If we use pump saver to winterize, do we start the power washer up or NOT start the washer up ?Then press the flow button on the can?. Do you hook the wand up or just let it flow out pump exit?

Answer
You want the pump saver to initially come out of the discharge side of the pump, this way you are sure the chemical has gone thru the entire pump. No need to start the pressure washer. No need to hook up hose, gun, and lance.

Answer
Yes, you can use the Briggs & Stratton pump saver with any brand or model pressure washer. It also does not matter if the pressure washer is gas or electric powered.

Answer
No, you do not need to plug the outlet on the pump after injecting the pump saver. You want the pump saver to initially come out of the discharge side of the pump, this way you are sure the chemical has gone thru the entire pump. There is no need to be concerned about it evaporating away unless you have the machine stored away for longer than 4-6 months.

I had an off season and didn't use my pressure washer at all this year. I did winterize it with Briggs & Stratton Pump Saver last fall. Should I use it again this fall? If I do, should I flush it out first or just add another application of Pump Saver? Thanks

Answer
I would suggest that you run the pump saver thru your pump again this fall to make sure your pump is protected. You would not need to flush out the pump prior to adding more of this chemical to the pump. If the machine has sat for that long, more than likely most of the chemical inside the pump has evaporated anyways.

can you store a pressure washer without useing the pump savor if so how

Answer
You can but I would definitely not suggest it. Using a pump saver prevents any water left inside the pump from freezing and causing corrosion internally. Also, using a pump saver keeps the seals lubricated. The most common reason that a pressure washer will stop working is due to not properly storing the machine.

Answer
The most important time to use a pump saver product on a pressure washer is when you are going to be storing the machine for longer than 30 days or at the end of the season before the cold weather hits. However, if you only use the pressure washer 3-4 times a year, I would suggest that you run a pump saver product throught the pump after each use. This will give you the longest lifespan possible out of the pump.

Hi,
Just wondering how many applications can be done with one bottle of the pump saver? I plan to use my B&S pressure washer occasionally throughout the winter and then store sprayer in a shed. Just wondering how expensive it will be to use this product. Also, if I run out of this product what antifreeze is recommended should I use the alternative option using a hose and antifreeze? I live in Ottawa Canada, old as heck here ...

Answer
This can of pump saver will give you 2-3 applications per can, you should get 3 as long as you conserve on each application. I would definitely suggest you use this product repeatedly if you are using your pressure washer in cold months. This product will prevent any water left in the pump from freezing. I would not recommend that you run regular antifreeze through the pump. There is a certain chemical in most antifreeze that can dry out the seals within a pump.
