a Honda.

Works great and has been very reliable. I've used it 3-4 times. 2-3 hours at a time.
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Store
Cons: Difficult to Start

James,
You may find it easier to start the unit by squeezing the trigger gun and letting water run through the unit for a minute or two every time before you start the engine. This drives all the air out of the pump and allows the engine to turn over easier since they are connected.

Inspect It Well Before Starting!
Once I got it going...
Choke line was too tight and wouldn't budge. Thought it was screwed in or pinned somehow. Then I broke the pull knob pulling on it. After using pliers and a hammer it loosened up and I could start the unit, but is still too tight to move freely. (keep the hammer close by to close the choke after starting).

It keeps going: Started it up first time and it wouldn't shut off after test run. Great! Just topped off tank, so full tank and no way to shut it off. Was... more

Sal,
I'm sorry you had problems with your pressure washer. Generac is aware of the assembly issue, and would have repaired your unit at no charge at a Factory Warranty location in your area.

Your pressure washer has a 2 year Factory Warranty that covers defects in materials & workmanship. You can call Generac at 888-436-3722 or use their Service Locator for Factory Warranty locations around your zip code. Please be sure to select Power Washer Sales & Service to be directed to the correct place.

The soap dispenser will only work when the black tip is in use. It works by siphon action so you may have to lift the soap container a bit to get the siphon started. Once the siphon is established it should pull from ground level.

We appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Awesome Pressure Washer
I just purchased my pressure washer this spring and it does an amazing job!

I have a three story house and it's hard to reach the top story from the ground. I added the extension rod and it works amazingly. I tried the two tips for the second story and they didn't work that well. So I went to my extension rod and one of the tips that has the smallest hole to get the most pressure and it cleaned the mold off from my siding very well.

I am very happy with my pressure washer and the tools... more

Machine And Quality Control Stinks
This machine would not even start when we got it. I have had it at a repair vendor for 4 weeks or so. I almost broke my back trying to start it. It would never start but smoked a lot. Your [Generac] tech person worked on the machine to no avail. We are waiting on a new motor to be sent form the factory. I spent hours taking this thing for repairs as the tech lives a long way from me. This company [Generac] would not even pay to have the machine picked up.This machine stinks. Buy local.... more

Enjoying The Generac Pressure Washer
I'm enjoying the Generac pressure washer. It starts up easily and after about 3 hours of use, no problems so far.

I gave quality a 4 star for the plastic wand holder and the soap tube can easily touch the hot motor but I simply zip tied the tube to the frame. Value would have been a 5 star if they had a qd fitting on the hose instead of both m22 ends.

The unit folds up and fits under my covered truckbed.
Pros: Easy To Use, Easy To Store, Light Weight, Reliable
Cons: Expensive

This Is A Great Pressure Washer W/ Adjustable Pressure
Being able to adjust the pressure on the pressure washer is great. If you only have one pressure it is to much for some jobs or not enough for others depending on the washer.

The One Wash is great you can adjust the pressure for washing everything from your your car to your concrete driveway.
Pros: Features, I'd Buy It Again, Price, Exceeded Expectations
Cons: Needs someplace to hold down washer w/ foot when starting.

Douglas,
You can also adjust the spray by using the different nozzles- a wider spray will diffuse the pressure, a narrower spray nozzle will focus it.
